Kat> Yeah, the whole concept of people making things from an idea you made yourself is one most gratifying. How's contests work, anyway? Because from what I understand, it's you getting lots of art but only paying for a few of them. :B

	Kat, that's a lovely sig there. I love the tones in it. Ugh, art contests. They used to be amazing, wonderful things here on Gaia. I wonder if the downhill slope has changed in the last year...

	It's like any contest but with art. People use artwork as their entries all for the possibility of winning a prize or one of the prizes since most of the time contests will award something for many different categories aside from the best representation of the character / avatar. You got themes, subcategories and some do honorable mentions too. The artists who enter are of the understanding there is a chance they could win something big and a chance they could walk away with nothing. But we did really well with our contest (Madi, Pocket and myself) - everyone who entered was really nice and even those who didn't win or won a lesser prize were great sports about it and expressed interest in coming back if we ever had another contest. A lot of them left their shop links too so if we ever wanted to commission them for real then they would love to have us. Some of the more popular, and larger contests have like millions of gold in prizes devoted to them so people enter in droves hoping to win. Edit: XD Its a rotating siggy, which one did you see?

	And yet some of them are still showing up as broken links. D; But they look okay in tektek. As for contests - Enki and Anna had one sometime last year (as in months ago) and it went off really well. They had a nice turnout.

	One with a upward face shot. She looks like she's looking at the camera and has a jeweled necklace swinging out. The colors are gorgeous. I remember the art contest I held back in the day. I actually got two pieces from Artoki. I have way too many items sitting around in my inventory that'll never get used, I should think about doing another contest.

	Oh yeah, BritishMuffin's piece. one of the same that caught Mat's eye. I got that from a contest like I told her. =D seems to be a favorite. I was gonna do another contest with Fish, Cog, Jay and myself but it never got off the ground so we all just decided to put it back in the idea box for another time.

	yeah, I dunno... I know I'm going to be throwing some items around for OOC prizes in the Event RP, just because, but maybe I'll hold some of it back for an art contest after said event. XDD
