To build off what Josh said... at the end, the voices all started to sound more and more to have that level where it was a bit of you showing through no matter what. However, that was at the end of a list of clips played consecutively. The first few seemed pretty strong, and I think it seems like the kind of thing that would be a non-issue if you're just doing a single role. Though it'd probably show through if you tried acting too many parts in a single game/episode/whathaveyou. It's probably hearing them together that makes the similarities start to stand out.

Otherwise, yeah, more or less agree.

Sounded good-but-cheesy in that kind of way the after-school and Saturday-morning kid cartoons are. Like Josh said, made me think of a voice over more than an actual person, but if it's the kind of show or game you'd be voice acting for, clearly that's A-okay.

For example, the pokemon segment was perfect because we all know pokemon is cheesy saturday-morning kid stuff with terrible VA.

The part where you were reading dialogue between Ryugi and Maximos, that sounded more like reading off a script than saying it with proper feeling behind it.

The villain rant segment, while done well in every other way, still sounded like it belonged in Sailor Moon.

Not so much with the 'actual person talking' in most of those, though it came close with one or two.

I sent the link to my VA friend, so hopefully he'll get back to me in a few days with some comments of his own.

I would agree with that sentiment except Twilight doesn't have Ian Darke, who makes the World Cup bearable as something to have on in the background and pay attention to every fifteen or so minutes.

I'd try to follow the World Cup more closely, but I'm always at work when the games are on, across from the 3D TV. And since you need to use the 3D glasses to actually see anything, all I can make out is Team Blob vs. Team Out of Focus, and the score is ink blot to fuzzy.

You don't need the 3d glasses to hear Ian Darke.

Or team BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I can tell what's going on because all of our customers yell at the top of their lungs anytime there's a shot at the goal or an actual goal.

There was also one woman who made some sort of hideous screeching noise. Then yelled as loud as she could at her friends across the store.

Essentially we're a sports bar anytime the World Cup is playing.

Twilight also doesn't have people flopping and pretending to be injured, does it?

I like this. I'm taking note of it for future reference.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Twilight did have that.

it doesn't... and you would know that if you tried to read the book dear *curls up under the couch and wishes her head would just get it over with and explode already*

Now why in the world would we want to do something like that? We're perfectly capable of judging it without doing so.

But from what I know of the birth scene at the end of the series, Bella doesn't need to pretend. But I'm only assuming there'd be blood and guts and screaming, for all I know she's all hopped up on the power of loooove and doesn't feel a thing.
