I've decided I'm never going to finish that stupid game, because the game itself clearly doesn't want me beating it. It either glitches out, or everyone randomly gets killed instantly, or turns into a zombie, or I suddenly lose all my food and everyone starves to death.

Get the fastest ship, carry 300+ food, 150 ammo, 100 loot, and set the speed to fast with filling rations. Never take the quick routes, because theres no food there, and the fast ship only holds 500 food, so its not worth it. It might work with the giant ship that can hold 1000 food, but you'll probably never store that much without wasting all your ammo early on, and its slow moving anyway, so dont even try doing perfect hunts since you cant carry more than 250 food back anyway. Minimal loot is just for the trading waypoints for more ammo, health, or food if you need it, since randomly getting loot seems way more common than getting ammo or food.

Rest for 3 days when everyone's condition hits fair. Only hunt when your food drops below 300. 150 ammo is just enough to last the entire journey, give or take losing some or gaining some from the random encounters.

As for hunting, primarily hunt sasquatches and buffalo in the forest, since they give 100 food for 4 bullets, and maybe the grey deer things if you're desperate, they give 65 for 3 bullets. Dont shoot the gophers on go carts. They pay out the most food, but takes more bullets and time than its worth because they'll go off screen way faster than you can kill them, and they might not come back for you to get more shots off on.

Only hunt crabs in the sea, they give 50 food for 2 bullets. Shoot the dragons if you're desperate, they take 3 bullets to kill, but only give you 60 food. I think some of the grunnies will give you 45 food for 2 bullets, like the ones that pop out of the holes in the ground.

You want to stock up on food before you get into the sky area, 'cause they give you garbage animals to hunt, other than flying bears, but they take way too many bullets to kill, so its not worth it to waste ammo and time on something that takes 2 or 3 passes to shoot down, where you might not guarantee a kill.

JB kept wanting to drink whatever that stuff is that turns into 50 loot when you hand it over to the keeper.

I'll have to get a screenshot when that happens.

Also, I've decided that the Final Fantasy 14 beta is just a myth. It's been nothing but trouble downloading it, and now each time it installs files, my antivirus is convinced that one of the temporary files is a virus and blocks the entire installation.

But if it IS a virus somehow I certainly don't want it.

Don't buy any food in the beginning, spend it all on ammo and take the long way around. You'll have enough ammo to shoot all the food you'll need. And when you get to things like "trade 25 loot for 10 ammo" take the ammo. You'll need it more than anything else.

Or at least, that's how I finally won.

I was going to name my ship the USS IMENZ and add a Crawley to it, but then I realized that was basically pressing the instant win button, and I like a good challenge.

For me, it won't even start. It just crashes upon clicking the application.

Very first time I won I just took the Titan, kept speed and rations to normal/average and just tanked my way across the globe.

Don't think my food stores ever got below 600, and somehow ended up with like 650 loot that I couldn't spend.
