Alice had been unconscious for quite some time and when she opened her eyes just a tad bit, she knew she was still being carried on Tripp's back, and she could feel the presence of more people around them. Her immediate reaction was to scan her surroundings and enter the minds of the strangers, but her head hurt enough to make her think otherwise. She listened a while to the conversation and heard a familiar voice, but she couldn't quite place it. She hung on to Rade's voice every time djr spoke and noted that because she sounded calm, that there wasn't too much to worry about. She assumed Rade knew one of the people who had approached them and shut her eyes to try and sleep again. She felt nauseous and wanted to lie down and pass out somewhere, but they had to find a safe place to hide and she was relying on Tripp and Rade to do just that.
But a female's voice shook her. Alice was not acquainted with this person and her words didn't seem right. Alice argued with herself whether this was her intuition talking or if she was just paranoid, but the girl was very suspicious. She claimed to be with Retribution, but to be able to know their names without anything on file of the group was strange just in itself. Of course, they had been to Retribution years ago after meeting Adalya, but that base had evacuated and transfered to another location. Something wasn't adding up in Alice's mind, and she wasn't about to trust this supposed Retribution member lead them anywhere without more information.
"Find... a place- t-to rest." She took a deep breath and lifted her head to meet the eyes of the unfamiliar Altered. "Not with her." Her voice was cold. "No doctors, j-just... safe house." She put her hand around Tripp's arm and squeezed and whispered so that only he could hear, "I....I don't tr-trust her..." ((I know Elva isn't with the Institute, but I'd figure I'd have Alice not trust her, she's been thrown around enough and she's not right in the head, so she's going to be suspicious of everyone.))

Of course Susan knew who the pink haired female was, everyone at the Institute knew who Rade was. She was on a list of the few people who had managed to escape the walls of the Institute, and someone with the skills to do that was not forgotten, and with the ability to transform into a dragon and with pink hair that stood out in a crowd, all in all, Rade was famous at the Institute. But Susan hadn't known that her and Tripp had been working together. If Gha'aru could bring those two back and bag Alice at the same time, he would surely be promoted. He needed that job more than anyone else and Susan understood that. Without another word, he walked by her and his side brushed against her, making her shiver. How could something so terrifying have any ounce of humanity left in it? She wondered about what it would be like to live in Gha'aru's shoes as she walked down the hall, heading for the Infirmary. She had just about made it inside when a guard directed a question to her and she turned.
He asked if she had spoken to the demon they had captured earlier in the day. Susan shook her head and knew immediately they were referring to Jay. The guard explained that Jay was becoming a nuisance and that he was only willing to talk to her. She nodded, and hesitated by the medical bay, irritated with the fact she wasn't going to be able to check up on Lance was a while. She sighed heavily, and then headed to Jay's cell. She made her way down the steps slowly and grimaced when she saw Gha'aru. She didn't want to interrupt anything, so she stood back in the shadows and said nothing, watching with curious eyes at why Gha'aru was here.

"I don't want to know where they are, just who. I mean, I have my hunches, but I thought you could at least tell me who I should be worried about jumping me in the dark." Gha'aru laughed darkly, his white eyes making his whole appearance intimidating. Again, the guards stepped back, many hitting walls now. The two monsters in front of them were starting to overpower their human desire to survive. "By the way, she didn't betray you. She was set up, even. We're not nice people here, Jay, as I'm sure you know. Like what they did to your family. Too bad they thought you were of value then, instead of killing you with the rest of the filth. Gha'aru laughed again, turning away from the caged man, "Now, I have to go capture your friends. I don't really need you for anything... I just thought it was worth a shot."
In the blink of a eye, Gha'aru vanished again, his massive body no longer taking up space in the dungeon-like enclosure. Within moment he was back topside, not leaving the ethereal plane as he left. A few of the Institute members saw hi as he materialized from the floor, jumping away from him and earning stares from their companions. He chuckled to himself as he left, off to begin his hunt.
The rebels would at least have to fight for their lives instead of just slaughtering the cannon fodder that had been thrown at them until now.
((So, to be completely honest, I lol'd at living in Gha'aru's shoes. With the thought of: "Gha'aru doesn't wear shoes." No joke.))

When Alice squeezed his arm and said that she didn't trust the older woman that was speaking with them, Tripp's paranoia shot through the roof. He nearly pulled his gun again before getting control of himself. He remembered that she didn't have the signs of someone that was lying, and so far, he hadn't been wrong with those bio signs. As he turned to whisper something back to Alice he saw movement from the corner of his eye. Automatically the computers took over and he turned to the new figure, his eyes zooming in so he could see her clearly... Madlax.
"Radé. Madlax." The two names that escaped his lips were without stammer and stressed nearly to the point of breaking. This time he did pull his gun again, shifting Alice so that he could shoot. It limited his manoeuvrability moderately, but he would prefer to shoot than run... for now.
Radé turned sharply to Tripp, following his eyes to Madlax. "The gods do not like us today... Guys, she's trouble." She hefted her weapon and glowered at Madlax, "What do you want now, hmm? We've got places to be and you're in the way."
Her sword pulsed once, the runes glowing brightly for a moment. Radé's eyes changed in that moment before she reigned control of her body again. "I suggest leaving before things get very unfriendly for you..." She hissed, dropping into her fighting stance.

Grave turned, annoyed nobody had oooed or awwwed at his display, at what Rade and Tripp had turned towards. He saw Madlax and tried to remember how and why he knew her. "Oi! You're the b***h that caused hell in my town!" He whipped his SG around from behind his back, stopping its heavy swing with his boot.
Jek looked at the woman, he hadn't seen her before. Lost, what do you think of this one? There was a low hum in Jek's mind. She...looks like institute to me... Then suddenly the ground around Grave and Jek blew up, causing craters. Wow. Indeed, realize she may be using the craters to alter the terrain. One thing is for certain, she can combust the air explosively... Great, explosions. Jek outstretched his right arm to his right, a long black shadow stretched with it turning into a black katana made from the void. "You don't introduce yourself nicely...."
Grave hit the ground several times with his SG only held with his right hand. "I'm going to break you, just like you broke my home!" Grave's SG shook with sound waves. Grave slammed the seven strings with his hand and a blast of air cutting sound waves hurtled towards Madlax.

THIS IS MY NEW POST FOR SUSAN!!!!!!! SOMETHING IS BEING ALL WEIRD AND I FREAKIN' HATE IT!
Once Gha'aru had left, Susan waited a few moments more moments before making herself visible in the light. She headed over to the front of Jay's cell and stood there a few moments in silence, taking in his current condition. He didn't look too beat up, but his knuckles were bleeding and he was clearly angry with the state he was in. The cell would do to keep him inside, for now, but eventually they were going to have to either sedate him or move him to a different location. He was starting to make a lot of noise and commotion, and they wouldn't have that going on inside the walls of the Institute. Bad behavior was not tolerated.
"You wanted to speak with me." She was far enough back so that he wouldn't be able to touch her. If he tried to attack, she was prepared for it and it would simply take a few steps to the side and she would be out of his way. She was anticipating his every move and she waited for a response. Why she was down here talking to him was beyond her, but something was eating away inside of her reminding her she owed this guy. The feeling was impossible to ignore, so she gave in and came down to the cell. It was guilt, and she knew it. She just didn't want to admit she had been feeling more human emotion than usual.

XSenkoX If you couldn't guess, this is Senko. I'm hijacking OOC posts to try and get the other posts up. I'll post in the order that they're in in the Topic Review. So pay attention to who is being quoted, since I make no promises that the posts'll be by the right person. XSenkoX (Is a bit of a busy-body)
Madlax had been fast enough to drop the sword when she saw Elva’s face. The look of someone becoming ready to kill, it had been there for a raw second. She knew only the small tidbits that her eye screen told her, Elva didn’t have much of a file but, it did say Lightning. Madlax dropped the metal that she had, her sword and stepped away. “I have your quadrants, I could send them to every institute member in the area and they would follow you, I don’t think you want that. Because, they can track you and follow you until you’re all back in the little prison cells that you belong in.” she took a deep breath, still sweating the lightning attack, watching their every move and reaction. Madlax laughed at the group knowing full well that, she probably wouldn’t be able to dodge another attack, all of the ones that she had dodged were complete luck.
“Reason enough to kill me? Probably. SO go ahead, I know that it will lay no guilt for you to kill an old comrade, or a girl of only eighteen. Hell, I don’t think it would make you feel guilty to torture me. You slaughter countless men and woman who have families and children. They cry the most, the children, then they grow up and join the institute to revenge their parents who died for a greater cause.” Talk talk talk, all of it true but, while she talked Madlax was slowly letting the nanos bury under the ground letting them all get underneath of the group, then they would ignite and she would have no trouble in getting someone else in there to remove the bodies. This would be her last attack, not enough energy for anything else. “We don’t even need to draft anymore because of you. People just come to us wanting to kill you.” Madlax smiled. “Does it feel good to kill innocent solders? Do you hate them, or have something against them? I mean, other than the fact that they’re with the institute?” The nanos were almost ready and she was ready to jump and grab the fire escape just above her head. (Does it seem like I'm god-modding? Please tell me, I can never tell for myself... icon_biggrin.gif I'm going to wait for the other charictors reactions now...)

Lance was starting to wonder if he would ever hit the bottom, if there even was one. Complete darkness surrounded him and he continued falling through absolutely nothingness. Perhaps he wasn't actually falling, and he was just floating in the air with the notion that he was. Or maybe, he wasn't even floating at all. When he tried to think about it, it just made the strange pain worse. That was his least favorite thing about this strange place, there was a sharp pain across his entire body. When he tried to scream, his voice failed him and when he tried to move, he found he had no control over his body. Whatever this place was, it was clearly a punishment for what Lance had become during his life.
Life. Was this death? No noises around him, surrounded by a blanket of complete darkness that shrouded him from everything but the pain. He could feel his mind slipping, as if he was going to lose every memory, every little detail of the people he had known. He tried hanging onto those images and pictures, but they began to evaporate, as if his entire existence was disappearing into the nothingness. He felt like crying and begging for it to stop, but there was no one to beg and nothing to stop it. If this was hell, Lance didn't know how much longer he would be able to stand it. And if he had to spend eternity here, he would surely lose his grip.
But a familiar sound filled the dark place and it gave Lance the bit of hope he thought he was never going to get. It was the sound of a phone ringing, his phone. He still couldn't move, but the phone continued to ring and Lance struggled to answer it. Finally, his right eye opened and he gasped for air. The darkness had been almost suffocating, but the air in his new location was a gift. Lance scanned the room with his one eye until it came to a figure, piercing over him in a white outfit. The doctor made no moments until Lance's one eye had focused and could see the man's face. He must have looked terrified, because the doctor made a quick comment about how he wasn't going to hurt Lance.
The phone was still ringing and the sound of it making another jingle had Lance turning his head over to his coat that had been thrown over a chair in the corner. A nurse removed the phone from the coat pocket and opened it.
"Coordinates to some rebel's locations." She wasn't explaining this to the doctor, but she was telling Lance. He looked back up at the doctor and tried to speak, but couldn't.
"Don't strain yourself, my boy. The operation was a complete success. We're just having a few difficulties stitching your face back together. You're going to be blind in your left eye, that is, if we can find an eye for you to have. Your lips are stitched together and healing at a perfect pace. You should be back in shape in a few days."
Lance lifted a hand to reach up and feel his face, but the doctor stopped him and shook his head. "Now now. That wouldn't do you any good. We'll get you some more morphine for that pain."
Lance hadn't even realized he was in pain, but the moment it was mentioned, Lance felt the same pain that had been tearing him apart in the darkness. But before it got worse, a nurse injected the drug into his arm and Lance's one eye rolled into the back of his head. He was out.
