Photoshop's smudge tool doesn't love me sad
I'm forced to layer color, upon color, upon color, upon color, etc, etc, etc, until it looks remotely 'smooth', which it doesn't then I go crazy and them BOOM!

Bottom line; I have accepted my style as it is. (read as: I GAVE UP! I QUIT! I FAILED!) biggrin

Cell shading just looks like Anime. Or like character sheets, where much clarity is needed.
Other than that, it's known that airbrushed works are much more appealing to the viewers eye for reasons that you probably know, so quiet now, I shall be. biggrin

XD wow~~ you don't want it uber soft, trust me. @_@ it looks like melting chocolate that someone could go and eat. =.= I hated softness, hated it. I don't think it's that hard to soften style- just use airbrush, lower opacity, soft light strokes- poof. done.


xp I've accepted the softness to an extent. but I'm still working on making the lineart cleaner at least. that's what's been hurting me the most- people don't like my sketchy lines. @_@


biggrin well on a first glance, cell shading looks more "professional" but airbrushed works are more pleasing to the eye, yesh. ^_^

No! Smudge doesnt love me! Not even when I CGed with mouse. It always hated me.

Ugh, Mouse CG took sooooooo long. Because with that, I'd have to keep adjusting airbrush pressure. X_x

Yaye. I've had the tablet for nearly a year... altho, I've only used it for half of that. (Since I shunned it for about 4 months due to hatred for it.)
I don't adjust anything, while i'm coloring.
Aside from the hues and shades. I just set the airbrush to different pressures depending on the parts I'm coloring. (like skin is 15% and hair is 45% biggrin )

... melting chocolate.... O_o ... isn't it a good thing to have people want to eat your art? xd
I can't believe that people don't like your sketchy lines. That's almost what I find most visually interesting in regards to your style. 3nodding

* one time tried to go onto MS paint to FORCE self to do solids* xp ended up wasting 4 hours pixeling each dot by hand.. XD it looked blended. I am ADDICTED.

O_o;; really? it's what I was told to work on the most. XD People want professional looking art. apparently with my style, it COULD possibly look more professional, if only I could clean up my lines. @_@ which I can't. I once spent 30 minutes on lineart, and 3 hours cleaning it up. =.=
