Down in the ground floor of the Grand Library, a kind of labyrinth, made up of bookshelves, winds it's way about, providing knowledge to all who know their way around. It's also possible to traverse the tops of the fairly wide shelves, if you don't have the ability or levitation or flight.

Scarlet entered the maze silently, singing a song of death to herself. Fire left prints of her boots on the ground. The dust on the shelfs swirled around her because of the wind she created. She was angry.
Teri could sense how angry Scarlet was and shuddered. She climbed to the top of the shelves and followed slowly.

A book fell at Scarlet's feet. She bent down and picked it up. Her long brown hair falling to right side. The book was dusty so she blew on the cover to reveal the title. ' Teleportation ' was what the title said. She read through it in an hour. She tested the methods out once and got it right the first time. She jumped down to where she was standing at and checked for missing things. Scarlet found nothing at all.
Teri watched Scarlet silently. She hopped down and sang quietly. She saw something sparkle on the shelf. She looked at it closely. "What's this? It's so red." Teri handed it to Scarlet.
Scarlet held it in the light. "I think it's a ruby. It is a ruby. I wonder why it's here." She gave it back to Teri and walked off.

Scarlet stopped and fell to the ground, her hand on her chest. She began gasping and coughed up blood. She looked up to find Teri looking confused. Water appeared on the ground and she watched as Teri jumped off the ground.
Teri held on to the ladder and watched water climb up to Scarlet's elbow. "What's going on Scarlet!?"
Scarlet made the water disappear and fell on her side gasping. "Long ago, there was a daemon hunter named Nadia. She was hunting me so we fought and she stabbed me right before I killed her. She was using a daemon fire silver knife. One of the few things that can hurt a daemon. Ever since then every two hundred years or so I feel the pain of a million knifes in me." Scarlet said this as the gasping slowed down. The pain stopped and Scarlet sat up slowly. She got off the ground and cleaned off her clothes. She walked out of the maze and left for the main library.
Teri followed slowly and muttered to herself. "That must hurt."
