At the moment, I'm making characters up as I go. I'm like "I need three new characters" so I'll pull some characteristics out of my a** along with a name for each, then develop the characters as I work.
For example, in the 3rd chapter of the fanfic I'm working on, I introduced Eva McKellon, Jacob Bored, and Renald Pater. At first, they were very basic characters. Eva had dreads and tribal tattoos, Jacob was the big guy with a burn up and down his left arm, and Renald was the young sneaky guy.
In the 4th chapter, I worked on their personalities, making Eva kinda snarky, Jacob being the peacekeeper of the squad, and Renald being a somewhat cynical young man.
Ad for the story itself, I'm kinda making it up as I go =P

No, not really. Everyone's running as intended I think. Decided to give a hint that Commissar Mina Fargas has a "thing" for Sergeant Dan Harris, though I had not originally planned this. Spur of the moment thing. Might be fun to drop hints that they may like each other, despite the rank difference and whatnot.

Well, at the moment, I'm kinda lacking the urge to continue writing (mostly due to schoolwork), but I'm also slowly hitting a block after the Inquisitor questions Michael. I might cut to the other characters and give them some screen time if I can't think of anything "good".
