Making a soft sound of complaint when the brandy was snatched from his hand, his words were halted when he found himself being hugged again. Blinking through the fog that the alcohol had begun trapping his mind in, he tensed slightly and peered up at the girl in confusion.

"What are you-"

He was cut off when she spoke to him, her voice soft and gentle, as if trying to comfort him. Was she trying to comfort him? It had been so long since anyone had even tried to get close to him. As sad as it was, he forgot what it felt like to be comforted. Not since Alfred had been small.

He felt ashamed to be in such a position that Seychelles found herself needing to comfort him, not scold him for his bad habits. To fall to pieces in front of someone...? It wasn't like him.

Relaxing with a slight sigh, he closed his eyes and relented to being slightly coddled, missing what it felt like to be cared about.

Crossing his arms slightly, Gilbert prepared himself to argue his way out. However, all of the aristocrat's reasons were valid and hard to find a reason out of them. Separately, he probably could figure out a reason why he should leave. With them all together like this...? It wasn't really possible without getting way off track.

He hadn't noticed Roderich stand, lost in his thoughts, so he started slightly when his hand was gently grabbed. Blinking, he glanced up and met the Austrian's eyes. Not quite relaxed, but not tense, he didn't pull his hand away like he probably should have.

"I..." He didn't know what to say. He felt like he was being a burden, but Roderich didn't want him to go. That meant he wasn't a burden, right? "I s'pose..." he murmured, relenting in a way that didn't make it obvious.

Resisting the urge to groan as he spoke with the receptionist, Ivan could feel his patience slowly beginning to unravel. She was infuriating. It was as if she had never spoken to a foreigner, which was unlikely. Just looking around the city, there were people from all sorts of nations visiting the old city or simply passing time before their next flight.

Nodding as she finally decided he could pay, he found himself relieved when his card was accepted without problems. He worried that he was low on funds, but it seemed he still had enough British currency to afford the hotel room.

Taking his card back, he slipped it into his pocket and walked over to the two nations, hiding his distaste behind a false smile. "Good help hard to find, da?" he instead commented, key cards in his gloved hand.

Perhaps he had overdone it a little with his reasoning... Had it come across as a bit desperate, perhaps? It was a little late to worry about that now, and besides, the desired effect had been achieved; Gilbert had agreed to stay, and that was all that mattered. His method was just an unneeded detail. Realising that he'd been staring far too long into the gaze of the ex-nation, Roderich cleared his throat, eyes flicking away briefly in his mild embarrassment at this situation. Usually he was so calm and reserved... And yet, this situation had him -no, not just him... This situation had them both out of their comfort zones, and acting a little bit unlike themselves.

'... Thank you.' Again, he was met with the unease of not knowing what to say or do. He didn't exactly want to let go of Gilbert's hand, but holding on for too long could possibly unsettle the German. However, just letting go would make it seem as if he'd done all of that for show... And knowing his luck, it'd still be awkward. Heck, it seemed that no matter what he did or said, the atmosphere was still uneasy.

Leading the albino tentatively towards the re-made bed, Roderich shyly nodded towards it. 'You should get back to resting. And before you say any more about imposing... You're not burdening me. I enjoy your company, you know... I'm just not the most apt at showing it. You'll have to forgive me. Well, you don't have to, but you know... You know what I mean. A-anyway. Is there anything I can get you? A drink? More meds? Hot water bottle?' Deciding to retreat back into his favourite topic to quiz the German on -he really needed to stop coddling Gilbert- the aristocrat perched on the end of the bed, having finally let go of his friend's hand.

At the sound of Ivan's voice, Yao withdrew from the comforting shadow of the Greek, blinking wearily up at the Russian with a slight, dazed 'Mmn.' He wasn't entirely sure what he was agreeing with -he'd not really been focusing too much on what was being said, but rather, the sound of his friend's voice- the Asian reached to shade his eyes with one pale, trembling hand, looking up at the blonde with a weak smile. ''Van, you're back, 'ru...' Of course he was relieved that the Russian had finished. This meant that he could rest soon; although the Chinese male usually did not think of himself before others, he knew not to ignore his own dire needs... That was just foolishness. Other's wants could go above his own, of course.

''M hafta... Pay y'back, 'ru, when y'tell me how much room is...?' Mumbling this after a few moments, Yao used his free hand to reach towards the Russian's, interlocking their fingers with a little difficulty -his hands were still shaky, after all- as a way of ensuring this promise. 'Not fair... F'y'uu to pay it all.'

Nodding in agreement with the Asian's point, the Greek glanced upwards at the Russian. "Yes, it isn't fair, especially in this climate. How much was my room? I may have enough funds on me now.." Having prepared for a hotel room in advance - it wasn't unlike the Mediterranean to sleep for so long that it was too late to return home - Heracles was fairly sure he would have enough to cover this payment. Reaching with his free hand - It was rather sweet, how the Asian felt the need to keep them both in contact - the Greek brought out from his coat pocket his wallet, before returning his gaze to Russia, an expectant look in his eyes. "Let's hurry and sort this, then we can get Yao comfortable in his room, yes?"

Averting his gaze, Gilbert tried to fight off the faint pink blush that was dusting his cheeks. He wasn't used to this sort of thing. Whatever this was, really.

Listening to Roderich speak, he resisted the urge to smirk in amusement. It was obvious that the aristocrat was nervous. He was rambling, really. He probably felt rather foolish, to be honest.

Blinking when his hand was released, he glanced over and pondered over the question. "I want you to stop running at the mouth, Specs," he blurted out, not realizing what he had said before it slipped out. Blushing slightly, he fumbled over his words. "Uh, I... Uh..."

Sighing slightly, he mussed up his hair and sat down beside the aristocrat, crossing his legs again. "You know what, never mind the excuses. I mean that. Stop running at the mouth and start treating me like you used to. I'm not delicate or in need of coddling. I'm sick, yeah, but I'm still me, ya know? You used to talk to me all the time. Usually to get mad at me, but still.. You weren't afraid to speak your mind. So, calm the ******** down and stop being so ******** nervous 'round me."

Blushing a bit at his mini-monologue, he prodded Roderich in the chest lightly and met his gaze calmly. "Got it?"

Feeling somewhat crowded by their offers to pay him back, the Russian's smile faltered slightly. He wanted to take a step back, but Yao had interlocked their hands and it would be rude to separate when he was almost positive that the Asian needed that comfort. Instead, he smiled brightly.

"Nyet," he argued, smiling. "Is fine. Not pay back. Government pay, not me." He didn't care that he was lying. After all, lying was a natural response to get out of a tricky situation. He felt no guilt for such an easy action.

He giggled slightly, finding the whole situation amusing. "Since already paid, not able to find out how much it was, da?" He took a childish amusement in that knowledge, liking that he held power over the situation again.

A little surprised by the sudden change of mood from the Russian - It was almost childish, how the taller nation was acting - the Greek merely shrugged, deciding to let the payment go. "Very well, if that's what you wish." He could always ask the receptionist later.. But right now, there were more pressing matters at hand.

"Yao? You ready to move?" It was a little unclear whether the Asian wished to walk, or had to be carried.. After the previous outburst about being handled too much, Heracles was being particularly cautious about not over-crowding the Chinese nation. "Oh, did the receptionist mention anything about that clothing..?" Glancing back up towards the Russian, the Mediterranean nation rose to his feet, hand still interlocked with Yao's, in case he was needed to go speak with the receptionist again.

Well. That was very Gilbert-like, but yet, the Austrian hadn't expected for the albino to blurt out something like that, all of a sudden. Though he did have a point... The way it was before had been fun, despite the constant irritation, banter and bickering-

No. Those were what did make it fun.

'... Alright, I'm game for that. Though you have to promise that you'll not worry about being a burden or anything like that. You never used to worry and there's no reason to start now, right?' Catching that sincere, calm gaze with his own, Roderich felt the tight hold of his anxiety fade. It felt good to be immersed in the relief of being calm again; he didn't have to worry or watch his words anymore, so Gilbert said, anyway... And that was all that counted.

Prodding the German back with a little more firmness than the poke he'd just recieved, the aristocrat grinned wryly. 'So... What do we do now, Gilbert? Hm?' Deciding that he wanted to play -though it had ended badly earlier, with him being pinned and all that- Roderich prodded Gilbert again, this time in the cheek, but more gently this time.

----------

This was strange... Looking between the two nations whose hands he held, Yao couldn't help but frown just a little. He was a little oblivious at the best of times, but he wasn't stupid. This was how it was, wasn't it...? He knew that neither Ivan nor Heracles liked one another very much, and they were only tolerating one another for his sake. And although it was a sweet gesture from the both of them, it was upsetting for the Asian. They needn't go to this length to keep him happy, but yet the both of them were trying anyway.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, the Chinese male looked to the Greek as he was addressed, nodding a little. Yes, he was ready to go... And ready to sleep this awful feeling off. He didn't like to be so dependent on his friends, to be an inconvenience... Letting go of the hands he held, Yao smiled weakly, before summoning up the willpower to stand on his own-

Then stumbling, falling onto his hands and knees with a quiet yelp. 'A-ah...!'

((Apologies for not posting in so long... It'll probably be like this for a month or so, as I'm swamped in uni work. =_=))
