Section II - An Embraced Power

part 2 of a very long a detailed story, broken down into very vague a slightly less interesting paragraphs... but if ever there was a cheat sheet for the inner working of a story this would be it...

(id like to point out now, that this story is the opposite of most other in the fact that you learn more about the main character as the story goes on. a bunch of characters are given in the begining to give the reader a bunch of things to focus on. but as time goes on, they will recognize specific characters and be very comfortable with the main ones. especially shirou, because he goes from 60% of the story in the first part to 80 in the second.)

the beginning of this starts out the same way the first did.
with a conversation. but this one is more dark, and less sincere.
salem is tied down to a chair sitting in front of a group of people. one person walks out from the crowd, its marrioni, and he looks rather pleased. wanting salem to do some work for him he asked salem to take out a group of people, and he could keep his life, but salem refused, so here he is.

marrioni tells salem that without his friends around, it would be folly to not listen to him, and salem laughs. (something that one rarely sees salem or nathan do) then marrioni puts a field around him. he gives salem one last chance, and then salem speaks up. telling marrioni that He has one more chance.
everyone laughs then. but as soon as they stop, there is a pause, and the lights go out. there is screaming, crashing, and the sound of sword clashing.
the lights come back on and salem has his sword on the outside of marrioni's personal field. and he laughs and says that he needs a favor. marrioni doesnt respond, and points out that salem cant kill him. and salem kills him... darkness travels up his leg and stabs him in the chest effortlessly.



shirou unlike salem isnt in a dark cave fighting mob bosses, he is up in ragnavol begging erin to let another person enter ragnavol with him.
they are walking to the newly built cathedral where a war conference is being held.
a flash back would tell us that after the battle with valeon, his brother malik had shot part of himself in to tell them all that he would be coming back to reclaim what is his, right after he makes the earth his own.
so new generals were called, and a few war captains were named as well.
it had been decided that they would take the battle to him rather than wait for him to turn earth against them. now they are walking to erin's inauguration, she is going to be the leader.
shirou begs her one last time to let a person in, when erin says that humans usually cant survive the trip because of the shock factor, shirou says that its alright, because she isnt a human. shes a vampire.
this stops erin for a moment, but she tells him that they would talk about it later. she then leaves him at the foot of the cathedral. he smiles and disappears.

shirou walks out of the forest, back on earth. ha has been charged to do two things while there. and not being a general, or a lieutenant, but still a senior member by rank... he must patrol the out edge of the forest in which the portal lies. he and he has to go out and find salem every sunday. sure its hard work, but immortals never have to sleep.
he does so... mostly talks to himself, or plays a game or two. but after a few hours, he reaches the outside of the forest. then he, deciding to slightly deviate from the plan leaves the forest. he heads off, walks across a country and a half without incident. he sees many things that he never knew existed. and he passes a hole that looks rather familiar to him, one he fell down not but a few weeks ago.
he heads into the town a few miles away, to see a friend. a girl named Zoe (questionable)
she is the girl that shirou had bitten after being stuck in a time bubble for what felt like, to him, a few thousand years. needless to say, he became extremely sorry for what he did and no visits her whenever possible. but she doesnt like it.
that night when he bit a human for the first time, she turned into a vampire as well. no knew that immortals could adversely affect humans, and so she became an anomaly. and shirou starts to fall for her, fast.

she is no longer living at home since becoming a vamp. and she resents shirou for it. he finds her living in an abandoned trailer, trying to escape the police. her parents had called the cops once she had left.
but anyway, shirou tries to comfort her, but she pushes him away.
he decides to bring up a ragnavol again, but she says that she would rather die than follow him. he accepts this and changes the subject. he talks about a friend he has been searching for and she shows a little more interest in this, but not much.
he says that he will be around the town for the next few days, and if she wants, she can come with him... its better than staying after all.

he leaves, walks half way down the road, and sees her at the end of the road. (vampire speed, you know) she decides that staying in town would be pointless, and at least she can have someone to talk to, or yell at. he agrees that it would be better that way, and they leave town together.

shirou and zoe head towards the countries capital, shirou decides that he might want to ask the human generals if they had found an immortal with dark powers.
when he tells zoe this though, she hesitates. she tells him that new officials are being voted in in a few days, so the current generals and even the president will be different soon. and the current ones will be much harder to find.
alas they are still a few days walking distance from the capital, and neither of them knows how to drive. cars had just been invented when shirou was little, and zoe just never learned how.

so they pick up the pace, shirou convinces her to allow him to carry her, as he can run faster than any person on earth. so they head off to the capital, on his back, she asks him what exactly he is, because not even she can run as fast as him. so he tries to explain immortals to her. although, he admits a new name should be made, because if she is a generic vampire, then she can theoretically live forever as well. but he says that they are humans with spirits withing themselves, giving them unimaginable power... how they came to be though, is for the most part unknown, all thats know is that they exist. how ragnavol came to be, and what it is, well now one knows, yet.
she tries her best to understand and then falls asleep, when she wakes up they are in the capital.

(once again, i am unsure if the earth is planet earth or a made up world... so until its figured out, cities will not be named)

zoe turns over and finds shirou sitting looking at a group of large buildings. he says that he asked where the capital building was, and they pointed him here. but he cant walk in because when he tried he was stopped at the door and told to leave. shirou admits that the last thing he wants to do is start a fight with the human army. so he just came back and waited for her to wake up.
they sit there for some time, and the sun starts to rise, eventually a bus passes by and on its side are presidential advertisements. the two top candidates- the first Paul Bennet and...
shirou heart almost stopped at the site, Maliki Parsons. shirou laughed at the last name, because he knew that valeons last name wasnt the same.
when zoe asked what was wrong, shirou responded that finding salem would no longer be necessary. because if the government had captured him, it would be better than worse, seeing that salem is strong and wouldnt dare be caught by humans anyway.
but he says that he needs to get back to ragnavol quickly. zoe is confused and agrees to come with him.
so they head off, but they are being watch as they do. one of the presidential guards is looking at them through a window, and he seems displeased by what he saw.

they make it to the forest the day of the election. shirou and zoe make it to the portal, and shirou stops.
he knows that they are being watched and he demands that the person comes out. a bald man dressed in green walks out from behind a tree and greets them. he calls himself Xiao Lian. he says that he is the new portal guardian, and that if the famous shirou wishs to pass, he would have to get by him.
shirou demands that he stands down, but xiao says that people who abandon their duties dont deserve second chances. shirou commands him to this time, but he retorts by saying that he is a senior member as well, and shirou cannot order him.
xiao talks about being the promoted by darren, a few days after becoming an immortal, for his skill in martial arts and self defense.
shirou shakes his head and agrees to beat him, he even says that it will only take one hit to do so as well. xiao accepts and they face off.
xiao gets into a fighting pose and yells at shirou to prepare himself. and then he gets hit from behind, xiao goes flying and hits a tree right next to zoe who stumbles back.
confused and utterly beaten he asks shirou how...?
and shirou tells him about the power of a CS something a new immortal wouldnt know much about, a CS is part of a person, but can be separate as well, xiao looks back to see luna sticking her tongue out at him, and he passes out. shirou picks him up, luna disappears, and together shirou and zoe walk into ragnavol.

Salem is talking to the group of people still in the dark, starts to make commands, a girl steps forward to claim responsibility.
he tells them to carve a mountain into a castle worthy of a god. she asks him how, and salem turns around, clearly mad, and yells FIGURE IT OUT.
so they all leave... salem turns to a wall and smiles.

shirou and zoe walk across the barren white flat of ragnavol to the newly built wall, although she is impressed by the size of the wall, she doesnt really see anything special about the place.
as they make their way into the city however she changes her mind rather fast. they get to the cathedral, and zoe decides to stay out side, although she isnt the talkative type she wants to ask the people around a few questions. shirou nods and heads inside to meet with erin and the other generals. seth, darren, warren, thana, and william for his ability to take down mont without incident. infact william had been the only one to not get hurt in the ragnavol invasion. mont himself who lived that day and didnt run away, was demoted to a lieutenant. he wasnt imprisoned because he said that he was also under someones control at the time.
shirou got a meeting setup rather quickly. he told them all what malik was up to on earth. erin wasnt surprised, but it wasnt good news. if he did become president than the human population, or earth, really would be his. and they didnt want that so they needed to come up with a plan, and come up with one fast.
a few hours into planning, william came up with the idea of attacking him the day he is election. considering that he is like his brother valeon, controlling the earth, he will probably setup the election so that he wins anyway. so they would send a specific team to disarm his guards, if they be immortals as well, and then capture malik and hold him against his will.
erin decides that the group, consisting of seth, a few lieutenants, and other immortals would attack the moment he enters the main capital building. seth agrees and he requests that he be the one to pick the other immortals.
seth then looks at shirou and asks if he would like to go. shirou shakes his head and says that he would rather look for salem. erin, doesnt agree however. she says that if he wanted to be found, he would come back. but until he does, he will stay lost. (and then guess what happens >.<)
salem appears out of a wisp of darkness in the middle of the room.

but yeah i ended there last night because i knew it was a moment of.... wait! what happens next?!? you know...

shirou doesnt believe his eyes, salem is standing right in front of him completely ok. salem looks up at shirou and smiles (a tactic i thought he should use ever since i saw harry on spider man three) shirou runs up to greet him, and ask him where he has been of course. salem replies that he wasnt feeling well, and now he fell loads better, almost free.
shirou is confused but doesnt worry about it to much.
erin a little less pleased to see him asks him to explain and shirou cuts him off by getting angry at her. and so shirou and erin start to agrue about being lost, then about curteousy, then about leaving ones post...
salem didnt seem to care, and half way through their argueing he felt someone enter. he looked back to see a girl enter, she seemed to lighten up when she saw shirou, and then salem remembered. that was the girl he gave shirou when issac had trapped him in time. and salem smiled. looking back to erin and the other generals he said in a much different voice that had to leave again. the arguing stops and everyone stares at him.
salem looks everyone in the eyes, and ends on shirou, he tells them that he has important busyness to take care of and takes a step back. he says that although he does have business, it doesnt mean that he cant have some fun too. in fact he would prefer it. so he says that they can drop by any time they want.
shirou asks him what he is talking about, but salem just smiles, looks at him and says especially you.
salem then goes on a tangent. he talks about the world being evil, and how having fun is all one should aspire to in dark times.
shirou starts to get angry, and notices zoe behind salem. and suddenly salem turns around and grabs here, and with swish of his hand she disappears.
erin stands up and draws her sword, as do everyone else who has a weapon. thana suggests that he might be under someones control but salem laughs. he says that he had been under control for so long, no now hes free.
but then the room starts to get heavy. and salem notices shirou, who is steadily getting more and more pissed off. shirou demands that she be brought back. and salem shakes his head, take her back.
erin looks at everyone and sends them out of the room, shirou and salerm stare each other down.
as erin turns to leave the room right after everyone else, and right before she leaves, she tells shirou to make sure he stays alive.
salem smiles again after hearing that.
shiou's CS's come out, and they tell him to calm down, after all using his "holy" power would be better than going 3rd, but shirou doesnt listen, and they disappear into shirou.
shirou then rushes at salem. and he disappears behind him. what continues is shirou trying to hit salem, and only barely catching him. in the last few moments of their encounter, shiou pins salem down, and comes instead of ripping his head off, calms down enough to demand that zoe be brought back. salem disappears from below him and repeats, come and get her.
in an instant he disappears into darkness.

Drastan, shirous first CS, appears after shirou calms down a bit more. shirou gets mad at drastan and ask him how salem could be that fast without using his holy power. it confused and angered him, and drastan stayed quite.
shirou looks at him and vows that he will get her back, no matter what.
shirou turns to leave, and drastan says under his breath, no matter what huh?

erin tells shirou that finding salem wont be easy, and once they get a lead or two, he can go off and set him straight. but she erges shirou to understand, that malik is their main concern, seeing that he threatens both earth and ragnavol. shirou pretends to understand and walks away.
he goes off and brings together everyone who had helped invade ragnavol that day. and asks them all if they would like to help him bring salem back. they all seem uneasy. but a few of them say yes.
shirou gets alayna, maleas, aura, and alex to help find salem. as well as a teleporter who help people get around earth faster.
the others decide to stay in ragnavol, and some had already said that they would go with seth to earth to capture malik.

it takes a lot of energy to write these. tis very time consuming... and i do have a phone, but it costs money for long distance... BUT! i will be back home for three weeks after the 18th. and we can talk /chill then smile

MOVING ON!

shirou and the others split up and search earth, for any obvious signs of a rather powerful immortal. and the more time that goes by, the more upset shirou becomes. confused by salems actions, and at his own anger, he searches the planet with increasing intensity.
in the end, non are able to find him. and they get word that seth had started confronting malik, although he escaped the first time.
shirou took that news in stride and continued. one by one the other members had to head back to ragnavol, either because of duties they skipped out on, or because they became to tired of searching. in the end only alex and the teleported searched with shirou, until erin and maleas showed up.

she wasnt there to help however. she came for two reasons. to tell him to join seth and also to search a castle that had appeared out of no where. shirou tried to argue but was shut down where erin gave him the look. alex asked her if he could search the castle in her place. and erin accepted his request. she told shirou to report to seth immediately and she and maleas would be right behind him.

seth, was truly having a hard time. confronting malik was easy at first. knock out a few human guards, break through a few doors, and there he was. but alas, he kept immortal guards, rogues that turned to malik for guidance, and he taught them well.
malik had escaped to a secret presidential base, and one immortal was left behind to deal with him and the others.
his name was joe, and as far as his ranking he was the grunt of the group. but both joe and malik firmly believed that he could defeat seth and the others (who i cant name right now because i dont have my books)

joe is a gunner, and the rate at which he can kill is top notch. like a gun to a human can be leathal, a bullet from one of his guns can be lethal to an immortal as well. although as he tells seth straight out, there is a catch. he doesnt shoot bullets, but rather energy. so imagine a super bullet traveling about the speed of light.
seth determines that he is the only one fast enough to stop joe, and tells the others to leave and wait for back up. he would rather everyone else get away safe, than some of them being killed if they all ran at once.

everyone leaves, and seth and joe stand off. gun vs. sword.

shirou arrives to find a everyone that came with seth running from an army of cops and police officials. he laughs and stops the cops by destroying the ground before them, making them all run away.
the others are grateful but say that they weren't running from the police but rather the destruction that will commence when seth starts fighting. shirou finds this funny and sends them to erin who will tell them what to do next. shirou heads into the building to help.

alex looks up at a rather large castle, floating over a lake. he can "see" where it was previously cut from a mountain, and he can also "see" the strange substance holding it up. when he asks the teleporter what it is, he says that it looks like a dark cloud. and then alex gets interested.
he tells the teleporter that he will be back in ten minutes. he also tells him to leave if he is any later then 20.
alex then has himself teleported over the castle and falls onto it. he then screams a hole in the side, causing an explosion. and runs inside ready for a fight.
he finds no one there. he walks down a few hallways, and ends up in a large hall with a thrown the the back of it. he walks up to the thrown to see a very familiar symbol set in the stone. and his heart sinks as he notices the figure leaning against the wall on the other side of the room.
