A False Client

[Amaya R. Sparda]

Amaya pulled her black coat closer to herself, cursing the matter of her attire on this cold night. She looked back at her companion Kai who wanted to come along and help her out. He held the pendant in a small pouch while she fiddling with the rosary, not really sure what to do with it. She was never one to be religious and to be this close to the manor again and not drunk, made her extremely nervous. As they stopped in front of the small house again, Amaya closed her eyes and bit her lip. She was scared and the collar was burning her skin.

Kai was wearing the most elegant clothes he had. it had been awhile sine he had visited the manor, focusing mostly on his friends. he fixed his coat and scarf to cover the pendant and looked at Amaya with a smile, "You are very brave, Ama-chan, and you need to be brave for me now, alright? Aiden couldn't come with us, but I'm here. You'll be fine..." he took her hand gently, his hand warm compared to the dry air of winter, "Give me the pendant, please, and tell me if you remember something in particular about that night. I don't know who I might be looking for..."

Amaya smiled back and then nodded. "A-Alright. Thank you Kai-chan, for coming with me to this place again." She said with another smile and then a light blush. She then pulled the black pouch from her side and handed it to him. "The pendant is inside and I remember one thing. He was dark skinned, with these dark golden orbs for eyes. He was about your height and he had a scar, I think. I can't remember much, but that's what I do remember. There was one thing strange though. I never introduced myself to him ever. Never said my name, but he knew it. Kept calling me Ama-chan, and other little pet names like that. It was scary...." She said while looking up at him.

Kai tried pondering who tis could be, "He sounds like a demon that works under the covers. No worries, I will ask," he covered his face with his scarf, something he stopped doing for some time now, but he thought it could be convenient with the circumstances. He still held her hand as they passed the gates and the gardens to the entrance. People were passing through but he went straight through to the back, "Stay close to me," he whispered as he got closer to a small man that seemed to b taking record of the people in the castle. Kai showed his badge to him.
"Master Vades it's so good to see you again...why are you visiting the Manor today?"
"I'm looking for a man," Kai gave him the description and the man meticulously looked in his records. Kai gave a glance around and pointed to Ama the architecture of the place, "Vampires have any years to make wonderful things. This is just a small example of such architecture...but I still prefer simple house than this..." he kept her close, to make sure that no hungry eyes were looking to nibble her.

She nodded and followed after him. She seemed a lot closer than she probably needed to be, but she was scared. She then looked at the small man and bit her lip. "He was also missing an eye.....He had a missing eye at first when I was visiting him, then when I woke up, he had two eyes, both golden...." She said after Kai described him. She had suddenly remembered that. She then looked to where Kai pointed and smiled a little. "They do have amazing creative skills.....A simple house is much nicer though." She said with another smile.

He hugged her, knowing that his warmth will keep her calm. The old man cleared his throat to respond to Kai, "He's in the East Wing, Room Autumn Blood." Kai chuckled, "A visitor suite? Interesting. Thank you. I'll take my leave soon, so there's no need to tell my Masters I'm here."
"Alright. It was nice seeing you, Master Vades." He went back to work as Kai walked away with Amaya, moving back to the main room and going up the marble stairs, the red carpet covering their steps, but the sound of his cane still resonating within the dome above them. He moved to the hall and looked at the doors, "Always close to me, unless you see you're in danger..." Kai whispered as he moved closer to the door. He had concentrated his darkness on his cane, to turn it into a pitchfork if he had to, a new trick he just learned.

A smile came across her and she purred slightly. She then blinked and looked up at him. She followed after him quickly, her heels falling silent upon the carpet, but she held onto his arm as she was kind of scared. She nodded and bit her lip.

Armand sat on his floor, his shirt gone, his claws filed down for once. He was fiddling with a charm. "It is a pity my Ama-chan got away before I could make her mine again. Oh well, she will be back and maybe with a friend. Yes, a friend to play with and protect her. Oh well, I hold her life in my hands. She won't be able to leave Durem without my permission~" He said, as he purred slightly, still playing with the charm.

Kai got to the room and looked in his pocket for the master key, looking back at Ama with a smile, "Being Louie's guard gave me some perks. I have keys for everything..." he opened the door and moved in, he moved slowly to avoid problems, holding to his cane tightly. He saw the man on the floor, but couldn't see him that well, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need to talk to the owner of this room. I am Master Vades, and I'm looking for the owner of this trinket," he said as he took the pendant out of the bag, showing it to the man, "It was placed somewhere where it doesn't belong..."

"Wow, you got lucky." She said while watching him. She then followed him into the room and flinched slightly when he pulled out the pendant.

Armand turned around with a grin. "Master Kai Vades. I heard much about you from the people around here and from my lovely pet's thoughts. Such a pity she doesn't remember me, do you Ama-chan? I am the current owner of this room. Armand Dantes, it is a pleasure to finally meet you~ I have seen that pendant before, but I am not the owner of it. But I found that on my Ama-chan, right before I placed my collar on her. Which she is still wearing, I am flattered. I had wished you had stayed a little longer though. I could have put on this charm and then you would have been mine again, Ama-chan~ I worked very closely with her before Mr. Vades. You could almost say we were in love, but she disappeared one day and I never saw her again. I traveled the lands in search of her and then I found her again, but now she is merely a doll. I wish I had my Maya, back.....My sweet sweet Maya." He said with a sigh, as he stood up. It was obvious he had a multitude of scars. Many of them were from Amaya herself, but she didn't know nor would she ever. Standing a full 6'0" even, his darkened skin was barely seen, but there was no mistaking it, he had two dark golden eye staring down at them.

Kai stood in a bit of a shock. This man was either very twisted, or actually saying the truth, and Amaya lied. He didn't want to look back at her, but he felt he had to. "What you mean a doll...like she's yours? No, she's not. She belongs to herself and to give to those she wants to give herself to..." and what was he talking about the pendant wasn't placed by him, "Who placed this necklace on her?" he moved so he was looking at ama and armand at the same time, "You're wearing his collar?" he had a feeling that amaya was leading him to trouble.

"No, he means literally. I am a doll. A shapeshifting doll. I told you I was a doll when we met Kai, remember? He shouldn't know this! I don't how he does! He put that necklace on me! He did! W-What? N-No, I can't be wearing his collar! I tore it off, I tossed it into the river.....I remember doing it...." She said while looking scared. She then reached up to her neck and paled. "N-No. Damned collar! I took it off and got rid of it. It shouldn't be here." She said while trying to remove the collar once more. Her hands were shaking she tried to take it off, but to no avail.

"It is a pity she doesn't remember me. She was not a doll when we met. Her skin is soft and pretty like a human. Not a doll, not hard and cold and wooden. How can she be? My collar is magic, like that pendant. It will stay with the person who wore it unless removed by more powerful magic than my own. The pendant came off because of Mr. Vades demon magic, correct? But that collar, it can only be removed by me. I want you all to myself again, never with him or anyone else. Mine and mine only Amaya Sparda. Do you hear me?" He said while looking at her, the golden eyes gone, now just a single red one staring at her, no not staring, glaring at her.

Red eyes looked up and gasped, falling onto her behind, she was scared. "N-No! I left Barton and Aekea because of you! I wanted you dead! You were dead! You shouldn't be alive...." She said while looking up at him, scared. "I knew your last name was familiar.....Dantes. Alexander and Armand Dantes." She said while shaking.

Kai was getting mad at his comments. "I hear you..." he mentioned when he asked. He made the minions appear around Kai and they all transformed into darkness and morphed around Kai's silver cane, transforming it into his long dark pitchfork. He pointed it at the man, "Amaya is not yours, or mine, or anybody's. She's mine! I'll give you one last chance to comply, or I will be removing your head from your body..." he lowered his voice for Amaya, "Ama go to safety...stay in the building. It'll be more dangerous to go outside..." he stood in stance. Kai's pitchfork was big enough to lift a person in the air with it, and the shaft was long for distance attacks. "You messed with Hell, boy..."
