User Image Gui Hua Oolong: Lightly oxidized oolong combined with the pleasant
aroma of osmanthus flower. This tea is refreshingly light and has a
hint of peachy flavor.

Currently using: Ceramic Gaiwan (lvl 2) - quintessential Chinese tea
brewing vessel. The thin ceramic lends itself to all types of larger leafed
teas. The lid is used as the strainer. No low grade black teas, japanese
sencha allowed, or small leafed herbals allowed.User Image

Arya pearl darjeeling: A rare tea, this organic tea is one of the most carefully produced teas
in all of Darjeeling. The delicate leaves are plucked promptly, at the break of dawn,
while dew still covers the tea bushes. They are then dried in the sun for a few hours,
rolled in fine silk cloth and then finished with a final round of sun-drying.

Tea Review

Loose leaf Orange Blossom is an unusual Formosa
Oolong with beautifully twisted speciality leaves with tips picked in
July. Flavoured with Orange blossom to create superb liquor.

Name of Tea: Formosa Oolong Orange Blossom.

Initial appearance: It was difficult to tell how it appeared originally since I had this tea served to me in Liberties in London. However, I did have a look within the teapot to snoop at how it was presented. From what I could gather it consisted of small dried leaves (presumably the tea leaves) I couldn't tell for sure if they were whole leaves or not though... Amongst the leaves there was also small pieces of orange peel, no doubt helping to give the tea it's orangey scent and flavour.

Aroma: It smelt lovely to tell the truth. I'm no expert at picking out scents and so the best way for me to describe the smell would be "Christmassy". Obviously there was a strong scent of orange but adding to that there were many of the traditional smells of Christmas - cinnamon being one that I could pick out.

Flavor: Warming and slightly spicy this tea was perfect for warming me up after the drab weather outside. Normally I don't experiment much with my tea and stick to the traditional English Breakfast tea that is commonplace, but this deviation from my norm was tasty and refreshing. I would recommend it to others!

Overall rating: 4 / 5

Update.

I would like to use this tea review to upgrade my complementary "Basic Teapot (lvl 1)" to "Ceramic Gaiwan (lvl 2)".
I would also like to put the one skill point I have gathered so far into the Ability category.

04/01/2011 - I would like to put one skill point I have gathered into the Ability category and one into the Tea category.

A few splashes disturb the peachy surface of the tea and upon closer inspection
one can see a small fish circling around the cup. Where did that come from?

Who could know that just by sprinkling a few tealeaves into the cup as food
every day the little fish could grow into such a large and handsome animal?

In the early morning, like a fresh spring breeze carrying the scent
of crocuses, this tea spirit crept skittishly into existence.
