Swearing

Okay this is random but I just had to ask this. Does anyone in this guild think it is appriote to "type" swear words. I see it all the time on peoples facebook and things and I personally think it is wrong to swear even if you yourself aren't physically saying it. Not trying to be offensive if anyone does this, I'm just saying.

Swearing isn't actually offensive, on it's core level. Those words are a use to accentuate one's current mood and empower the context of their words with feeling and emotion, it's just some are bad and no-no's because we can say poo poo and not s**t, or sex and not ********, it's heavily hypocritical, and I just casually use them, as words, which is what they are.

I believe that kind of talk xp super gross!!!
Nothing say: "I don't respect myself or anyone else around me" like lower oneself by talking it that maner.
It is so uncool!

It's all communication. I think it matters how we communicate in every medium. I don't think talking on the phone is different than typing on the internet.

I've got a really dark personality and sinister sense of humor so I'll swear like a sailor if I don't make a point not to, but in a perfect world I don't think I'd swear.

A friend of mine pointed out though that the church is actually aptly described as the "church of free will" in that through our agency people can actually do whatever they want, but they can do nothing to change the consequences of those actions. In theory it's perfectly "okay" to swear, but there will be spiritual consequences to it.

Personally I don't swear all the time but when I do it's mainly when I am mad at something. I get mad I really can not control what I say sadly and it's gotten me into some deep trouble in the past. But normally I don't swear and it annoys me when people like my dad swear every other word and when he get's mad at me he will start making lies saying I was swearing at him saying GD and all this stuff I have not said. So I dunno if this made any sense or not but in the long run no I don't like people who swear.

Absolutely not, It is not okay to type it out just as it's not good to curse/swear. A lot of the time it's not what goes into us that defiles us, but what comes out. Because it comes from the heart. A lot of the time we might react and curse out of anger or another reason. Something kind of nudging you to speak in that way. Which isn't right. We're told that we will be judged for our actions, words, thoughts even! C'mon now, that one speaks of itself! Besides, How could the Spirit dwell in us when we spout nonsense and garbage? The aim is to lift up and build, not break down in any way. Ya know?
