1. Anything Goes Writing League - This contest is the biggest and longest running writing contest on gaia. The host Wing McCalister is a self-published author of the MC Chronicles with a PhD in Physics. He's a very tough judge but also extremely helpful. Once a year, from June to October, Wing holds a writing gauntlet called Gaia's Greatest Writer. I highly recommend trying out! He also gives out a shiny trophy for yje one who collects enough AGWL points each season. Click the link for more info.
2. PK's Contest - Phantomkitsune is a professional editor and is in affiliation with the Anything Goes League. She holds four or five contests a year with various themes. I love her contests but they aren't for the weak hearted. She'll serve up a good dose of reality check in her feedback so be prepared for an education. This contest gives out AGWL points
3. Something for Everybody - This contest is unique because it has three different prompts for every round. The host LoperDoper is a British student with a love of creative writing in all its forms. If you're looking for something different, Loper usually provides. This contest gives out AGWL points
4. Drabble Battle - This contest is where brevity is key. Each entry needs to be 100 words. No more. No less. Ivy provides several prompts for you to choose from and write your little drabbles.
5. Top Hats and Martini's - This is my own writing contest. Like PK, I am affiliated with the AGWL, though not accredited (I do not hand out AGWL points) and hold three or four contests per year.
6. Prehistoric Bonanza - This is a give-away I'm holding but if you scroll down to the games, you'll notice that there is a poetry contest being held there if you'd like to check it out.
I hope these contests will inspire you to write.
