Spoilers and thoughts ahead, Read at your own risk.
So anyone that is still alive here and read Naruto, what did you think?
Highlight for my thoughts about it (feel free to skip it and just share your own thoughts)-
I am just going to come right out and say that I hated it. I started to lose interest in the series somewhere around the war arc (hard when all my faves are dead or rarely shown. I felt like there wasn't much to invest in to the story at that point).
It started to become everything that hated and didn't want? From pairings to how it all went down, etc.....half the stuff came out of nowhere with little to no development. I last left of somewhere with Madara and Hashirama and stopped for awhile before skimming through the rest here and there (Obito being Tobi and all that just killed the story for me for good for the most part. It would have made so much sense to me that Izuna faked his death and doing this out of his own experience with the clan fighting and turning his back on his brother. Obito shouldn't have lived as he was crushed. But Izuna was only mentioned once in a story by Itachi and could of easily been lied about or more of a myth. Why bring him up at all if just for the eyes? Itachi could of talked about the eye part and left it off. Not unusal for some characters to be unnaturally old....Kakuzu anyone? And Izuna would known a lot of things and people due to his old age and experience).
I extremely disliked Sasuke and Sakura. How could she still like him and still forgive him after all he has done and than not really explain or develop the relationship at all? Barely even shown together and up until that point, he didn't really have much interest in her (tried to kill her more than once I believe). Suddenly they have a daughter and of course, he is not there again, off on his own and feels like he doesn't even really care. And who names their child Salad??? Fruits and flowers I can understand as they can seem nice and sweet, but Salad?
Also they just left him off? He didn't really redeem himself. If he couldn't have done that, his death would have made the story have a deeper impact at least...like sacrificed himself to save everyone in the end. Never been too fond of NaruHina either as it always just felt more onesided like SasuSaku, Maybe if they all developed on the relationships more, I would like them more....maybe if it seemed to work and make sense.
I was reading about what people thought on another forum and someone brought up a good point that it seemed that they all seemed unhappy over the years. They got what they thought they wanted but still seemed unhappy despite that. Really makes you think and go back and pay more attention to them.
All in all, it was unsatisfying for me and became too predicable which I hoped for so long that people were just wrong about that.
Another thing about the second gen, they seemed so uncreative and parents are so random. Like they look exactly like their mom and dad (not the genetic parts, but same hairstyle, clothing almost and even personality. It may as well just be a flashback of Naruto and the rest when they were kids).
So what do you guys think? Were happy with it? Angry? Indifferent? Are planning to move on from it or just make your own more satisfying ending? Or looking forward to those mini stories and last movie?
Honestly, I am more looking forward to the ending of Legend of Korra.
