Reno Vantas

But a few things were feeling off about his statement. A few things he had to question. "And why would I listen to anything you have to offer? From how Eri acted, I can assume you're associated with the Cult for the Dark One. Plus the only time I brought up the name Ultrarius, Sub went into fugue state and felt like he might bring down Victory Road on our heads. So why would I follow any requests to ring that bell again and walk to where you want us instead of just saying I caught a minor case of Paldean Athlete's Foot but its benign? Oh, also? Not exactly a surprise when who I presume to be your lackey is sitting in the audience gallery after we halted her Herba snatch and grab." Biting his mental tongue after that, Reno would quickly assess himself and find the small mushroom that was playing antenna. Apparently it had tucked itself away behind his tie, right next to where his stone was resting inside his shirt and that had managed to hide it both from view and being felt. But he wasn't going to cut the cord yet. He wanted to see if he got a response

"You certainly have a fair few ideas, don't you? You appear to believe I am completely adversarial to you, that I only have the worse intentions. While I care not what becomes of you and the rest of the Dark One's...acquaintances...I do care what becomes of him and right now his well being is tied to all of you. If you wish to help yourselves, by proxy of him, you will take my well intended advise and seek out the Cult." The person Reno dubbed 'Mister Mushroom' immediately responded to him in his mind, his tone more serious than before with a hint of resentment.

"All-in-all you are free believe what you will, as misguided on certain things as you might be. And of course you're free to do as you wish, but destiny will arrive right on schedule all the same. The only decision you get to make is whether or not you'll live to see that beautiful day of metamorphosis. Oh and...please don't dead name the Dark One, it's rude. Au revoir as they say in Kalos." And with that he not only stopped talking but the mushroom on Reno's person withered away, 'Mister Mushroom' intentionally severing the connection. Looks like he wasn't feeling chatty anymore.

Requiem of Whyspers
“Ultimately, after a relentless attack against us on his part and us barely managing to not be killed by his very clear attempts to end the lives of several of us, I was forced to end his life to put a stop to it.” He ended the rather abridged tale, tears streaming down his face by the time he had finished. “We’d made every possible attempt within our power to stop him without doing so and while we had succeeded in the past, he’d been on Ein’s leash before that day and allowed us to escape. That last encounter, he made it clear he had broken that leash and had no intention of allowing any of us to live if he were allowed to continue.” He paused momentarily once more before delivering one last line. “All he wanted was to go home… and I wanted to help him but not even Ein knew how and he’d gone mad with grief by the end.” The Channeler’s trauma over ending Dull’s life had never been more apparent. Certainly, he had been to Hell and back for the power he had gained over the years but that power was supposed to be purely to defend. He’d never wanted to use it to end lives as he had against Dull.

"Touching, very touching." Cruxias says, his cane tapping as he made his way across the courtroom floor to look at Odd's sightless eyes. The prosecutor was frowning lightly, even if Odd couldn't see it he'd be able to sense the seeming truthfulness of his words, it didn't seem like he was being sarcastic. "Une tragédie, c'est sûr. Tell the court, if you would Mister Odd," He gestures out around at the gathered Snagems in the gallery. "Is it often that the leadership of your group pressured you into playing judge, jury, and executioner for people? I sympathize with your position, it's not easy to feel like you have no other choice than to execute somebody. But you have to understand the position you find yourself in, sûrement? Here in the court we don't have anything to go by except for your word that you needed to kill this man. Could you please outline for the court who was it that decided this course of action was necessary?"

To the untrained eye, it might seem like the southern drawling lawyer was giving Odd an out. And he was, but there was a very unspoken condition attached to it. Sub surely knew what it was, as his darker-colored eyes meet the bright blue of Cruxias' for a brief, fleeting moment. To the Snagem leader it felt like the impact between two legendary swords, platinum steel meeting dark black ebony as their stare connected and dueled while they looked at each other.

She paused as she looked down at her flats frowning before deciding to take them off along with the barely visible socks that went with them, deciding bare feet was going to be preferable to the extremely thin soles of those shoes. “At this point, they’d be more annoying than anything else. Anyways, let's go now. If anyone wants to stay put, I can send Poggle back to get you all.” Aile, while not walking fast, would start taking off into the forest, heading towards where she picked up that Diglett Cave began. Her large Nincada would soon also appear on her arm, the woman talking to him while they walked. He nodded soon after, probably agreeing to what she told him to do.
Requiem of Whyspers
The glass-like child that had snuck into the group popped their head up in front of everyone else to look at Aile’s SNAG, much like any curious child might crawl into a parent or older sibling’s lap to slake their curiosity about something they were looking at. “So… We’re looking for something? Anything I can help with?” They chirped, looking up at the others. They were probably not a good choice for sneaking, given their unique appearance but sitting around was getting boring. They would, unfortunately, not get a good look before Aile put the SNAG away and stood up. However, they would be one of the first to join her, glad to have something to do.

Darts and Ogerpon would join Aile, following her into the forest and watching her odd (to them) method of tracking the earth with bare feet. For his part, the Giratina hybrid had to admire the woman - she was a pilot and a tracker, was there anything she couldn't do?

Ogerpon would jump lightly as the glass child made itself known in the middle of the action, and luckily for her the Legend wasn't as trigger-happy as she had been prone to be a year ago. "Pyon?" She asks, half-way between taking a fighting stance. A simple query - who are you?

Odd may have had tears in his eyes by the time he was one but when Cruxias asked abut Subpressuring him, his face hardened with determined faith. "Sub has never pressured any of us into such choices.'' He assured. "Nor have Sol or Reno or anyone else within the team, for that matter." He assured Cruxias. "If anyone made that act necessary, it was Dull, himself. He relentlessly attacked us, threatened all of our lives, killed an acquaintance of ours in outright cold blood and was actively trying to do the same to as many of us as possible when I ended his life. While I didn't want to do so, it was an act of self defense. If he had ever stopped, I would have as well but he never stopped trying to end anyone he could reach until he took his last breath." The tears were still present, certainly, but the man was confident and assured in this. Dull had continued swinging until the very end. He wiped the tears from his face with the back of his hand at this point and looked pointedly toward Cruxias, the blisteringly pure color of the man's soul almost invisible against the blank backdrop of the world around him. While he couldn't see his face, the Snagem necromancer could here and feel an honest empathy barely hiding an almost predatory hunger. This man didn't want to put Snagem away. He had an almost primal need to do so to at least one person and he was sure everyone in the room knew who that was.

Pinning the act of putting Dull down on the Cipher hybrid's own actions wasn't just true but it should prevent anyone in Snagem from being directly implicated.

The glass-like child gave Ogerpon a confused look for a moment. Had the two of them met directly at any point or had they only seen one another in passing? Regardless, they offered a small curtsy in greeting. "I'm Clare!" They introduced. "I don't look like myself at the moment, though. I'll have to take a few sand baths to get back to normal, I think."
