It's impossible to know how the Broch family lived as long as they have. Ever since the dawn of it's creation, they swore never to touch guns. They are blade users that focus on speed. A lot of their tricks come from a spell book that is passed down from generation to generation.
Ein has never known how large his family was, he only knew of the people he lived with. Mother. Father. Older brother. Older sister. Ein was the youngest. The children usually started training at age eight.
Even with four years of training, being twelve now, Ein was not very confident in his abilities. One day, the home was raided by four men. His father, mother and brother were killed. His sister was kidnapped. They had guns. This Broch house was no match for these weapons. Three of them had left while one was to search for Ein. That man would call through the house, whistling, yelling "here boy!" Like he was some kind of dog. When the man found Ein, he pulled out a hand gun, pointing it in Ein's direciton. The frightened boy had a knife with him and he threw it with his eyes closed in fright. The weapon would land in the mans forearm, causing the gun to fall and slide to Ein. The young scared boy picked it up, pulling the trigger three times. Three shots; shoulder, chest, head.
Ein felt like his family was foolish because they stayed away from these weapons. So powerful. Instant revenge. Ein now trained with guns. But he only liked one kind. Beretta PX4 Storm. 15 rounds per clip. Even though he now had a gun as his weapon, he still perfected his sword skills. He told himself that he'd never be caught off guard ever again.
Ten years pass and Ein has nothing but complete confidence in his abilities. He worked hard and eventually became the Commander of Aegir Kingdom's Army. Even thought he is very young for such a high title, he's very skilled and has proven that he can handle whatever is thrown his way.
