 The forest buzzed with life, not nearly as much life as you'd think, but the insects kept it alive, well and rather noisy with the constant buzzing of wings. Birds often spent their time around the bright grove as well, building nests and twittering as happily as possible. It was days like this that she enjoyed the music of the world around her. Clef smiled to herself, buzzing her wings softly in tune to the sounds around her. She was glad to have learned a bit from the little filly that her son had since left home with.
Shaking her head to clear it of saddened thoughts, Clef perked up once more and danced around the clearing. Her wings buzzed and sparkled in the light, creating small pinpricks of white light on the darker leaves and bushes outside the clearing. Her eyes briefly looked skyward. Clear and blue with only one visible cloud through the tree branches above. She smiled and considered spending the rest of the day skirting among the forest and plains, raising havoc among passing tribes and other soquili.

Price perked his head up. He could have sworn he heard something. Well, that's what he thought. His painting laid on the ground half finished as he glanced around, not expecting to see much of anything. That was when he froze. A glint of sparkles and green moved from behind the entrance to the forest. It was a mare! He had never seen one like her. Instantly he was drawn to her wings and without going to greet her, like he normally would, he grabbed his paper and quickly started drawing her dancing.
It was not like the other Soquili that he had ever seen. None sparkled like her. Or had such delicate wings and features. It brought out Prices desire to not only draw, but to almost go out and protect her. He concentrated on his sketch of her before she noticed him. He almost felt like he saw a rare sight.
The idea brought out something in him that he had never felt before.

The mare whinnied happily in her dancing and prancing around, not noticing anything awry or the fact she had company beyond the critters of the forest. After a short time, she stopped and giggled to herself, glad she could still feel so young and enjoy life even with such a large hole of loneliness in her heart.
The crack of a twig nearby took her attention quickly. She turned her head and stared into the trees, swearing her just saw movement and something red. Or least a shade of red. "Cres? Little 'Del?"

Without responding, Price concentrated on his drawing. It was brilliant! And it was so far the most complete work of art he had ever done. She was so elegant. He had to get this down on paper.
After a few more moments of sketching he had it down. It was his first complete drawing. He brimmed with excitement. He lifted his head and slowly walked to her. "Hello there!"
He almost felt like dancing, himself. Not only could he make a friend, but he finished his drawing for the first time. He was excited!

Clef peered curiously at the stallion. He was so much different than herself and so intriguing to look at. All the gold and gems on him sparkled in the light from the clearing, drawing her closer and closer with each passing second. She hadn't even noticed his greeting before she was right up in his face staring wide-eyed at the crown on his head.
"It's so...shiny..." the little mare murmured, trying to stretch her neck out to get to the crown. "Where did you get it~?"
