Things had certainly turned out interesting since Kani moved out of the den. She had to say, she was surprised by how well things ended. The others saw her insistance for Juhudi to stay calm and misread it as confidence in the situation, which, technically she did have, but this hadn't been quite the same. None the less, it was settled now, and Mosi was stopping by to pick up Kani for a bit of talk while she patrolled.
So this was what it was like to watch them leave the nest... While Mosi had a moment alone, a secret little smile formed. It felt like they'd just seen all their work in Kani pay off..... it felt good.
"Kani! Get your lazy butt out here and stop acting like a fawning newlywed!" She grinned, tail flicking with amusement behind her.

She'd been taking that evening to catch up on sleep, since the days prior had been rather draining. If her mother only knew the irony of her words. The two of them really did act like newlyweds, spending most of the night playing a little like overgrown cubs. To have someone that she could be silly with, besides family, was a new feeling that she would cherish for the rest of her life. Never take it for granted, she told herself, and she wouldn't. But, the emotional drain on top of the adjustment to her new sleep schedule did have her pretty wiped out.
The tan lioness groaned a bit and blinked bleary eyes, finding that Bushido must have already gone for patrol, probably not wanting to wake her up. Well, this once she supposed, she could spend the time with family, something she knew she needed to keep up with or her father might be hurt, and her siblings, something she truely didn't want. Too much of their family had drifted apart, in other branches. Theirs shouldn't be like that.
"Mom?" She questioned tiredly, emerging from the den with a jaw splitting yawn.

"I have to admit this is a change, seeing you still asleep at this hour?" Mosi quirked a teasing brow, but nudged her daughter's head with her own in greeting. "Bushido still out on patrol?"
Likely, not that Kani would know how long it would be as she'd only just woken up.

"Mmm... I'm not sure how much longer he'll be gone." Kani confessed, settling to flop onto her haunches now that she was outside. One dark paw came up to rub at her face as she pulled her mind from the stranglehold of sleep. How long had she been out?
Another tired blink, and Kani lifted curious eyes to her mother's dark figure, smiling. She was glad now more than ever that they had picked a den closeby, her siblings would be able to visit freely as well, a liberty she hoped whole heartedly that they took advantage of. She already missed the little furballs. "How is everyone?"
