So, while on the toilet today I had an epiphany: I am a 'Creator'.
I don't know if these 'archetypes' have been conceived before, so I will just assume they haven't and act like I made a discovery. DO NOT RUIN THIS FOR ME!
ahem.
I have coined the archetypes and their descriptions as such:
Creator - the 'Dreamer', the 'Theorist', the 'Creative', the Creator writes the designs, the themes, the ideas, behind the projects and the works. Inherently lazy he enjoys the *idea* of creating things rather than *actually* creating things. In short, he enjoys thinking up the world rather than making the world. Also known as: the Dreamer, the Idea Man, the Planner
Builder - The 'Doer', the 'Architect', the Builder is the one that actually constructs things and primarily deals with practicality and reason. The Builder does not deign in the metaphysical aspects of things so much as the Creator, and instead focuses all his/her attention on the real world; in what IS possible AND probable, and the here and now, rather than the 'what could be's, and 'what might have been's.
Thinker - If the Creator laid out the designs for the city, and the Builder built the city, the Thinker would be the one to know how to run it. The Thinker is the 'Leader', the 'Politician', the 'Scientist'. The Thinker is the bridge between the Builder and the Creator; while the Creator dreams up the impossible, and the Builder works with the materials, the Thinker is the one that makes things happen. He/she will find out how things work, why things work; will find out how to take things apart and how to put them back together. Will have his/her foot firmly planted in theories and in realism.
Which are you?
YES! YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE! Don't make me hate on you!

I am too lazy to be any of those archetypes.
I mean, I don't have the creativity to be a Creator. I am too lazy to be a builder and well, maybe I could be a Thinker. I can organize things ok, but I am like a mini-bureaucracy in a way. I make rules and more rules. Once you rule on a thing you always have to rule on that thing. Big drawback.
Which are you Ethan?

If I had to choose one, it would be the Builder, though I show strong signs of being a Creator too.

Man. I've got aspects in all three. I'd say I'm strongest in the Thinker category in that I love to find out how things fit together, to unite the 'impossible' Creator and 'logical' Builder aspects, but I lack the drive to do anything about it.

Umar, I picked Creator because I find I'm always considered with theories of things, and of dreaming up stuff. But I"m not smart enough to figure out how to make it happen, or have the skills to build anything out of the ideas.
I do think you're a Thinker, though!
Same with you, GR. You have a lot of leadership qualities; Thinkers I think are the leaders/politicians, who know how to run things, make things work; they're the balance between Builders (who'll typically be the 'average' person, the work force, and middle class), and Creators (who you could say are the celebrities perhaps, the writers, the scientists, philosophers, etc.)
For example: take a house being built. You have the owners, and the ppl they pay to create the blueprints/designs for the house, all of them would be the Creators; the Thinkers would be the Foreman who runs the construction teams, the lawyers/accountants who make sure the money is there and all the proper papers are filled and filed; the Builders would be the construction workers themselves.
Of course, these three archetypes often compose a single individual, as we all go through each stage eventually, or even at all times; I just wanted to see what was the 'habitual leanings'. If that makes sense >_>

Considering I shall soon be taking a Management degree, I think I can only rightly put myself in the 'thinker' category.

I fit some of all three, but I think the closest for me would probably be The Thinker.

There's a lot of Thinkers. What is everybody too lazy to be a Builder?
Ethan, you have not come back to your thread, but if you do, where did you come up with this idea?

I've so come back to this thread! And I notice there are 7 individuals who posted, yet only 5 voted!! ~shakes fist~
Where did I come up with it? Oh, while I was on the crapper, smelling up the fumes of my feces!
And also from my own experiences.
See, I would describe myself (and most others would as well) as a guy who's into wishful thinking, dreaming, creating. I'm always into creating new stories constantly, but my problem is focus. I have trouble funnelling all that creative energy into something practical, into something tangible. Hence, I dubbed myself a 'creator' of sorts.
Then I talk to my friend, wolf; he's always berrating me on acting on what I want, or acting on my responsibilities, and how he never really goes into lengthy discussions with me about philosophy, or theories, or 'what might happen in a few years'. So, I dubbed him a 'Doer', or 'Builder', with parts of the 'Thinker' in there. He's all about action, all about thinking in practical terms, in realistic methods, and in 'the here and now'. He never looks too far ahead of his next 10 steps or so.
Then I brought up my memories of you, umar. You're also a Thinker. You're very grounded, very earthly. It's like you're this energy that's contained, focused, and directed. You know yourself, you do what you can, and you do it in the best and quickest way possible. While you have bits of the Creator in you (you greated, like, the best msg boards EVAH!~!~!), it's still a very fine edge; concentrated.
I think a well rounded person will lean in one particular position, and yet have near-equal proportions of everything else. For me, I'm still quite raw, and while I'm not idle and still do 'Builder' things, and do them in 'Thinker' ways, my primary train of thought and instincts are all about creating. Drawing, writing, playing sandbox style games, simulations. It's what I do.

Ok, I voted. Got 14 gold for it.
I think it would be nice to be well-rounded in the manner you speak of. I could use a good dose of Builder since I am so lazy and don't want to put my thoughts into action! That is the problem with being too cerebral and too grounded, you don't want to get your feet off the ground.
