Today seemed like a day of peace for the calico colored mare as her daughter was off with her boyfriend and her son was off somewhere irking someone no doubt. Not that she was complaining it gave her some 'me' time and that was something she so rarely got anymore. She could remember when that was all she ever got. Those had been the best days of her life but now she was surrounded by someone all the time and did that ever cramp her style.With this lovely dose of free time she'd decided to take a stroll out of her usual area and head to a stream she knew of outside of her home area. She enjoyed the streams calm and clear waters it always tasted like heaven but taking her children there was out of the question. She knew they'd find some way to contaminate it.
She took her sweet time getting to the stream. She was no longer in any hurry to get anywhere anymore in fact she could probably lay down once she got to the stream and nap for the rest of the day. She pushed through the foilage and carefully made sure that her mane and tail didn't snag as she passed through the last branches barring her from the stream. Oh the lovely stream. The music it made was the most soothing sound on earth.
