Karana’Mzaana was tired, achy, annoyed. She saw the great stone silhouette in the distance, this had to be the pridelands, though she refused to travel far within the borders, she was just fine where she was, within the borders, but out of range of being seen as a threat or trespasser. Flicking her tail her silver eyes wandered her surroundings, it seemed so quiet, where was the flourishing life she heard stories about, hmm?
Yawning she laid in the sun, her fur becoming warm, not too warm as one might think with her black and silver pelt. Her markings were bright against the sun, and she smiled, almost seeming to drift off the day dreaming, though she was quite conscience of where she was.
She smiled, today seemed like a good day to be alive.

With so many little cubs now littering the depths of the pridelands, Kiasi had found that there was little place for her to think. Every time she sat down to let her mind wander over her dilemma, some little brat came waddling up to play or came shrieking through in a group. It was unsettling, not having anywhere that was simply peaceful, and she had sauntered out to the edge of the pride in need of some sort of sanctuary. Although, since she hadn’t been out here many times, she didn’t know very many good places to lay, and thus kept wandering on idly without paying much attention to where she was going.
Perhaps it was the vague awareness in her mind, but she seemed to see the dark figure against the cracked and parched clay of the lands, mingled amidst the tall golden grasses of the savannah. She stopped abruptly, taking her in for a moment before she decided that the pretty thing was probably not much of a threat at all. A rogue, perhaps, but not one that seemed to be up to any sort of mischief.
“Hello,” she said cautiously, bright sapphire eyes taking in every motion the other, still vaguely hesitant but not in a demeaning manner. Sometimes rogues were the best for talk, because they weren’t victim to the silly ideas that the pride often succumbed to and they were fresh faces besides.

Mzaa yawned, stretched, and rolled over for no apparent reason, though it felt nice to just let loose after all she had been through, she still had no memory before waking up with an aching head ache but she had met Afu, who was perhaps her cousin. Though it was nice to get away, see new things, see new faces, hear new voices.
"Hello," she said without turning her head, then she did and her silver hues fell on the form of a tan pelted lioness she offered a friendly smile, though did not venture closer, she was cautious of others now, she didn't wish to be fooled by those who might lie to her.
"Who're you? I'm Mzaa," simply Mzaa, no need to speak her full name.

Kiasi sat slowly as she was greeted by the other form, not close enough to touch her, but close enough that they could speak without having to strain their voices. As nice as the rogue seemed to be, she certainly didn’t want to have any problems with her, and the best way to avoid that was to stay out of personal space. With a little nod, she curled her tail around her golden-brown forepaws, sitting rather rigidly but comfortably none-the-less.
“I’m Kiasi,” she said with a little purr, glancing down at the shimmering glimmers of silver dotting the other’s coat. She was definitely darker than any of the pridelander females in the pride, with the exception of Eusi perhaps, and her body structure was quite a bit different than her own. She wanted to say rogue, but then, she was unfamiliar with lions from distant lands. Her dad was a rogue, and yet, she knew little to nothing about them.
“I suppose you’re not familiar with these lands?” she said with a little smile, thought it wasn’t quite as open as it would usually have been.

Kiasi, a nice name for the stranger here, it sounded gentle and calm, pleasant to hear. Flicking her tail Mzaa watched Kiasi she seemed cautious, which was a good thing for a pridelander, or rogue to be, you could never be too careful, Mzaa knew that quite, quite well. "Your name is quite nice, short and soft Kiasi," she said with a nod, trying to release the tension that Mzaa could have sworn she could cut through with her claws.
Truly she hated tension.
Mzaa shook her head at hte question, "No, I'm afraid not, all I know is that this is the Pridelands, besides that, I don't know a lot, I don't know a lot of things I'm afraid," it was an open statement, but perhaps Kiasi would understand Mzaa had a hard time remembering memories that seemed so far long gone.

She smiled at the words that came out of the others mouth, shaking her head slowly. “Well, I’m afraid that’s not my full name,” she said with a little shrug. She hadn’t intended on giving her the full one, but since the tension seemed to be slipping slowly from the situation, she didn’t see a real problem with it. “My whole name is Kiasi’Nyota. Still not as long as some of the ones you encounter these days, but not quite as short.” She nodded, thinking back softly to her cubhood. Her eldest brother had named her that, they said, when she was born. ‘Little Star’, and the only girl of the family.
“Oh, that’s quite the shame,” she said softly, simply for something to say, “these lands are beautiful, regardless of some of the nitwits that live here.” She chuckled and glanced towards pride rock, blue eyes lingering on the beacon of home standing so tall on the horizon.

"Well, either way your name is quite lovely," she flicked her tail, watched Kiasi, she seemed to calm, yet was she distant to the rest of the pride? Perhaps that was why she had come out here on her own near the borders were strangers wandered by, perhaps to get a taste of those who wandered, perhaps able to hear new voices that were different and intriguing.
"Yes, I suppose it is, a cousin of mine though, I've recently come upon, she says she can try to help me remember," least she hoped Afu would be able to fill in some of the empty spots in her memory, like that of her own lost family.
"Nitwits? I'm sure that there can't be many of those here can there?" she asked raising a brow.
It was strange to hear a lioness talk down of her pride members to a complete stranger.

“Thank you, although I’ve never really had anyone tell me that before,” she said with a small shrug, her smile in place though not as strong as it had previously been. Smiling too much made her facial muscles sore, as unused to it s she was. “Yours is pretty as well, different from most of the one I hear these days,” she said, staring idly at her paws. She never really talked much to anyone, so she really wouldn’t know a lot of different names among the pride members anyway.
“Well, that’s very well that you’ve found someone that can help you restore what you’ve lost, right?” she said with a smile, though idly wondered how she had lost the memories in the first place. Kiasi couldn’t recall ever meeting someone with a memory problem before, so she wasn’t exactly aware of how you lost them to begin with. An accident, maybe? Was she hit in the head too hard? She honestly had no clue.
She laughed as the female repeated her word and shook her head, “I’m afraid that I just tend to be a little antisocial and picky over who I talk to. I’d probably act this way no matter where I was, but that’s just my flaw.” No, they weren’t all nitwits, she was sure, but she didn’t always give others the chance to prove themselves.

"Yes, I'm happy I came across her the other day while I was wandering as I usually do, it'd be nice to be able to fill in gaps that I can't fill on my own," flicking her tail Mzaa nodded as she spoke, it'd just be nice is she were able to go back to normal, and have all the memories that seemed completely lost to her. "Choosing well company can be a good thing though, I would suspect I would not be very fond of being within the presence of a soul that might cause me distress or annoyance."
Yes, there were surely some of those out there, everywhere.

“I don’t think I’d be able to handle not knowing my own memories,” she said quietly, staring down at her dainty little toes. “Not being able to remember my family, or..” she frowned and glanced up slowly. Well, this was probably rubbing it in, and she certainly didn’t want to do that. She did, however, think that not knowing one’s own past must be horrible. After all, even if she constantly picked on them, she did love her brothers. She would never want to forget them.
“No, no, being in the presence of a moron or an idiot is not very fun in the slightest,” she said with a little wrinkle of her nose, a frown on her delicate maw. She really did dislike idiots and those that lacked a brain. Well, idiots and cubs.
“So, are you just wandering this way, or do you plan to join the pride lands?” Sure, it was just idle talk, but she felt kind of sorry for the poor lioness and that wasn’t something Kiasi was used to. It must be a real shame not to know who you are or where you came from. She could deal with idle chatter for this lioness, especially since she seemed to kind. She wouldn’t want to upset her, especially not on top of her problems already.

"Just wandering," she stated and confirmed with a nod. She didn't know if she had any siblings that she had forgotten about, she didn't know if her parents were still alive, she didn't know where she was from, where she was born. All she knew was her name, and that Afu, her cousin, might help her. Flicking her tail her ears swiveled as her eyes looked out towards the roguelands, wandering, she'd have to move on fairly soon to be able to find a suitable place to rest tonight.
Somewhere safe.
"I might find a land somewhere I might be able to join, but until I figure some other things out, I'll just keep wandering on," she said with a lighthearted smile.
Yes, she'd just keep wandering.

“Oh,” she said softly, frowning slightly and glancing away. She couldn’t understand wandering. Even if you didn’t have a family, wouldn’t you want to settle down somewhere where you could at least develop one? She shifted slightly and glanced back towards her. She supposed that if you didn’t know anything about your past, however, that you had no need to settle down. If you didn’t remember it, perhaps there wasn’t that urge wasn’t there in your roots?
“I hope that you do,” she said with a small smile, glittering eyes glancing back down at the lioness stretched out so comfortably across the savanna earth. “There’s nothing like having a home, knowing that you belong somewhere,” she muttered, glancing back to pride rock with a surprising amount of adoration that she hadn’t really been aware of before this moment. She supposed it took the thought of losing everything to remind you how much you really did care for something, even if you spent most of your time complaining.

Mzaa wasn't sure if Kiasi would really understand her choices, half the time she didn't understand them herself. She smiled though, smiling then as to not discourage Kiasi at all from speaking, hearing another's voice in such close proximity was great after wandering for a while. Flicking her tail her silver hues glanced out to the roguelands again, and she sighed.
But she'd soon have to wander again.
"I hope so as well," Mzaa listened as Kiasi went on talking about belonging to somewhere, and she hoped she found that fairly soon, she wanted to be part of something that would be for a greater good, to make a difference.
Mzaa stoof up and stretched her forelegs, flicked her tail an gave Kiasi a slight bow, "I should be moving on from here...though I think I'll pass by this way again," she said with a smile, implying that she'd like to talk with Kiasi again sometime.

Kiasi smiled weakly as she pushed herself to the feet, mimicking the stand of the female before her. She had enjoyed talk to the female, had actually found that her calm demeanor had stirred a similar attitude in Kiasi herself. She was much kinder in the company of the rogue that lacked memories. In fact, she couldn’t’ remember being this nice to perhaps anyone but her father and Kubwa – but she did constantly taunt the poor fellow, so she wasn’t entirely sure that that counted.
“Be safe then,” she said with a small smile, her tail wavering slowly behind her golden-brown form, “and who knows, I may start coming out here to the borders more often.” She let her smile fade to a smirk as she dipped her head in leave-taking, very polite for the typically sniping female. She really did seem to behave more properly around the rouge lioness, but perhaps the sympathy for the female over road all her irritable instincts.
“I need to see if I can find a certain white, fluffy male anyway,” she said with a little smile and began to turn away from the pretty lioness, heading back towards the heart of the pride lands. “It was very nice to meet you Mzaa,” she called back over her shoulder, and then simply disappeared into the grasses of the savannah.
