Angaa was still new to where her family had moved, and it was comforting knowing that she had a place to now reside. As she pounced through the soft ground, she realized how hot the atmosphere was around her. That was still something she needed to get used to, and at one point she drooped her ears so that she could hide under a nearby palm tree. There was barely any shade, but at least the palm was helping a little bit.

Usually she was just fine under the heat of the sun, but apparently it was ten times hotter now! Snugging her body up against the tree, she looked out towards the empty land and wondered where she had wandered off towards. Just a few minutes ago she had seen many others walking around, but now she had found an empty area. Hopefully she would spot someone else very soon, since it was sort of odd to be off by oneself. She was very precise when she thought, so she was sure in a moment or so she would know what to do in this situation..

It was hot, very hot and it seemed most had gone to sleep or lay in the shade but she couldn't find Angaa. Her son was tucked away somewhere in the shade where Kwaruza knew where he was, at least then she could find him later though he would probably have gone off somewhere. She adored her children, they were fascinating!

"Angaa?" She called out, her white body not feeling the heat as some of the other lions. Oh how she did adore being white sometimes. She had her father to thank for that though she had never met him. She missed her mother sometimes as well but then she had her own family now and that was all that mattered.

"Where are you Angaa?" Her blue eyes searched as she called till they landed on a golden shape huddled up by a tree. She let out a small chuckle and rushed towards her.

In a dizzy daze, she thought she had heard her name called. Did someone else see her? Was someone actually around? Standing her body up, she sniffed the air and searched for the familiar noise. Who could be calling her? She had to find out!

Luckily, a very noticeable white figure soon appeared in Angaa's eyes, and she realized her mother was in the distance. "Mother, I am over here!" She scuttled away from the tree, only to feel the wave of heat once again. But it was worth it this time, since her mother had found her! She was so excited, since she hadn't spent time with her mother alone. Her brother must have been doing something else, so Angaa gleamed as her mother approached.

"I am sorry I ran off.. I don't know what I was thinking." Letting her ears fall from their heightened position, she glanced up slowly, wondering if her mother was mad at her. She didn't want to upset her, so she felt it was important to apologize.

Kwaruza just smiled and licked at her cub happily. "It's fine, I was just worrying that you would get too hot and faint or something. I am glad you are ok thats all!" She smiled and stood over her daughter so that the sun was off her.

"What have you been up to anyway? Find anything interesting?" She wasn't quite sure what most cubs did when they were small, her mother had given her such a hard time as a cub that she had never really played or done any of that kind of thing. She still had a lot to learn when it came to her cubs.

At her mother's gesture, she curled up and giggled. It was so nice to have her mother around, and she hoped she could be like her when she grew up. Her mother was always so poised, and she needed to be strong like that. "You know me mom, I would have been just fine!" But still, she was happy her mom was thinking about her.

Angaa shook her head lightly, before looking back towards the palm tree. "It seems I found a pretty boring area, there is not much on this side. For a moment I thought I was lost, and in my own adventure. Before I could get worried, you came in to help me." And for that, she was incredibly thankful to her mother!

"Was there anything important going on today? I hope I didn't stray you from any duties." Since she was sure her mother had many people to catch up with in the new pack. There were so many lions and creatures that Angaa didn't know yet, and she was sure she would met them all some day.

Kwaruza shook her head, "It seems the heat has driven every one to find shade. I am sure we will get use to this heat over time but for now it looks like we have to just find shade at this time of day." She looked up at the cloudless sky and let out a soft sigh. It would be tough on the cubs in this heat but she hoped they would adjust quick enough.

"I am sorry you didn't find anything interesting, I am sure we can find something to do now though unless you would rather rest in the shade?" She lowered her head to lick at her daughter again which she knew wouldn't help her daughter cool down but she couldn't help but keep her cubs clean they meant so much to her.

So THAT was why it was so quiet. Angaa was wondering that earlier, and she nodded happily at her mother's words. "I hope you aren't too hot, you are completely shielding me.." She didn't want her mother to faint either! She always worried about everyone so much.. it was a habit of hers.

At her mother's next question, Angaa jumped up happily. She just HAD to do something with her mother, she wouldn't take that experience away for anything. "No I want to go do something with you! I just wonder.. what there is to do?" Since around them there was lots and lots of sand! "Do you know of anywhere? Besides where we usually rest, I haven't found much else besides sand." She smiled at her mother before playing with her tail. Hopefully they could decide on something together.

"I have been here as long as you have and you have done more exploring then I! If you haven't found anywhere then you can be almost certain that I haven't!" She just smiled at her daughter and looked around.

"You don't need to worry about me getting hot, I am white, my fur reflects the heat most of the time anyway. Come on lets go wandering and you can show me where you have explored and we can then maybe explore the areas you haven't explored, ok?" She smiled, her voice was soft like normal. It wouldn't be a bad idea to look around, they hadn't been here long but there was nothing wrong with knowing the prides lands well.

Her mother wanted her to take the lead?! In a happy glee, Angaa pounced a few inches in front of her mother. "Well over this way I found a clump of really awesome rocks, but some of them were too tall to climb. I was surprised to see such boulders around here, but they are comfortable for laying around." With a triumphant nod, she waited for her mother to catch up before continuing.

"Its not that bad that there is no water around here, I am used to that from some of the other lands we traveled by." Everywhere they seemed to go, water was always scarce. "I really want to see the ocean one day, do you think that could be possible, mom?" With bright eyes, she turned and looked at her mother while walking along. "I just have heard how beautiful it is, I hope to go there someday on an adventure."

Kwaruza listened to her daughter talking though she didn't say much in return. She was giggling lots though, oh how she was glad she did get at least one daughter. Girly chats!

"I will take you and your brother to the sea one day when you are a bit older. It is a long journey and it would tire you but one day I shall take you if you still want to go by then!" She smiled down at her daughter before looking around, wow this place didn't have much to explore. Well she was determined to find something!

Angaa looked towards her mother in surprise and quickly started to bounce around her in a happy state. "You really mean that you would lead me there? I am so excited I just have to get older now!" She always thought that finding the ocean could never happen, but with her mother's kindness it seemed as though even that was attainable.

She would have to train herself, since her mother knew best about hard adventures and becoming stronger. "How many times have you been to the ocean before? You must be an expert traveler." There were still so many things she wondered about her mom, and she was gleaming as she cuddled next to her.

"Don't be in a rush to grow up Angaa, enjoy being small you will miss it when you get to my age!" She chuckled softly smiling down at her cub. She couldn't have been prouder.

"I was at the ocean once.. it was where I met your father." She mused on that thought for a little while. He had been a gorgeous chocolate male. She had met him not long after meeting that grumpy leopard who had turned out to be rather fun to be around.

"It is a beautiful place and we shall go there one day but today we must find the secrets of this place, ok?" She took a look around and hoped Angaa would see something. Youngsters always had such a good imagination.

She felt bad for saying such a thing, and she lowered her ears lightly at her mother's advice. "So do you miss being young a lot? You can pretend to be young with me?" With her usual bright eyes, she was watching her mother carefully while worrying about her feelings.

Her father? Angaa knew nothing about her father, so she nodded happily and wondered if it was a touchy subject. "..Father? Father was by the ocean?" That alone felt sort of ironic, since Angaa not only dreamed of the ocean, but she also dreamed of her father. "Father and the ocean are both mysteries to me." she grinned to herself and pounced a few steps in front of her mother.

After a moment of looking around, Angaa saw a strange looking tree, with big things that hung at the top. "Woa, what kind of tree is that!" It kinda looked like a palm, but it had strange plants hanging from it. It seemed one had fallen on the ground, and Angaa ran of to paw at the strange oval thing.

Kwaruza nodded, "Yes I miss being young and being able to curl up to my mothers side, unfortunately I got separated from her and I haven't seen her in so long.." She did miss Churo and she knew nothing of her half siblings that were running around somewhere, maybe one day she would meet them.

"Yes your father was by the ocean, he was a beautiful creature. He looked much like your brother just more brown!" She chuckled and carried on walking before laughing as Angaa ran off to play with something. Kwaruza didn't know what it was so as any protective mother would do she trotted over to keep watch in case it was dangerous.

Angaa looked back towards her mother, who had shared something personal to her. She never realized that her mom had dealt with something like that, and it made her feel sad for her. "I am sorry that happened to you mama. I promise I won't leave you!" And with a wide grin, she still was a bit confused at what that meant, but she hoped she could at least cheer her mother up.

She imagined what her brother looked like, and then sort of had an image of what her father must have looked like! "Wow dad does sound very beautiful then. Mruka is an interesting shade of brown.. so I can kinda guess what color dad was." Turning back to the brown oval under her, she pawed at it quietly before watching it roll away from her. She then chased it by pouncing on it, only to watch it roll away from her again.

"I really like this area.. are we going to stay here for awhile?" It was very peaceful, and she liked it compared to some of the other places they had been. "I bet we could make a lot of friends here."
