The Hand of the Light wields some of the most advanced technology given them by their founder and leader, Thoth. All Hand vessels use Quantum Emergence for interstellar transportation, Field Drives to maneuver, Morennium Armor, and Chronotonic Shield Plating. Hand vessels never cloak and do not often make use of trans-dimensional travel. All Soldiers of the Light receive the Mark of Thoth. Templar also receive Templar Armor, Templar Carbines, and Templar Blades, which they stored through Quantum Compression.

All Hand of the Light resources center on picocytic wraithbone, a form of wraithbone created by Thoth and secreted for the Hand of the Light. This wraithbone matches Mirai picocytes in form and function but is comprised of different materials so that picocytic wraithbone may interact with Mirai picocytes directly, but Mirai picocytes are not always capable of the same. Picocytic wraithbone has an even greater Force Capacitance than its Mirai counterpart and that is its most distinguishing feature. Another benefit of this material is an immunity to the Anti-Force and Thrall radiation, thanks to its nature as wraithbone, a Void material.

Name: The Mark of Thoth

Description: The Mark of Thoth is a picocytic wraithbone device that ties its possessor to Thoth. The more time a person spends in contact with the Mark and draws on the Force through it, the more that person's body is converted into the same picocytic wraithbone as comprises the Mark. As this conversion progresses, Soldiers of the Light undergo visible changes in mannerism and appearance. The first notable affect is the diminished need to blink, eventually to the point that blinking is entirely unnecessary. Concurrent with this, Soldiers have reduced oxygen requires, drawing breath with less and less frequency until this also becomes unnecessary. In time, the Mark allows a Soldier to survive the vacuum of deep space without protection and to no detriment. Less noticeable effects are increased strength, agility, intelligence, reflex, and Force Potency. Also Soldiers' skin will pale to some degree and their eyes take on a silver hue, though this varies with person and is tied to the amount of time spent using the Mark.

Possessing a Mark of Thoth ties a person to Thoth directly. In the moment of a Soldier's death, the Mark will capture that Soldier's Force Ghost and use its energy to fully convert and repair the Soldier's body, allowing him to rise from his First Death immediately as a higher corporeal being. After a Templar's First Death (First Death being a way to rise from Soldier to Templar) the Templar's Mark of Thoth will heal any injury sustained and so that Templar will always rise again when given enough time. The only way to prevent this is to completely destroy the Templar's body, returning the Force Ghost to Thoth, who may reincarnate or absorb the Ghost.

If a Mark is ever cut off from the Force, it contains a minuscule Force/Anti-Force Reactor that will instantly ascend a Soldier to the Calimaite Tier. However, once connection to the Force is regained, which will almost certainly occur with ascension, Thoth may choose to immediately absorb the Force Ghost of the Soldier. Because of this failsafe in the Mark, one of the most common Force exercises of the Hand is a to create a sheer Force Vacuum around oneself, but excluding the body and thus not activating the Mark. Soldiers who fail in this simple exercise are immediately absorbed by Thoth, thus preventing Soldiers from attempting to force their Marks to ascend them.

Name: Templar Armor

Description: Templar Armor is composed of Morennium and has an outer layer of Chronotonic Shield Plating. When not in use, Templar Armor stores itself in its possessors Mark using Quantum Compression. The majority of Templar have black or dark gray armor, but for one unit, the White Hand, Thoth's honor guard, which wears silver-white armor. Templar Armor can act as a Quantum Emergence Drive for its possessor and enables a wearer to survive deep space conditions.

Name: Templar Carbine

Modes of Fire: Emergent; Blade Projectile

Description: The Templar Carbine is a handheld Emergent Weapon that is also capable of firing a 2 cm by 10 cm blade projectile that can steal a Force Ghost from a body and also can use that Ghost to power an explosion through a mechanism similar to a Thought Bomb. Templar Carbines also have internal attachments that link them to any local Void Wells so that they can function fully even in the presence of a Well-generated dampening field.

Name: Templar Blade

Description: The Templar Blade is a picocytic wraithbone device that can take the form of any melee weapon. Templar Blades deposit microscopic amounts of picocytic wraithbone in the wounds they leave. The wraithbone acts to tie the wounded to Thoth and will capture the Force Ghost of its victim upon that person's death.

Model Number/Ship Designation: Ship of the Line to the Hand of the Light

Name: Temple of the Light

Length: ~800 m

Beam: ~500 m

Height: ~300 m

Crew Capacity: No crew needed

Accomodation: 3 Million Soldiers of the Light

Company: None

Powerplant: Picocyte Circulatory System; Void Well

Propulsion: Field Drive; Quantum Emergence Drive

Armament: Emergent Weapons Array - An Emergent Weapon capable of tracking and attacking many hundreds of thousands of targets simultaneously

Defensive Features: Chronotonic Shield Plating; Void Well Dampening Field - maximum range of 0.25 Parsecs

Special Features: Quantum Gateway Array - Quantum Gateways are a method of teleportation stemming from Quantum Duality and requiring significantly less energy than Quantum Emergence. Rather than creating a Duality in a large area, Gateways minimize energy expenditure by only creating a Duality in a two-dimensional sheet large enough for the object to be teleported to pass through safely. This sheet typically has a thickness comparable to a subatomic particle. Due to the energy involved and the comprehension required, Gateways can only be formed by an Array or a Calimaite or a Silveren guiding the directed energizes of a group of Soldiers.

Void Well - The Void Well is a device designed by Thoth and supposedly based on the Void Core powerplant of the Protoss ship, though no other Mirai has been able to access information regarding the Core (It is possible that Zero-One is withholding this information for being incomprehensible to the Mirai, but unlikely). The Void Well generates a powerful dampening field in local space that acts on energy levels above a certain density and intensity within its area of effect. Energy levels that exceed the field threshold become the focal points for quantum scale wormholes to the Void. These wormholes persist for the duration of the energy exceeding the threshold and then cease as the energy falls below that threshold. The energies released into the Void are captured by the Void Well and made available to the Temple, effectively stealing all significant amounts of energy within the field and giving it to the Temple. The spatial and temporal ranges of the field and the threshold for energy sapping can be set by the Temple. Standard protocols call for a field radius of fifteen astronomical units with a threshold just above H/He plasma so that all known energy weapon discharges and energy shields or energized armor plating are nullified. The primary reason for the existence and use of this device is the Hand's preference for Templar Blades over Carbines and the use of their Emergent weaponry. Void Well dampening fields are trans-temporal and trans-phasic, acting on any energy in normal space within the radius of the field. Force energy is not absorbed immediately because the Force is a part of the Void not normal space, but any Force energy incident on Normal Space, such as a Force Bomb, Force Shielding, or a Force Reactor, would be affected by the field.

Temple Guardian - A Temple Guardian is a Force Presence inhabiting a Temple. The Presence is thought to be an extension of the Living Force that protects the Templar belonging to that Temple. While this has never been confirmed explicitly by Thoth, it has been alluded to as the most visible sign of all Soldiers' connection to Thoth. The Temple Guardian is known to be a clear link between a Temple and all its Templar through the Force. It is a medium for communication and protection.

History/Description: The Temple of the Light is the ship of the line for the Hand of the Light. The Temple has a Cathedral like appearance with a long, cruciform main body that has two wings, like the wings of a building, extending out to either side. The joint of the main body and wings has a large circular section with a tower rising up from its center. Thus, there are six sections: the Main, the Round, the Vault, the Tower, the East Wing, and the West Wing. Facilities in the Main deal primarily with general affairs of the Hand, such as teaching and administration. Within the Round are the vital facilities of the ship as a vessel, such as power management, weapons, life support, and engine systems. The Wings hold the residencies of all but the Lord Captain, the Temple's CO who resides within the Tower. The Tower is the command center of the ship, its forces, and any local Hand assets of lesser rank. The Vault is the ship's armory and also acts as the staging location for all the ship's deployments. In addition to a Temple's own trans-temporal sensor systems, Temples can link to the HyperNet or eachother to increase their effective systems range.

Name: Emergent Weaponry

Description: Emergent Weaponry is a weapon designed by Thoth related to the Quantum Emergence Drive. Emergent Weaponry uses a process similar to Quantum Emergence to directly convert matter to energy or amplify and re-orient the energy of existing energy complexes. While the specific process is unknown even to members of the Hand, it is known that this technology uses energy provided by either the Force or siphoned from subspace. The range of Emergent Weaponry is only really limited by the targeting systems used to fire the weapon though it has similar energy requirements to those of Quantum Emergence.

The Lace of the Force

There is a region of the Void permeated by the Force. This is the Plane of the Force. It is the convergent point of all Force Entities and the pool from which they draw their power. All Templar are taught of this place. It is through this realm that Force Slip travels and it is this place that the Living Force may show a Force-User through Midi-Chlorians or picocytes. This is the source of the Force, but in the case of corporeal beings or life forms in normal space, they are too far removed to directly access or control this energy. Thus a Force Entity, residing within the Plane of the Force, may extend a portion of its own energy to touch Normal Space. Normally, this is the extent of Normal Space beings' contact with the Force. Thoth has trained the Templar, all Nascent Force Entities to some degree, to extend their awareness of the Force, already heightened by their Mirai roots, to become aware of the pure Force energy of the Plane. The energy of that plane may be used to affect Normal Space with varying degrees of directness in such a way that it corresponds to the four physical states of matter and also as pure energy. The Templar have named these five bands of Force according to traditional names for their apparent effects: Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Spirit. A Templar is able to wield these flows directly, without the intervention of a Force Entity, but only to a limited degree (that grows with higher Tiers). Typically, this is referred to as Weaving threads or flows of the Force. Each of the different types of flows has different effects and different flows may be interwoven to produce new effects. The benefit of Weaving is primarily that other Force-Users, even Mirai, cannot tell what is being done by Weaving, only that the other wields the Force (like when a Force-User facing someone empowered by a different Force Entity). However, two Weavers are able to see the threads that they each wield. Another benefit of Weaving is the ability to 'tie off' flows of the Force. Tying off flows will allow them to remain almost indefinitely unless directly opposed by other Force energies or the flows are untied by a Weaver. Also, Weavers may hide their tied off flows from other Weavers by 'inverting' their flows, sinking them into the background of the Plane of the Force.
