Katiti was enjoying a very rare lazy moment for once. With the addition of a third litter (Identical in number, even down to the number of girls versus boys!) she wasn't getting much sleep lately, and grew tired slowly but surely of being her little sisters' and brothers' climbing, chew toy. She'd elected to take a nap by the watering hole where she knew for sure that her siblings weren't allowed to wander to yet.
Thankfully, and perhaps the only good thing, was that they didn't have teeth THAT sharp yet, but those little pin pricks did hurt still. Kati thought grudgingly as she nursed her tail with a few careful licks.

A long stretch, paws splaying against the grassy earth, tail curling over his back, a broad yawn parting his jaws. Mmm, sunlight, peace and quiet, too much quiet. Orange eyes shone with mischief, a sly smile on his maw. Energy, he seemed to have an excess of it today, unequalled by the morning romp that had only tired out his maned wolf friend. He needed something to do, someone to play with, he needed to make some noise.
He hopped with a bound, leaping after an insect for a brief moment, pouncing left, then right, then back again. And then the bug was forgotten, eyes falling on more interesting prey. Ah-ha, he knew that tan spotted form, the young lioness that had so rudely awakened him from a peaceful dream not so long ago. His stance lowered, the grin spreading across his maw, tail flicking in his steps as he stalked forward, a few steps then a pause, another few steps, silent in his hunt.
Close, just a little closer, he charged, lunging toward the young lioness, soft paws extended in a tackle. Oh yes, revenge was his.

She continued on for a moment oblvious, but then paused, lifting her head from her grooming to look out over the grasses. She could've sworn she was being watched, but the moment passed so quickly that she had to dismiss it as someone just staring into space and moving on. It happened often in these lands as populated as they were, after all. Ignorantly, she went right back to her task at hand, that is of course until she became abruptly aware of the charging mass of black and white. With a hiss she rolled onto her back and splayed her paws up, but quickly sheathed her claws as she recognized who it was. With a winded grunt, Katiti tried to shove the male off, exhaling with a small wheeze.
"Ow! You dork! What did you have elephant for breakfast?!"

It was with delight that he collided with the lioness, sending her sprawling to the earth as she had once done to him. With a broad smirk, he stood over here, tail lashing, pinning her for a moment, as if he had caught the prized prey. So much for a quiet day, ah, revenge was sweet.
“Nope, I ate a zebra, and hello to you too.”
He stayed as he was a moment longer, savoring his victory. Finally satisfied, he released her, stepping back so she could get up. Paws shuffled, as if he thought to pounce again, or perhaps he was simply preparing himself for the counter-attack to come. Oh but he would be ready, and if it was a wrestling match she wanted, he would be happy enough to oblige.

The lioness glowered up at him as he kept her pinned, but not one to hold a grudge so much as one to get payback, the moment he moved and put enough distance, she lunged in retaliation, aiming to tackle him onto the ground with a practiced roar of play. Hey, it was a welcomed, unexpected distraction, and she was grateful for an opponent that she didn't have to worry about scaring or hurting due to their smaller size.

He would have stuck his tongue out at her if she’d given him the spare moment to, if only to taunt her further. But she did not disappoint, and he was ready for her, rolling backward as she talked him, using his momentum to continue the roll, hind legs kicking at her underside, hopefully enough to flip her onto her back again.
“Hah! You fight like a girl!”
It was a taunt, a teasing comment he might have tossed at his brother in the many games they had played. This was the way to spend the day, filling the pridelands with the sound of energy and cubbish games.

"Bet I'll kick your a** all the same!" She retorted arrogantly, landing on her back with a resounding thump but never minding that he had her pinned. She swept for his hind paws with her own with a playful but loud growl, wrapping her forepaws around his legs to try to steal his balance completely by ripping his support away.

“You wish!”
Her plan would backfire, that is unless she had wanted his full weight to fall on her. His balance thrown, the lion staggered, falling against the lioness, his weight pushing them both into the earth, hind paws sprawled behind him.
Shaking his head to clear it, he scrambled to his paws again, growling with a head-butt aimed at her chest, hoping to force her into releasing her grip on his forelimbs. Okay, she was good, he’d admit that, but he was still taking her down.

"Ooff! Ugh, just a Zebra, right?" She scoffed skeptically past winded breath. Gods but it felt like he had more than that! So she'd been aiming to bring him down sideways and that hadn't quite worked, but she could still use this.
Releasing his forepaws abruptly, Katiti-bia rolled swiftly to the left to get out from under him as he aimed to headbutt her chest, using the momentum to find her paws again.
"Hah! Little slow aren't we old timer?" She crooned with a wide sarcastic grin, tail swaying tauntingly calm behind her.

Missing his target but the goal still achieved, Shin jumped backward, on four paws again, circling one way then the other. Hmmm, she was smaller, but she was fast, not that she was faster than him or anything, hmph! But her words made him pause, orange eyes gazing at hers with mild indignation.
“What? I’m not that much older than you! I’ll show you slow, little girl!”
It may have been exactly what she wanted, a predictable reaction from a silly boy. He lunged, forepaws spread before him, head held high. Were he to catch her, forelimbs would have wrapped around her neck and chest, momentum carrying them both to the ground in a bear hug tackle. Let’s see her get out of that!

Hah! He took the bait, it was almost more than she could've expected, having thought he'd be sharp enough not to be taken so easily by the taunt. Maybe he had a thing against being called old, maybe he was just hot headed, whatever the case she had an opening that she wouldn't miss now. She had a faster advantage than he might give her credit for, having been the last of seven she was on the smaller side, so though she was lacking in might she usually made up for it in agility.
Grinning quickly she ducked low and lunged in, darting for his hind legs while evading his grip. If her attack hit she'd manage to knock him off kilter, but this time she'd get him the way she had last intended, as she batted at his legs from the left at the same time that she tried to dodge from beneath him. He wouldn't pin her this time!

There was little to read into the lion’s actions, no unknown motivation hidden in his charge. It was the same thing that drove every male, that fueled the endless games and competition, he simply did not like to lose. And he certainly was not willing to lose to a girl, especially one who implied otherwise. Though his form was full-grown, and despite all that he had learned, he was still a boy, and boys could be idiots.
A frustrated growl, how could he not be fast enough? He could see her, followed her movements, saw her plan, his eyes were fast enough, but his body was not. He wouldn’t let her take him down, no way. Rather than fighting her lunge, he used it to his advantage, taking the strike to his hind legs, rolling as he tumbled to the earth, hoping the roll would carry him to his paws again. He had to stay on the move, if he paused, she would have him, and he did not particularlly care to be pinned either.

"Ho ho... maybe not quite as old as I thought." She smirked, pacing into a circle as well. She was a bit impressed, but not much, she wouldn't let herself get caught off guard, not if she could help it. "But still old."

He snorted, tail twitching with each step, eyes narrowed, watching. Come on, she was no bigger than his brother, and he had always taken him down easily, though now that he thought about it, it had gotten much harder lately. No, he could still win, and then he’d show her, the last thing he ever wanted was for Kivuli to think he was beaten by a girl.
“That won’t work.”
Why did she keep calling him old, he wasn’t that much older than her, his parents, now that was old. Not that he really cared, why should he? Hmph, she was just trying to taunt him into being stupid, he wasn’t going to fall for it this time.
He charged again, paws on the ground, it seemed her favorite move was to knock him off his feet, he couldn’t leave that opening again. His head low, he lunged, this time he would take –her- to the ground.

Katiti was seeming amused by his refusal to be baited this time, and why shouldn't she be? To her this was all one huge game, not a serious wrestling match, even if she did fight to win as if it were. When he charged this time she was ready, moving into a charge of her own, but cried out as she stepped down on a well hidden rock, which managed to jab her painfully right between the paw pads. Her balance lost at that critical point when they would have locked with her attacking from above and him below, instead she slipped down, and-- THWACK.
"AHHHOOOW!!!" She protested loudly in discomfort, stopping abruptly to wrap a paw over her head which was aching as if it were on fire.

He would have her this time, he was sure of. Hah! She had tripped, that meant he was certain too—a sharp yelp as bodies collided, his own skull meeting the sharp bite of bone on bone. Ouch, that hurt, a lot, he staggered backward, thoroughly rung, a paw over his eyes to stop the stars from flashing, but they only seemed to grow brighter. Well that was a rather anticlimactic end.
“Owww, you have a hard head you know that?”
He tried blinking, shaking his head to clear it, but it only made it worse, forcing him to sit on his haunches until the dizziness passed. Note to self, don’t try that again, his head simply wasn’t hard enough, though he had suspicion his sister might disagree with his assessment.
“We’ll call it a draw, but next time you won’t be so lucky.”
There was a smile on his maw, a touch of laughter in his voice. That, was a great way to spend the day, or that’s what he’d think as soon as his head stopped ringing.

"Hey, it takes one to know one, hardhead." She snorted in response, but she was smirking in amusement and in spite of the discomfort.

A snort of laughter, he stuck his tongue out at her, a paw raised in a playful bat, though he didn’t really intend for it to make contact.
“Maybe it does. You’re not bad, for a girl.”
The jest was clear in his voice, tail flicking at his pawss. Okay, now, he was tired, and his head still ached. But that was okay, and though it may not have been the end he had hoped for, it was still all a joyous game, and perhaps, he had made a new friend. Ah, happiness, it had turned out to be a great day.
