There will only be two generals. Generals will always be the leader of the entire army of the Federation or Zeon. Every other rank has no limit. Most people will start off as a Private and slowly be moved up the ranks. The higher your rank the more likely you can command your own squad of three.
Squads:
Squads will ALWAYS consist of a higher ranking officer. The maximum amount of people per squad is 3. Each squad is self sufficient and chooses which battles it can take place in. Those who are in the squad and are not the Squad leader cannot disobey orders. If those lower in rank think their leader is not a good leader they should either:
A) Talk to the general.
or
B) Take out the commanding officer and hope you don't get a court marshall and are shot. Those who frag their leaders or attempt to will be looked at as traitors by both sides so this is not recommended.
Events and other rp occurences
In the battle subforum major events will take place maybe more than one at a time. Each squad decides which battle or operation it wishes to take place in. Once it has chosen which operation to partake in it cannot change its mind, but you can change what you do in the operation if at all possible.
Squads will not be allowed to partake in more than ONE operation at a time. The reason for this is that you cannot be in two places at once (in case you die, which would complicate things). Also it will end when one side has been obliterated, surrendered or the goal has been accomplished.
Ranking up:
Ranking up will occur when you have successfully completed an operation or have done an outstanding deed. This will be decided upon by your superiors.
Death:
Yes it is possible and likely that you will go through more than one RP character. Mobile Suit Battles are dangerous but thats why they made escape pods. You can escape or fight with your last breath its your choice. Most of the time Mobile Suits will be disabled and can be repaired to be used again. This will not cause you to be demoted unless you meet one failure after another. This will also be seen by your superiors. Major Characters like high ranking officers may not die unless its a story plot.
Newtypes:
Newtypes are found not made by doing a profile for one. It will be decided by those above if you are a newtype. If you are found to be one then you will be given a special mobile suit. This will not occur very much and only two Newtypes exist at the time. Myself and Kisuke.
Newtypes have the ability to predict moves before they even occur. Because of this Newtypes will almost always participate in experiments and Major battles. They will also be given an honorable title like :The Unknown Ace or something like that. Watch out if one challenges you (This is the only time god modding is allowed. I'm sorry people but thats how it goes. gonk ))
Mobile Suits:
Mobile Suits can be chosen from the onset of joining. THe higher in rank you are the better the mobile suits that are available to you. If you are a private all thats available is the lowest of the low, but those mobile suits aren't so bad. Many aces in the real One Year War used the Zaku 1 and Zaku 2 till the end of the war, but these mobile suits will not stand up to a Gundam, Newtype's special Mobile Armor, or an Ace unless you are an ace. Lastly Mobile Suits are ranked by tiers and the higher in rank you are the better the mobile suit you can get.
Mobile Armors:
Mobile Armors are different from Mobile Suits. These are basically giant ships that are more mobile than a normal battleship. Most Mobile Armors are given to Newtypes because they are so complex and often intended for them. These will only be given by superior officers to soldiers of the highest caliber. There will be a limit as to how many each side has. The feds do not have many, but they can attempt to capture them. Mobile Armors are superior to Mobile Suits in almost every way and cannot be easily defeated.
Weapons and Armaments:
Beam weapons will always destroy whichever part they hit. If a beat hits an arm its gone. If it hits the torso in anyway the mobile suit is done for. Mobile Suits can take hits from Missiles and Bullets and still survive as long as its not close up or they are hit with a steady barrage. A bullet here and there to the torso will not cause the mobile suit to blow up. THis also applies to Melee weapons. Beam Melee weapons can be defelcted with a shield or another Beam Sword.
Note: 1st Tier and 2nd Tier Mobile Suit Shields will not work against Beams. The Beams will cut through
2nd Note: Rockets can be shot down but this does not happen often and only Newtypes can do it.
Self Destruct Sequence:
If your Mobile Suit has failed you and it is one of the latest models that the enemy should not get their hands on you may Self Destruct your mobile Suit. All Mobile Suits have this function built in just in case. The counter is 15 seconds before it explodes.
Capturing Mobile Suits (Spoils of War rule):
The side that wins the battle has the right to capture any abandoned or disabled Mobile Suits left on the battlefield, regardless of whether the pilot is alive or not. If the pilot of a disabled Mobile Suit is still alive, then his or her allies may recover the pilot, during the battle (use your distress beacon!). No other captures or recoveries are allowed during the battle. Even if a pilot of a disabled Mobile Suit is still alive after the enemy has claimed victory, his allies may not recover him--he is at the mercy of his enemies.
