Lullaby picked his way through the trees and bushes at a trot, his head and tail kept level with his back, eyes and ears alert. There was nowhere in particular he had to be, no one to see and nothing to do, but he was headed in any direction possible. He thought it might be nice to settle in with a pack, but it was hard for him to find the right personalities to be around.

He had lost most of his close friends, but he couldn't figure out why. Somewhere along the way a lot of things had happen to tear them all apart. Some left with their packs, some were killed or died of sickness... and so it went. None left in bad standing, but all left in the end.

And so Lullaby went, alone, searching for a new friend. Maybe someday he would try to find a pack suitable for him, but for now he just wanted his close group of friends back - and if that meant making new friends all together, he would do just that.

She had all the time in the world. Well, all the time until she was dead. Which, with her luck, wouldn't be soon enough.

She was ever-wandering. She'd been in a pack at one time, a lowly omega with a puppy of her own. A puppy that died at her own jaws. Or so They said.

If it was true...why couldn't she remember it? Why would she do that to her beautiful child? As a green wolf once said; she'd had a reason. Everything had a reason.

Bipolar wasn't so sure.

So she continued to run, even years later as midage was beginning to take her speed and her patience.

Ears pricked up at the sound of paws padding through undergrowth and she scowled to herself.

She would never be alone.

The male stopped suddenly, pausing to look around. He was attempting to keep as alert as possible, and so far it had worked. Nervously, he clicked his teeth together. Where had he been going?

Oh, nowhere in particular. Looking for friends. His bright eyes lit up and he made to continue again, halting once more as he heard an out-of-place sort of noise.

He froze, not bothering to turn his head to look around. "Yes?" he asked the area around him, attempting to raise his voice enough for anything present to hear him - it wasn't easy, but he would try anyway.

Bipolar raised her head, the musky scent of a young male coming upon her. Immediately her tail tucked and ears flattened against her violet skull. She was cranky, but she was in the middle of nowhere and not the type to fight.

And she saw him...

Another purple wolf...another omega. But instead of odd markings like her own, his were simple -- a bullseye around one eye, a dappling of white over his hindquarters and on one side, a strange mark...and scars.

And a stub of a tail...

How rare.

She stepped out of the brush, ice blue eyes focusing on him. "I never said anything."

His tail hung limply. There wasn't much left of it anyway, so there was no point in it trying to tuck under his belly. His ears, however, were still intact, and did manage to flatten to his skull much the same way that hers did. There would hopefully be no fighting today...

He flinched a bit when she spoke, though he wasn't sure why. He wasn't scared of her, and he knew he could most likely put her down in a fight, but...

She was just so.. curious. The colors on her pelt were unlike any he had seen before. Even his own mother, who had produced pups of each color of the sunset hadn't been as wildly patterned as this one.

"True," he managed above a whisper, "I figured it was the best way to greet an unknown."

His jaw was stiff with dis-use over many moons. It had been broken as a teen, and never fully healed properly. After the pain of it all had subsided, he used to talk to himself day and night, just to keep it moving and usable... but these days the idea had grown tedious on him, and he was mainly quiet.
