The day was over and the night was coming. The sun dropped over the ocean as the shadows from the trees spread, consuming everything in their paths. The ocean waters sparkled from the disappearing sun and shone multiple colors. The sky turned a lovely blend of oranges, reds, and pinks as did the clouds. It was sunset, an extremely beautiful sight.
A male ulaya was roaming around during this time of day, in search for last minute meals in case he couldn't find anything the day to come. Paws lightly thumped against the ground which stirred up a little bit of dirt from the floor. Whether he liked hunting for food or the sunset background was undecided. For everything for him was undecided and never the same.
Growing tired of his search he found a rock to lay on. The rock was on the side of a cliff that overlooked the ocean. He laid there watching the sky with a blank stare. His paws crossed over another and his hind legs stretched out behind him. To one passing by he would seem relaxed but truthfully he was anything but. He let out a natural sigh, not one of any indication of mood he was in just a simple breathing sigh. One ear was pointed up to listen to his surroundings while they other laid flat against his head.
He simply laid there watching the day turn to night.((XD I didn't know what to call it so if you have a better title let me know and I'll change it. :3))

Koji trotted down the dirt path, watching his feet move as he picked up more and more speed. He didn't know how his feet all worked together to get him moving, but seeing it in motion amazed him. Concentrating too hard on what his feet looked like when they were moving rather than where he was going, he tumbled over a root, and somersaulted forward a bit. There wasn't really a way to stop himself... he was spinning uncontrollably, and what little he saw of his surroundings through the spinning frenzy wasn't enough for him to see anything to grab onto.
He started laughing, realizing this was probably going to leave him with some bruises when it was over. Still laughing, he realized that he wasn't hitting anything anymore, and had stopped spinning. His laugh turned into a yell as he realized he was about to plummet to his death. He had somersaulted himself right over a cliff.

Danjo's upright ear twitched from a faint sound in the distance. His ear angled itself to key in on what it was to figure out if it was a threat or not. After a while of listening he was able to figure out what it was; laughing. Sudden start and stop mumbled laughing. A thumping sound as well. The laughing must be moving, that would only make sense. Danjo turned his head towards the sound to find a hill. His remaining flat ear rose to meet the other and then they both twitched again.
Looking onward he could make out what the moving laughing thing was. From where he was all he could see is that there was a good chance it was an ulaya, and it seemed to be rolling quite fast. As it grew closer Danjo began to rise. Still watching, the ulaya didn't show any signs of slowing down. He was too absent minded at the time to realize that if not stopped soon the ulaya would go right off the cliff.
Well to make it simple there the ulaya went.
Danjo leaped off the rock he was laying on and dashed to the cliff side where the ulaya rolled off. Remaining silent he glanced over the side then started jumping down. He looked for small objects that stuck out from the cliff's side, be it tree roots, tree branches, rocks, etc. Alot of the things he jumped on either broke or he slipped off of it, falling himself. But he dug his claws into the side and hoped he would slide down. He eventually grew close enough to the fallen ulaya to grab a hold. Without thinking he bite down on the closest part of the ulaya's body and locked his jaw, while he grabbed onto the cliff side with all his might.

Suddenly Koji's yell was cut off when he came to a sudden stop. He yelped at the pain he felt in his leg, but when he looked down he figured it was better than what lay beneath him. Looking up, he saw another Ulaya grabbing him with his teeth, and hanging onto the cliff for dear life. "Hey thanks!" He said, grinning at the stranger. He had no idea where they came from, but Koji was eternally grateful - literally. Now the only problem was getting out of this mess. Looking around, he tried to spot something more stable... but there was pretty much nothing. Rather than putting more strain on his savior, Koji dug his own claws into the cliff's face to support himself. "Okay," He said. "You can let go now!"

Danjo stared down as the other ulaya yelped. Glancing around at his surroundings he wondered how long the cliff side would hold for. Hearing the other's request he replied in the same tone that the other spoke in. "You sure? You're going to fall unless supported. You grabbed onto something?" he said with his words muffled yet perky. He glanced to see if it was wise to release his grib and saw that the other was holding onto the cliff side. "Ok then. I'm letting go now!" With that said he unlocked his jaw and released the other.
Danjo's weight was lifted and his grib on the wall was stronger. Before jumping down to save the falling ulaya he never would have thought that the weight difference while grabbing a wall would be so hard to hold. "Come! Let's try to make our way up!" Danjo yelled as he slowly turned around so he was right-side up. Looking infront of him he searched for climbable spots of sturdy ground. "Here, try and follow me unless you find an easier way up for yourself. I'll be searching for sturdy parts of the wall to use." With that suggested he started his climb. Slowly, but quickly, he made sure to grab spots that would hold the pressure the two ulaya will bring.
He looked back every so often to make sure the other was alright. He realized that it might be hard to climb after being bitten in the leg. Not before long he reached the top. The instant he reached the top he turned around and watched the other. Being there if the other ulaya needed him.

Koji was amazed at how fast the other scrambled up the cliff. He picked his way carefully, trying to remember where the other had dug in his claws. He had a couple of slips, but he was almost to the top. His back leg was killing him, he was sure there must be some sort of ripped muscle, but he reminded himself that a hurt leg was better than death.
Finally his front paws reached the top, but he was having a bit of trouble with the back ones pushing him the rest of the way to safety. Looking at the stronger male he asked, "Do you think you could help me up the rest of the way please?"

"Oh! Yes of course!" Danjo replied as he quickly lifted the rest of the other ulaya up. He knew that it was hard climbing with an injured leg. He was surprised that the other had gotten so far on his own. Even though he never helped him climb if he fell Danjo would have been there to grab on again.
"There you go!" He said as the once fallen ulaya was safe an sound. "Sorry about your leg... I wouldn't have been able to grab you any other way without falling myself." He sat down and looked the other over. What a dark color. If it was any darker then sunset it would have been hard to see the ulaya rolling let alone falling. Even the bits of white would have blended in.

"Oh, that's alright." Koji replied. "It doesn't hurt much anyhow. Not as much as it would have hurt to splat on the bottom." He grinned at the other Ulaya. He looked up at the night sky. It was beautiful. "I'm Koji by the way."

Danjo laughed to himself as the visual in his head turned humorous. He hoped his laugh didn't turn out to sound like a rude or mean one. All he wanted a mood lightening one in reply to the others grinning. "Oh I'm glad to hear that." he nodded with a grin of his own. Danjo tilted his head as the other looked up. "Pleasure, Koji! The name's Danjo!" he replied perkily. " I see you take a fancy to the sky? It can get quite a shade of black up there, huh?" he responded as, he too, looked up.

"It's just so big..." Koji said, growing somber. "I heard that some look to the sky for guidance about different things." He looked at Danjo curiously. So much of the world was peculiar to him, and he didn't think he would ever be able to understand all of it. But he was hoping he would find out most of the secrets of the world someday. "Do you think it ever ends?"

"That it is, isnt it." Danjo replied. "Oh? I think I remember hearing something about that once. Never tried it myself though." Danjo turned his head back towards Koji. Whether he really heard about it or not is unknown but as of this moment what he says holds true. "Do I think it ever ends?" he asked himself. "I don't know. I'd imagine it has to end eventually but I doubt I'd ever see the end. So, for all I know it keeps going on and on and on. Do you think it ends?" he questioned back. What did he know of the sky to be sure if it ended. It could end at the point where your eyes cant see to be honest. One may never know.

Koji laughed at the idea. "I have no idea... I don't know if there's a way to find out either." He thought about how someone would be able to find out if the sky ever ended. They would have to travel for a very long time... but then if they just kept on going, they wouldn't know if it would end... and if it didn't end... He shook his head, trying to get the confusion out. "I don't think anyone can figure that out. If it's endless, then how would you be able to tell? If you traveled through the sky, you wouldn't know unless it came to an end." He was a bit confused about it... it certainly was a conundrum.

"Well you could always ask the sky god if it ends" Danjo laughed jokingly in return. Sky God, what sky god. Well, who knows. There very well may be a god of the sky who would be able to answer that question. Even if there is one the chance of you meeting said god would be slim.
"Following what you just said no one would really know. They'd be traveling their who life. They'd probably lose track of time and life and end up becoming a slave into finding the answer themselves." Danjo replied. What a depressing thought. You're whole life searching for something you'll never find an answer too. Once you slave yourself into that question you'll probably never return to normal.

"Well, then I guess it's best to come to the conclusion that it's beyond your knowledge. And if there are Gods, if they wanted us to know the answer to something, then it will come to us." He seemed satisfied then. It was alright if he didn't know things, as long as he realized that some things were impossible for him to know.
"Onto a lighter subject, what are you up to out here?" He had never run into another Ulaya before. The company was nice.

"So true so true." Danjo nodded back. Mainly thinking the entire conversation was rather amusing he stopped as the other did. Though he wouldnt mind knowing the answer himself.
"Hmm? What am I up to?" Danjo tilted his head as he thought. "Well. I guess you can say I'm not really doing anything. I think I was originally searching for food but got tired of that and stopped. But to answer your question I guess I was just watching the sky change." He had forgotten what he was doing or why he was doing it. Vaguely remembering the events prior to Koji's entrance he tried to make up valid reasons for his memory fragments, trying not to make his answers seem false. The rush of helping Koji made him forget anything prior.
"I can ask the same question of you. What brings you out here?"
