Dubwana watched the rain fall from his favourite tree branch. It had been raining for a good couple of hours and surprisingly the black and white lion wasn't soaked to the bones. The branches and leaves above him shielded him from the brunt of the bad weather, leaving the rogue merely damp.
His gold eyes scanned the Savannah, the hunting wouldn't be good today, at least not until the rain stopped. The lion rested his big head on the branch, one of his paws hanging off the tree branch, swinging with the breeze.
"Who knew..." The black and white lion spoke to himself as he thought about his life and how it had changed in the last few moons. He had acquired a lover, albeit a male one, gotten attacked by a crocodile, ended up having a short and impromptu fling with a lioness, and made friends with a cheetah who, he found out later, almost ripped the throat out of his lover- the lion not the lioness. All in all, he had more excitement in his life the last couple of moons than he had in years. Through all the excitement he always remembered a little lioness he had met just when the excitement was starting. She was the first female he had opened up to and that made her special- even if he hadn't seen her since that first meeting. Days like this when he had nothing to do he would wonder what had ever happened to her.

She just happened to be out on the Savannah when the rain hit. Running through the grass, Lumusi looked down to avoid rain getting into her eyes. The rain was brutal today. Even so, Lumusi loved the feeling of the rain hitting her back. It felt so nice and it was so refreshing. Especially with all of this incredibly warm weather, rain was definitely welcomed right now. The lioness had been wandering around for awhile now and she had been unable to find shelter. Where the hell were the trees?
She continued to run through the tall grasses and saw a tree nearby. Thank god. Lumusi didn't even see the lion sitting in it. She just wanted to get out of this rain. At least she wouldn't have to take a bath for awhile...
Lumusi had a great growth spurt recently and she felt new. She could feel a new found strength flowing through her veins and for some reason, she didn't feel like a child anymore. She had grown a great deal since she met Dubwana. She had become a lean and clever hunter and was much more wise then her juvenile days. Sighing, Lumusi leaned up against the tree and closed her eyes. The pitter patter of the rain filled her ears. So relaxing...

Dubwana was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice that a lioness was running towards his tree until she was underneath it's branches. Looking down he suppressed laughter, well speak of the devil. She was definitely older but it was the same lioness he had met not so long ago. Grinning to himself he stood up silently, flexing his paws against the tree branch. Shimmying out along the branch he stopped once there was a patch of free space so that he could drop down to the ground.
The rogue landed on all four paws, just in front of Lumusi a grin still on his face. He was a lot less nervous around females than he used to be. Spending a night with one could do that to a lion. "Looks like someone's grown up" He chuckled, wondering if she would even remember him, he was a big lumbering klutz the last time they met and he'd changed a lot since then.

Lumusi was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she still didn't notice Dubwana up in that tree. The rain distracted her and she let her guard down. Usually, she was very alert and aware of her surroundings but the rain easily disoriented. At the very last second, Lumusi looked up and saw the white lion. Lumusi was startled and jumped slightly when he came down to the ground but then relaxed when she recognized the familiar lion.
Wow. She hadn't seen Dubwana in a long time. Sticking her tongue at him playfully, Lumusi couldn't help but giggle. "Yes, quite the grown up now." She looked him over thoughtfully and then noticed his scar. What the hell... That was a huge scar. Lumusi was a little surprised because Dubwana didn't seem like the type to get into too much trouble... And that scar looked nasty... But she didn't want to pry and he would share if he wanted to. Must be one hell of a story though...
"How have you been? It's been awhile." Grinning happily, Lumusi felt a lot better now. She had few acquaintances and she was always pleased to see them again.

Watching her stick her tongue out at him Bwana couldn't help but laugh, his grin growing. He hadn't meant to scare her- oh well alright, maybe he meant to scare her a little. But he couldn't help it, the opportunity was there and he had to take it. He smiled hearing her words, and gave her a look over as well. She was just as pretty as he remembered, and now he didn't feel the same embarrassment thinking it. Sometimes it confused him, he was most definitely in love with Gouta the sandy lion meant the world to him, but then he also found females attractive in their own way. He wasn't exactly sure what it meant, but he had a feeling it wasn't normal.
Not mentioning his odd thoughts he chuckled hearing her question. "It's been quite a while, and I've been good. Gathered a few nicks and scrapes, fell in love, the usual happenings." He laughed, his mane shaking as he did. When he contained himself he smiled at her.
"What of yourself? Should I be worried about a gang of cubs attacking me?" He smiled teasing her, he knew she was just barely grown up, enough moons hadn't gone by since the last time he saw her. He didn't think she had time to find a mate so quickly, but then stranger things had happened, like himself and Gouta. His smile grew as he thought of his mate.

Smiling, Lumusi hadn't forgotten about Dubwana. Though, nothing much had changed since the last time she had seen him. She had grown up just a little bit... but everything was boring as usual. Tilting her head, Lumusi looked at him curiously as he spoke. "Fell in love?" Lumusi didn't understand what that meant; she knew she loved her family but that was a different kind of love then Dubwana meant. "Who is the lucky lion?" She giggled slightly and was just a little envious of him. Just a little and she hid it well.
"And what do you mean a few nicks and scrapes? That scar is pretty huge." She chuckled and looked at him skeptically. "Hm? Cubs? Hah. Not me. You should know me better than that." She grinned once again but she couldn't get the thoughts of cubs out of her thoughts.

Bwana chuckled at her question and he nodded. "Yes, love." He grinned, love was a glorious thing, and falling in love with Gouta had helped the male with his self-confidence around females- he already had someone to love so it was okay if he didn't make a great impression. He thought back to their first meeting and smiled to himself, he was so awkward! He had matured a lot since then.
Her words brought him back to the present and he grinned. "His name's Gouta, he's a skinny little thing." The black and white lion had no shame in admitting he was in love with another male, he didn't see any need to be. That's just how things happened for him.
The big rogue laughed as she mentioned his scar, he supposed that was more than a nick or scrape. "You should've seen what made it. Some animal called a crocodile, I barely got away with my leg still attached." He glanced back at the big scar as well, remembering the day he received the bite.
He chuckled and nodded, "You're right, I suppose Gouta's talk of wanting cubs has got me thinking that everybody should have a couple." Smiling he shook himself, it was true, Gouta had been asking him about cubs and Bwana wasn't quite sure how to answer. It wasn't like they could have any, at least not without outside help.
