"Mm.....yummy...." The sun-warmed berries were particulary tasty this morning and Nakia had taken full advantage of the bush thick with the sweet treats. Pushing aside several branches with her nose, the silver mare reached and plucked a few more before withdrawing and chewing happily. Swallowing and shaking out a few of the leaves that were clinging to her braids, she licked away the bright-red juice that was clinging to her muzzle.
"So quiet today...it makes one wonder if something is going to happen, isn't it?" She looked up and smiled at a Blue Jay that had been preening it's own wings in the branches of an old oak. In response, the tiny bird mearly chirped at the soquili and continued with it's self-appointed task. Sighing and fluffling out her wings, Nakia decided it was best to move on. Maybe something else would come up soon.....

Dinyin had spent his night at his favourite spot. The next morning arrived with such bright light he woke up burning. "My gosh its hot today." The stallion slowly lifted himself up and dipped himself in the icy river. This relaxed and cooled him down, however he knew once he'd get out, the rays of the star they call sun, will dry up the water and he'll be feeling quite sticky. Perhaps he should stay in the river, he was too lazy to go back to his spot. His legs were getting a bit chilly after a few more minutes in the river. Dinyin sighed, peering down at his dark legs. He didnt want to move, but his legs told him different. Slowly stepping out of the water, he coudl feel the sun already drying it up.
A glance at his dried up and grassless spot made him feel a tad lonely and hungry. The grasspatches werent there to make the spot anymore comfy. "Perhaps it's time to find a new spot," he thought for a bit, "pssh as if." He was just too lazy to find a new area. Dinyin's stomache let out a low growl. "Uh oh." He knew very well he had to move in order to achieve food. "Well, here we go." Stepping into the forest searching left and right for something to eat.

She kept going at a light, but brisk pace with her wings clamped to her sides as she moved through some brush and low trees. Getting them caught on something hurt very much so and trying to get her feathers free without yanking them was a tad on the annoying side. Clearing the obstacles brought a light smile and a sigh of relief as a small clearing came into view, this river a welcoming sight as it glimmered in the sun.
"A drink...I am a tad parched." She spoke with a soft tone as she stepped up to the riverbank. Glancing left and right, she carefully lowered her head and took a long drink from the river; the waters washed away the berry juice clinging to her muzzle and soothed her dry throat.

Dinyin made his way down the path he had been through a million times. He bent down and started away on a patch of grass. The stallion's ears twitched as he heard something quite unregular. A most beautiful voice happen to have flowed by. Only his step aunt can sing out of all his family. This was rare to find a soquili that could sing so well. However, the words he heard wasnt singing, just talking, but if whoever it was were to sing, it'd make quite a melody. Forgetting his hunger, Dinyin made his way back and spotted a mare by the river. She had something quite unique about her, wings. He has never seen wings before..on a soquili anyways. He has only met one other kind of soquili, Dinyin still is clueless to what the other kind was, however she had a horn and he was afraid that mare would've killed him with it. Wings.....that seem harmless, perhaps he could make friends with this mare. Dinyin wondered if she was the one with the lovely voice.
((hehe, I hope you dont mind bout how dinyin likes her voice, it doesnt have to be a feature on her, but to dinyin's ears it is beautiful))

Nakia had just finished her drink when the soft sound of grass crunching underfoot caught her attention. Ears perked, she shifted her gaze just as a stallion came into view.
His strange markings were caught her attention, along with this carefree aura that seem to cling to him. She shifted and stood up straight, keeping her eyes locked on him. This one didn't appear to be a threat...perhaps a hand of friendship towards the other would help ease the silence?
Cocking her head, Nakia smiled at the other in a friendly manner. "Hello there, stranger. I didn't expect to see anyone here today." She laughed softly and tossed her head lightly.

Her voice came once again, and indeed it was her. "Well this is kind of where I spend my nights," he chuckled, looking over at the tree. "You should expect lots to be around you, your voice is attractive, specially to birds." He stepped closer to the river and ducked down for a sip himself. The reflection of the water reflected the clouds above which looked so relaxing and peaceful. Dinyin gazed up at the sky and smiled, then remembered that she had wings. Once again he comes to the question was it rude to ask her about them? He glanced at them then turned his attention back to the mare's eyes. "Wings, to be honest...I've actually never seen anyone with wings but a bird," the stallion gave off a friendly smile. That wasnt so hard, he just hoped that she wouldnt suddenly whip him with her tail if she did find it rude.

Instead of attacking him like he had thought, Nakia simply smiled and laughed at what he said. "Truely? That's strange, I always thought other Wind Soquili like myself were a fairly common sight to see." Glancing up at the sky, a light blush spread across her face at his compliement. "My voice is nothing special..." She looked back at him with neon-blue eyes as her wings flicked slightly. "I simply enjoy the gift of song my Grandfather and Father have passed down to my brother and I, as well as the gift of flight."
Exhaling slightly, she again looked towards the sky just as a pair of birds flew past. "I apologize if I come off rude sounding but...why have you claim to have never seen my kin before?" She was truely curious about what he had said, that question reflected in her expression as Nakia stared back at him.

Dinyin turned back to look at the mare. "Well, honestly I'm not the active kind," he chuckled more, "I dont usually go out there and meet others." He admitted looking down, embarassed about the fact he does not have many friends. "So, I guess thats the reason why I have never seen your kind before." Dinyin returned his gaze up at the sky, until his neck kind of hurt from looking up. Bringing his view back onto her. "Haha, well it is something special to those who does not have such features," winking at the mare. Dinyin had realised he does not know her name. "I'm Dinyin." Bending on one leg to bow down to her. "And you may be?" The stallion leveled himself and swayed his striped tail side to side. Showing politeness as an invitation for friendship. He could see on her back and her back left leg, she owned markings on them. This mare got more interesting to Dinyin by the second.

Nakia giggled at the stallion before returning his bow with a gentle bow of her own. He was interesting in more ways then one...Nakia really liked this Stallion. "My name is Nakia." She smiled. "It's wonderful to finally meet you, Sir Dinyin."
Leveling herself, Nakia examined Dinyin's markings. They were ones of natural coloring...they also seemed to resemble a creature one of the two-leggers had spoken of before. "My features are nothing special, im just a simple mare looking for her place in life." She blushed lightly at the wink before returning with a warm smile.

He enjoyed the laugh she gives. "Nakia, thats a very pretty name for a very pretty mare, miss," nodding adding a friendly smile of his own. "Your place in life? I know mine, under that tree...all day long," his chuckling echoed around them but it didnt last long. "Naw, I'm just kidding." Dinyin wondered what she really meant by her place in life. Was she looking for a place she could fit in? Or was she simply trying to find out why she was born? This interested the stallion.
Dinyin took a step closer to her and tugged at her hair gently with his mouth. "Blue and yellow, colors I have only seen on flowers." His family was completely full of natural colored soquilis, only his aunt was the one different, then again she did not relate by blood to them. The stallion started to walk in circles around Nakia, just for the fun of it. Surprised that he actually is getting pretty active around her.

Nakia blushed slightly as Dinyin laughed out loud; it was like a melody to her ears, soft and gentle but had that deep note that was woven in to accent it. Gently pulling away as he pulled on a braid, Nakia trotted over and sniffed at the tree he had pointed out.
"If you've only seen this color upon the flowers then, maybe, that's where we recieved it from." Nakia smiled at him again. "Then you must have recieved yours from the earth the flowers takes shelter in." It was a deep brown color, one she had yet to see on another soquili. Most of her friends and family possessed different colorings. Shifting a bit, Nakia plopped down beneath 'Dinyin's' and tucked her wings in before grinning playfully at the stallion. "You know...I kind of like this tree now." She winked at him before laughing. "I proclaim that it is mine now."

The stallion chuckled as he stepped over to her. "Yes, Nakia the beautiful flower. And I, Dinyin, the soil which she grows beautifully on." He layed beside her, the side further from the tree. "From birds eye view, you are a flower on earth's surface." Dinyin laughed hoping that Nakia got what picture he had created for the birds and gods above. Nakia's wink made Dinyin feel a jolt in his heart, as if it skipped a beat. Smiling, he nodded at her claim. "Sure you can have it, but promise to leave me some room k?" Dinyin was lazy but surely not greedy. Rolling onto his back, letting his curls touch the grass and dirt under them.
Eyeballs looking left and right, watching the clouds above roll on by so smoothly. "Ahh...watching the clouds...it feels as if mother nature was sending you on a journey, and you are the one moving, not those fluffs above." Closing his eyes, he listened for the sounds around them. The insects that roamed through the grass, the birds chirping their early morning song. The way the wind made the trees and leaves sway. Then her breathing. He was close to her, so close. This made him....happy.

"The flower that grows upon the earth..." She closed her eyes and smiled as her friend laided down next to her. "Perhaps you are something else too...a soul of the earth that dances to the song of the wind?" The image he spoke of caused the young mare to blush and look away. She felt her heart flutter rapidly as Dinyin rolled over; she noticed how his mane laided across the grass...that warm brown seemed brighter against the rich green...
Shifting her gaze to the sky, Nakia saw the clouds drift by. "It's so different, seeing them from the ground then when one is flying amongst them in the sky. They just seem to stand still..." Just laying here under the trees and seeing the world around her, listening and enjoying the quiet moment, it was wonderful. The song that the earth sang, with the voices of the insects and the birds, the music of the trees and him...the silver wind sneaked a shy glance towards Dinyin as another blush spread across her face. His laid-back view of their home and his willinginess to simply stop and enjoy it, and sharing it with her...Nakia felt her own heart skip a beat. What...what was this feeling? It wasn't bad though...it felt good...

He took a deep breath in then let it out as she understood his picture. "A soul of the earth that dances to the song of the wind....I like that," he turned his head to smile at her. As Nakia mentioned flying, he remembered her wings. "Flying, it must be wonderful to be able to touch the sky." Thinking he saw that she was looking at him. He rolled onto his side to face her. "To be able to feel them clouds brush against your cheeks," he said as he stared at her. Dinyin couldn't stop staring at her, even if he wanted to, but he didnt. She seemed so pretty as the sun beams ran across her. As if a goddess sent from heaven, with her wings and golden and blue hair...
The stallion quickly snapped out of it before she noticed him staring and might've found it kind of creepy. He sighed and turned his head back to the heavens. Once more enjoying the clouds, one cloud looked especially like a heart. A message from the gods? Dinyin thought, peering at her from the corner of his eyes. This was new to him, he hasnt met many mares out there, but this feeling was unmistakebly unique. Dinyin felt all warm inside. He faced the other way from her and quietly whispered to himself "Shes the soul that flows through my heart," clearing his throat right after. Returning his gaze to what he expected was a nice clear blue sky. It was, except the sun was now almost above them. Dinyin blinked a few times and turned his head towards her.

Shifting into a more comfortable position, the beads woven on bracelets on her forelegs clicked together softly as Nakia stared at Dinyin with gentle eyes before lifting her gaze back towards the heavens. The memories from her first taste of flight came back into her mind and a warm smile appeared. It had been the most amazing time ever.
Her father's gentle voice calling out advice and encouagement... Her brother's laughter as he darted in and out of the clouds... Her own soul rising towards the sun itself...
Pulling herself out of the memory, Nakia stared back at the ground with a strange expression of longing. "Yes, it is a wonderful experience but, what I loved most about it was the bonds we shared that day." Glancing at Dinyin, she noticed how the sun highlighted the warm brown of his mane and fur. The pendant hanging from his neck shimmered slightly in the light; she blinked and looked in the other direction before he could notice her own staring. Nakia had met quite a few stallions during her travels but all were considered friends to her...but what made Dinyin so different? His cough sliced into her thoughts, jarring the young mare back to reality. Blinking, she turned and stared down at her companion, who happened to be staring up at her.
"Uh....um...." That same blush from before come into view upon her face. "I-is something wrong?" Why was she stumbling over words? What was...was it...that same feeling was nibbling on her heart before?
