Bang, bang, bang--reconstruction going on! Hopefully, there will be more art and more character-fleshing out soon. Please have patience.Come in, come in out of the rain. Hang up your coat and take off your shoes--come flop on the soft couch over there and have a cup of hot cocoa. Welcome to the House of Mist. A haven for foxes of all different backgrounds--whether they be conflicted AI, war-torn Spartan, or just a lost and wandering warrior. This is a safe place, a fortress, a house where any noodle can feel welcome. General Information: Name: You'll never know. Aliases: Geyser Eelborn, Geyser, Gey Gender: Female Age: Can drink. Don't. Quote: "...It makes sense in context." Likes: RP, fantasy, sci-fi, Red vs. Blue, pirates, the ocean, storms, redwood forests, Transformers, bright/contrasting colors, robots, creepy stuff Dislikes: N00bs, spoilers, purists About: First started cruising the B/C in January '08; joined TLN in June or so of that year. I've somehow become an old-timer/regular in all that time! Became a colorist in July '11.
In real life, I'm now a college student in northern California. I'm studying marine biology, so as a science major, I really shouldn't be on Gaia as often as I am. I may be a little spotty on my time here, especially when I'm coloring or drawing.
In-character, I'm a chef at the Lucky Noodle Shop and use money from mysterious means to fund the House of Mist. Most of the residents either roll their eyes at me or dislike me, so I don't spend much time there.
Bilbo and Jacob suspect I'm a gym leader, for some reason.

The House of MistRooms colored with character's RP color; from left to right, first floor, second floor, third floor The House of Mist is a large house about a mile from the outskirts of town—a brisk walk from the Lucky Noodle Shop. It is surrounded by a very large meadow of tall grass, full of wild rabbits and dotted here and there with shrubs. A path leads across it, wide and worn, but not paved, so not exactly a road. All around at the edges of the meadow can be seen dark trees, and from a distance, the House appears to be in a sea of grass. Closer to the house—about thirty feet around the house in all directions—the grass is trimmed, and a grove of ancient oaks lies to the south of the House. In front of you can be seen a wide deck with deck chairs, a barbecue, and a porch swing. The back entrance of the house, it is more commonly used than the front, which is grander and sports a porch. To the left is another entrance to the house, although this is just a simple door in the wall. This is a private door that leads from Fogstep and Cathair’s room to the outside world so that they can leave their room quickly in the morning to hunt rabbits. The House of Mist has three floors of official living space, but there are five actual floors: the cellar/basement, the ground floor, the second floor, a smaller third floor, and the attic. Not far from the porch, an outside entrance to the cellar can be found—it is usually locked, but from the inside, as the cellar serves as the living space of Jamie Wyer. Walk up the steps of the porch and into the house, and you are greeted by a huge room that stretches out in front of you. At this end is a spacious kitchen, at the other a cluster of comfortable couches, futons, sofas, chairs, and a TV. There’s even a fireplace near the center, the chimney suspended from the ceiling three storeys up. That end of the common room is considered to be the “living room” end; this is the kitchen and dining room area, as is evident by the long table that stretches across it pointing from this door to the main entrance. To the right lies the north end of the house—nine big rooms with entrances facing the common room. Not all of them have windows—this has been a bit of an issue when quarters get cramped at the House. Almost everyone wants a room with a window. It is generally agreed that flying noodles get first priority on rooms with windows. Besides there being more rooms, there is little to comment about the north end of the house—there is one entrance outside, but it comes out of Sherman Whitman’s room. He uses the door as a way to leave the house late at night for his shifts and lessons at his father’s clinic without disturbing anyone. Walls are thick here and are decorated with paintings, drawings, bulletin boards, all of them hung up by the various residents. Some of the inner rooms have windows as well (although the view is nothing much, of course). Each hall ends in a window. To the left of the common room (coming in the back entrance) is the south end of the House and the stairs. The stairs lead up to the second storey, where the space above the common room is ringed with balconies. Up another floor is the third floor, which is smaller than the rest and has only two rooms: rooms for the gods. As a result, this storey is taller than the rest, and the windows are wide and spacious. A ladder and trapdoor next to the wall of Sproutling, the God of Salad’s room, lead to the attic above. Currently, the House of Mist is full to the bursting, so Geyser has agreed to fund a new building that will be connected to the other via an enclosed catwalk. The new building will be to the southeast and be more airy, more open. The plan is that it will be a home for the noodles who are more at home in the elements. As well, there is some other construction going on at the House, mostly to reduce the larger rooms or build extensions.

The Environs The House of Mist is named for the mist that rises in the meadow, for the mist that crawls across the river, for the mist that wanders through the trees. Flowing in front of the House of Mist is the Lung Yang River, a sprawling body of water that wanders its way down to the sea. It’s possible, if you start just before dawn, to row a canoe down the river to the sea and back again, finishing just after dark. With that in mind, a deck walkway leads to a dock where several boats are moored—small sail boats, a couple paddle boats, two canoes, and three kayaks. A boathouse to the south—downstream—holds the shells of more boats and those that are not set out. A few of the noodles enjoy spending time there. Off the dock is some good fishing; and the water is clear enough that parents don’t mind their children going for a swim. The river is widest just upstream of the House; in the center of this widening is a moon-shaped island called Dragon Island. Several groves of trees, pines mixed in with the deciduous trees, grow on the island, opening up in the center to a space with fallen logs ringing a campfire pit—those residents of the House without children meet there regularly to chat and sing.
On the other side of the river are the Lung Yang Woods—like the Dragon Island copses, these are deciduous trees such as sycamores, oaks, and a few other types mixed in with pines and the occasional fir tree. There are many plants there, too—manzanita shrubs along the top of hills and ridges and herbs growing everywhere, if you know where to look. Deer wander through the woods, birds sing in the trees. Above, raptors can be seen catching thermals, and the scurry of mice can be heard. At night, if one cares to stand still and silent enough, one can hear all sorts of animals—bugs, raccoons, possums, and other denizens of the night. The woods are alive—all the more alive for the Wilderness God living across the river.
A long ridge lines the river starting from the upstream end of the wide part of the river to half a mile downstream of the dock. At the widening of the river, the ridge rises to its highest point, dubbed Ranger’s Lookout by the residents. Beyond that is a shallow, bowl-shaped valley filled with more trees. Regular wildfires keep the woods airy, even in the valley. A pond in the middle is fed by a creek that trickles and gurgles its way from the hills surrounding the valley. Beyond that is more wilderness—wetlands here and there, woods almost everywhere—beauty all around. Further north—upstream—of the house by about three and half miles is a large, beautiful lake with even more good fishing to be had. Except for a brief portage, the lake is even accessible by the river by a series of streams and tributaries.
Back across the river, back towards the House of Mist, other buildings have popped up around the house—sheds, workshops, even a gazebo where some of the members of the House of Mist enjoy holding tabletop roleplaying games. Pi has a shed where she makes ceramics and houses her kiln; Pwn is building a mews for her falcons. Ebony has set up drying racks for herbs, and the Spartans long ago set up a target range where they practice their skills. They’ve also set up a garage with a couple vehicles: three Mongooses and a Warthog that lost its back gun. Bored and seeking to reconcile with her housemates, Eileen has set up a workshop where she is designing a new weapon for the stripped Jeep. Upstairs, Rebel's Ambition has set up a private workshop with a modest-size furnace and its own private generator; he now lives there and needs the energy for recharging at night. Most of these are by the north end of the house, where a road leads from the garage to the main path, which is just barely wide enough for the Warthog to drive down. In all, the surroundings of the House of Mist are a mixture of wild and tame, modern and ancient—a home.
