Patch sat on a large grey rock practicing her roar. "Grrr! Grrawr. Mrrrow!. Squeek!" She put her paw to her mouth, imbaressed by her tiny high pitch roar. She tried to make up for it with one more try. Patch took a huge deep breath and just as she roared thunder cracked above her. The lightning looked like veins flooding across the sky. Within seconds the sky was dark and the air was thick and humid. Patch had witnessed rain befor, still unsure of what it was, but never in her life had she seen the sky look so angry. Her heart pounded and she hugged the rock for safety.

As Kahawa walked through the bushes, exploring the savannah, his eyes spotted dark clouds in the horizon. It was te first time he ever saw such a scene. Scared, but still curious about this strange sky he sat wathing. But suddenly the clouds spit a flash of light to the ground. Kahawa crawled deeper in the bushes, too scared to run away.
He had never seen such a thing. It was like the heavens were spitting fire out of anger. Kahawa stayed where he was, softly mourning in hope of someone hearing him.

Patch shivered. Her eyes were closed tightly and her ears pointed straight up. Her wimper was echoing with the growling of the sky. "But wait," Patch opened one eye in curiosity."That's not my wimpering. Is there someone else here?" she mumbled to herself. She was afraid to move but she needed to know who else was there. She stood, unhooked her claws from the rock, and then walked against the wind into the thick grass. "Anybody here?" she called. The thunder crashed behind her against the rock she was holding onto moments befor. The fur on her tail stood on end.

The bushes were rustling in the strong wind. Kahawa had himself curled up like a ball to protect himself, still whimpering softly. The wind blew hard in his ears and all he heard was a vast rumbling sound.
Kahawa put his paws over his ears in an attempt to stop is when he heard another sound. It was deeply buried in the raging wind. Kahawa did his best to listen and heard a voice calling. He tried to see from which direction it came and then spotted a tiny black figure next to a rock in the distance.
At that moment a bolt of lightning hit the ground. Practically on the spot where the figure was standing.
'Oh no! Maybe he got hit!' Kahawa said to himself.
He stood up with shivering legs and jumped out of the bushes and walked slowly towards the rock.

Patch saw the other cub walking toward her. She was so relieved that she wasn't alown. She ran up to the cub, running against the wind. Patch struggled to keep her eyes from spilling out tears. Then without hesitation she leaped and hugged the cub she'd never met. "Thank Zahina your here, I was so scared!" she stated. She knew later she would look back at this event and realize how awkward it was, but at this moment she was too worried to think straight. Usualy Patch was a every proud and self-supporting cub, but today the weather was able to bring out the scared little cub that she really was inside.

As he came closer, Kahawa noticed the figure was another cub. It came running towards him and before he could realize he was lying on his back with the other cub standing over him.
It was a girl with greenish fur. A bit overrun by this sudden hug of her Kahawa rolled over and put himself back on his feet.
"Did t-that thing... hit you?" He stuttered. He had never meet a cub his age before and he wasn't sure how to react on this.

Patch shook her head. She was relieved and happy to be unharmed. "No, it barely missed me" she said showing the other lion her tail, which had a burnt tip and little smoke cloud coming from it. "How about you? Are you ok?" she asked in a concerned tone. She looked at the other lion cub. His colors were so vibrant and his birth marks were radiant. She didn't want to overwhelm him with questions but she had so much to ask. The storm continued to devastate the sky above them.

"Well, Im okay too." Kahawa replied to the other cub. The corners of his eyes still focused on the burnt tail. He was happy he wasn't alone in this horrible weather. He looked at the other cub. "Maybe we should find some shelter before the ground gets hit another time!" As the words were coming out of his mouth the sky rumbled and another flash come down the sky. "And quick!"

Patch nodded. "I agree 302%," she announced. "Any place in perticular? Cause I don't care where we go as long as it's away from here." A shiver of fear whent down Patch's spine as she thought of what could happen to them if they stayd out in the storm.

"I know an old underground burrow near here. It isn't used anymore and safe enough I think." Kahawa replied. "It's that way." He pointed his tail in the north-west direction. "Just follow me!" he called as he started to run. The winds were blowing wildly and Kahawa had to squeeze his eyes together and struggled forward through the storm. His ears constantly annoyed with a high note.

Patch held onto the tip of the other cub's tail with her little fangs. She didn't know where they were going because her eyes were snapped shut. She just trusted that the cub knew where he was going. "By te way. Mu nahme's Patch," she said finding it hard to talk and pronounce words wile holding onto the cubs tail. The wind pushed against them making it very hard to run. She wasn't sure if it was her fear or the thrill of running but as the wind rushed thru her fur, Patch had a large rush of adrenaline flow thru her body. She felt like se could run faster and faster and never get tired. It must have been quite a strange sight to see these two cubs running like this.

Kahawa bravely struggled forward with Patch hanging on his tail. The wind blowing in his face. "Im Kahawa!" He replied back to Patch. Kahawa put his nose near the ground trying to find the scent of the burrow. He had been there recently so his scent marks had to be present. For once the weather worked in his advance. Blowing the scent right in his nostrils so he could follow it. In his exciment of picking up the trail Kahawa started to run faster. The scent became stronger and the burrow slowly appeared in the distance. "There it ish!" He called. The two cubs crawled into the burrow and Kahawa sat down panting.

"Kahawa, that's a cool name. It's very unique. Does it mean anything?" Patch asked. She was very greatfull. The little burrow was perfectly sized and it kept out the weather. "Thank you so much. I really owe you," she said. She began brushing her fur. The wind had curled and knotted her hair. Useually she wouldn't mind looking a little messy, after all she was a cub. But today she wanted to look pretty and polite to make a good first impreshion.
The eye of the storm grew near the burrow. With the eye came bright beams of light from the thunder and the sun trying to sneak thru the clouds, which flickered by them like a million stars touching the ground.

Kahawa had stopped panting. "Well, my name means coffee. It's quite unusual I think. And you don't owe me that much, I was happy to help!" He looked at patch licking her fur.
Kahawa was happy he'd finally met someone and it gave him a warm feeling from the inside. Now he wouldn't have to wander the plains on his own anymore. Patch seemed like a really nice cub. But then a question came floating above in his head.
"Uhm, if I may ask... how did you end up here alone?" he asked Patch.

Patch had to think over the question Kahawa asked her for a few seconds. She had no real answer in her head. "Well... I'm not sure. I've been alone since I can remember. It's no problem really. But I am glad to meet you," she said. This was her excuse for her clumsy and wacky attitude wile talking and playing with other lions. She raised herself and was unsure of the proper etiquette with other lions. Despite all this, Patch was overjoyed to have a new friend or acquaintance.
"So, how-about you? Your not alone are you?" Patch asked.

(Patch just got accseped into a pride so she's not really alone but since we stared this befor the pride i thought I'd make it so she's not in the pride yet. To keep it all in order in my head.)
