Hoo whoo hooo

A small, yet sturdy figure landed heavily on a thin limb, causing it to sway as he steadied himself. He was fairly sure this was the place where Cliffside resided. This was evident by the amount of mus deeper into the territory and the young male was fairly proud of himself for remembering just where it was. There had been many things on his mind lately and his meeting with Cliffside had almost been forgotten.

How could he be rude and never speak with the upstanding young Wildtype again? Besides, perhaps he would be a useful aquaintance in the future.

Hoo whoo hooo

He introduced himself again as he stood politely and still on the fringes of the Caterer's territory. He set about preening and setting his reddish feathers neatly as he waited for a response.

It was a busy night for Cliffside. Since early that evening, he'd been working with his team of chirops, indulging himself in another of his military fantasies while at it. Luckily, he had already ended the game by the time a visitor announced his or her entrance. The last thing he wanted was another awkward drop-in!

He called back to the visitor and flew toward the area the voice had come from. As he passed a couple of trees, the chestnut plumage of the other Sentinel came into view. Oh. It was him. The watcher who, like Cliffside, knew which way was up and which was down, in a manner of speaking. Still, something about the fellow had soured on Cliff during their last conversation. Even now, he couldn't put his talon on it.

He wasn't very excited to see the watcher, but a smile came to the keeper's beak anyway. He was determined to present a professional front, since his home was his place of business.

"Greetings, friend!" he said as he landed on a nearby branch. "Foxfeather, wasn't it?"

"Indeed it was." Foxfeather greeted and although he did not lose his air of feigned importance, he did seem slightly more cheerful this evening. Well, as cheerful as he could possibly seem to be. It was the sort of behavior that only a Deep Woods or Wildtype could pull from him, polite.

"I thought I might have taken a turn wrong, but I'm pleased to see I could remember the location of your territory. The mus are a dead give away." He cracked what he considered to be a small joke and roused his feathers comfortably after the long flight from his last position. He was unaware that his mere presence was enough to cause the Wildtype discomfort, as he considered himself to be grand company for anyone who was not an aberrant or in a cross type relationship.

"Have you been fairing well in the area? I was just scoping this part of the forest out and whatnot. I figured I might make a tradw tih you while I was here, hmm?"
