Taranis yawned, stretching happily and swishing his tail to the side, loving the flash of red, yellow, and orange he saw at the tuft. How, how proud of his glorious fur he was. He was just.....so damn pretty. It was mid-evening, sun going down, and it was getting cooler. Taranis liked this time, his fur reflected the fading sunlight in every way with all its oranges, yellows, pale whites, reds, and finally black. All summed up in those striking violet eyes of his. Yes, he liked this time because it got colder and because it made him look his most stunning. How sad that this time of day was so fleeting. Stretching again, he looked down into a pool of water, grinning at himself, and then leaning down to take a drink, swaying slightly and contently as he did.

He hoped he didn't meet any little peons tonight. Some of the packs were nearby, and they were so tiring to deal with sometimes. Intelligent Helix's, well, they were welcome company for when he occasionally got lonely. He usually couldn't stand stupid ones. Flopping to the side, Taranis looked up at the sky as it turned from all it's beautiful fiery colors to the cool, dark colors of the night. Licking his paw absentmindedly, he thought he smelled something, and lifted his head a little, huffing and then laying it back down again. Why bother if it was another Helix? It took a lot to impress him. Either the very intelligent, or the exquisitely beautiful. He was looking for a mate with both, personally, male or female. He couldn't say he didn't want pups, but oh well. If his special person he clicked with was male, so be it. Pity though, that he couldn't make more beautiful puppies with his lovely coat.

"Ah....it's so nice and peaceful here.....goddess only knows some idiot is going to ruin it. Probably one from another pack.....I swear, you're neutral and don't want in on their silly fights and they jump on you as if you were either the enemy or their new secret weapon.....bipolar idiots," he huffed, rolling over onto his back and letting his legs fold on top of him, swishing his tail back and forth idly.

"This place is much too... inhabited..." the shadowy helix huffed, pausing momentarily to gaze at a small pack. The few gangly youngsters, newly set-out on their own, noticed nothing of his presence as he glided through the dense forest. They all seemed so happy and playful, loping around with frisky nips and hearty yowls. But what did they know of sorrow, of pain? Most likely, the worst thing that had ever happened to them was separation from their parents.

But Armand had been through much, oh so much. How was he supposed to feel when he had truly loved someone all his life, that one special master, who had intentionally and deliberately left him? For his own good, supposedly. But no matter how dark a heart, it always had the slightest capability for love. Of course, Armand’s heart had been ripped from him very long ago, draining the very essence of mercy and innocence from his soul. No longer did he feel the happiness and warmth of love; rather, he was engulfed by the desolation and despair of inescapable, merciless betrayal.

But no time for those needless thoughts. He gave one last disgusted look at the romping playmates, then turned and strode away, his form only a wisp of shadow gliding through the veiling darkness of the dense trees.

A strange scent met his nose at one point, and he paused to lift his muzzle to the breeze, sniffing in one, long draw. Another Helix, he supposed. But this one had a different scent, one all it’s own. It seemed to be young, yet moody and solitary. A strange situation for a young Helix to be in, especially when numerous young packs were always near and accepting new members. But what did Armand care? The intentions of a normal Helix were not on his list of worries, and yet something about this scent drew him on. His feet began to move, slowly, then faster, as the scent grew stronger. This one seemed different in its plain choice of solitude, and sparked a fire of interest in Armand’s dark soul.

“Besides, what better chance to torment an unsuspecting innocent than when one is alone?” he purred to himself in a dark voice as smooth as a river worn stone. His red eyes glowed as bright as blood as he imagined the would-be fear, the disbelief, the pleasure in another’s despair. My, it was enough to make a rare, dark chuckle escape his lips as he glided on, as silently and hidden as a phantom.

Eventually, he ended his search at the edge of a small clearing, his ruby eyes narrowing as he gazed at the sight before him, his dark form hidden in the shadow of the trees. Ah... how beautiful a sight it was, indeed.

Taranis stretched his legs into the air, yawning as he did so. Waking up from a nap did that to you, he supposed. His ears twitched though, as his nose caught something strange. Growling softly, he flipped over, crouching low to the ground and whipping his tail around furiously. How could something have snuck up on him like this? Usually his senses could feel anything around him, and he wasn't suprised. Hadn't been since he was a tiny pup and first left the den. He'd been the only pup of his mother and father's that had decided to leave the Northern pack, and that's how he'd become so solitary and independent. Looking around himself calmly with a hint of anger, he growled, his hackles up.

And what pretty black and golden orange hackles they were. He caught a glimpse of himself in the water again, the light dwindling now until only the bright moonlight remained. His anger dissipated for a moment, as he caught that glimpse and he trotted over to the water, puffing his chest out and swishing his tail. Grinning down at himself, he almost purred with enjoyment.

"Well hello there, gorgeous.....oh, if only the other Helix's weren't so simple-minded, we could go show you off and make the gene pool a little more beautiful, couldn't we?" he preened, walking back and forth, distracting himself until that smell came back as he neared the trees. He sniffed again, blinking in surprise, as if just remembering something vaguely important but not really, and growled again, his hackles again raised. And this time he wasn't going to get distracted by himself. He was well away from the water, you see. Growling at the shadows, his blazing violet eyes narrowed, making a very imposing picture indeed no matter how pretty he was calm.

"Show yourself coward......you smell like dead meat and......something else. It's not like it's hard to notice you......even if I did get distracted, but still! Don't take me lightly just because I'm a Narcissist!" he threatened, unbristling a little as he called himself a self-loving idiot, and bristling even less as he thought to himself it probably WAS just carrion that had been recently eaten and a scent was left on it. It was interesting though.....it smelled like spices and other things he couldn't identify but it smelled heavenly once you got past the smell of death and sorrow all over it. It made him shiver with pleasure, since the Helix was a very smell-oriented individual. His sense of smell was incredibly keen, one of his best aspects really, it had helped him out more than once but now it was crippling him with this wonderful smell that made him want to roll all over it and rub against it almost like a cat to come away smelling like it.

Whatever IT was, anyways. He walked calmly into the bushes, his anger dwindling and his curiosity growing as she smell got stronger, and he blinked as he saw a pair of glowing blood-red eyes. He was transfixed. He'd never seen anything like that before, those eyes were just as unique as his own blazing violet. He was hypnotized, to say the least, and walked slowly up to the eyes in disbelief, feeling another Helix nearby. But the creature was so dark, he just melted into the shadows save for those eyes. Oh, those beautiful eyes. Beauty, obviously, was something that Taranis treasured more than most things. He tentatively walked close enough where their heads were even, and even more tentatively rubbed his cheek and muzzle against the cheek and neck of the other Helix.

Hm. Hard muscle there. It was male, apparently. Ah well, Taranis had no preference between male and female, all he knew was that he loved this scent and he treasured it's beauty. He wanted it.

"Mmmm.....it smells so good.....I want it...."" he mumbled more to himself, even though he didn't realize that the other Helix could probably hear him especially being so close to his ear.

Armand smirked as he watched the other Helix preen and adore himself. A narcissist, for sure! Content and proud of only himself, disgusted and bored of everyone else. He seemed beautiful enough, though Armand imagined his attitude to be one of the most heated in the territory.

Hmm… notice me, little beauty,” Armand murmured, his voice like the beat of a moth’s wings in the darkness. The other Helix did notice his scent, at least, but did not yet show sins of fear. Ah, well. Surely he would discover the Helix behind that scent very soon, and then the fear would erupt. It always worked that way with Armand; He would be as a wraith in the night, observing any helix he desired to observe. When that helix discovered him, they would usually run, or attempt to fight him off. It was always the same, at least for the simpletons. But this one had the capacity to understand his situation, it seemed, for instead of panicking, he seemed… interested. But danger always came with meddling in the affairs of one who had no heart to respect the natural laws of life…

Vampire… that was what they called him, all the ones who had only the mentality to fear. The word seemed cloaked in the shadow of fear itself, and inspired a feeling of dread in all who murmured it. But exactly what did it mean? Armand could sense enough of himself to know that he was different, to know that he had never been “normal.” But he had no special abilities or powers. He simply glowed in the daylight, which he never could stand anyway. However, he could not deny that his heart was darker than others’, it’s expanse polluted with the dread and sorrow of his soul. He had an advanced sense of smell, and could not resist the delectable scent of freshly poured blood, or the creature of whose body promised many pints of the sweet life substance. His eyes were like the eyes of a demon, bloody and brilliant, and yet shone with the light of wisdom and pain of a deceitful life. He inspired fear in others, even when they knew not what he was. And he enjoyed it…

His head jerked as he heard the fall of soft paw-steps. His teeth glistened in the shadows, ivory against jet, his eyes sparkled as rubies. A faint growl tore from his throat, but was soon silenced as a body rubbed up against his. His muscles tensed, and he wanted to growl, to claw, to rip, to attack: But the feeling was the most glorious, invigorating sensation he had felt in a long, lonely time.

A thought abruptly occurred in his mind at the quiet, wanton words of the other Helix. ‘Everything about us pulls you in… our scent, our eyes, our beauty…’ A sly smile came to his face, and he turned his head to gaze into the violet eyes of the other, his own red eyes hard and bright.

Do you really want this, young one? Do you realize the full intent of your words, and how in wanting, you would also have to give? Do you even realize the danger…” he murmured in his deep, dark voice, stepping up to the other and exhaling a long, warm breath upon his neck. His blood red claws flexed in the soft substrate of the forest floor as he fixed his glowing orbs open the amethyst depths of the others, trying to discern his very soul.

Very, oh so very quietly, he breathed, “Do you even know what I am?”

Taranis shivered as he heard a dark velvety voice coming from the other Helix. Oh, it was darker than dark chocolate for the ears. He half moaned, half growled into the shoulder of the dark Helix, twitching his ears and swishing his beautiful tail back and forth. He didn't CARE what this thing was, or if it smelled wierd and made him feel on edge and alert. He wanted it. Wanted to posess it, wanted to tease it, to love it, to own it, to completely dominate it. He wanted the world to know this new smell and new creature was HIS, even if the Helix didn't know Taranis's name, nor he the other's. He didn't particularly like being called 'young one' but he supposed he was still fairly young, he just didn't act like it.

Ah, he was an Alpha in the makings, he was. He knew it too. He was born for greatness. "I don't care about the danger, you beautiful fiend.....all I know is I want you. I always get what I want, because don't I deserve it? Those strong enough to take what they want, should," he answered silkily to the Helix's first question, or was it a warning? Oh god, did it matter, that breath on his neck was making him positively giddy, and shivering with delight. It had been so long since he'd been around other Helix's since leaving his old pack. His parent's pack really. But either way, he'd been quite the desired gentleman, as all the girls thought he was lovely looking, and all the boys that were into that kind of thing knew he'd take them to the top of the pack one day. But he'd been far too good for any of them. He deserved something special. Something truly extrodinary. Something wickedly delicious.

He deserved this dark creature in front of him. Now all that was left to do was to commence the chase, and start the intricate dance of courtship. It was obvious they both expressed a deep interest in one another, or the other Helix wouldn't let him do this. Most males didn't let you get this close to them, unless they either liked any male attention and were manwhores, or they were actually interested in you. Taranis figured it was the latter, since his Beautiful Darkness had that aura of 'don't ******** with me or I'll tear you to ribbons' about him. Which made Taranis only shiver with more delight.

And ah....those hypnotizing blood red eyes, like rubies glistening in the dark. They almost seemed to penetrate the soul.....almost. Taranis kept enough of his wits that he still knew how to flirt and how to get information out of someone though. He only looked away from those entrancing eyes long enough to crawl under his Darkness's belly and arch up on the other side, brushing his muzzle against his Darkness's neck. "You're different. That's all I need to know. Exotic. Beautiful...special. Special enough to be worth my time. But what you are is of no matter to me, who are you, my lovely Darkness? I would very much like to hear your name......mine is Taranis. It means Sunlight, in some old language. I'm not sure which, Father never told me." he purred happily, weaving from under the Helix's belly to under his chin, since his Darkness was a little taller than him. As his hindquarters finished brushing the other Helix's chest and neck, he moved his tail to give one last caress before laying down on his side in the clearing. Out in the moonlight near the pool, looking over his shoulder occasionally to see if his new plaything would come out to meet him and let him see him in all his glory.

"Would you deny me the sight of you, my Darkness?"

Armand’s eyes trailed along the other Helix’s body as he glided away, his teeth revealed in a half eager, have disbelieving smile. This little male was quite the charmer, that was for sure. But, damn! He was arrogant, and ignorant. Could he even comprehend the danger that he might be in, if Armand lost interest in him for even a moment? Sure, killing was a sin. But Armand had the ability to look past the differences of prey and equal. If he was hungry enough, another Helix would be plenty satisfying for him. And he was not stupid and bland in his killing, as other Helix’s displayed in their simple ripping and gulping. He was skillful in the arts of torture, of horror and pain. He would simply not be content with dull, old feeding methods.

You do not understand,” he murmured under his breath, his bloody eyes narrowing, “that it is I who always gets what I want. I simply do not boast of it.”

Then he raised his head, lured by the incessant calling of the other, who waited impatiently by the bank of a small pool of glistening water. His skin still tingled from the caresses of the other… it reminded him of something long, long ago. A skillful, kind master, who was always able to please him no matter what his mood. He had loved, had had a heart in those days. But then he had been left, captured and forced to kill his own friend, forced to live with all the guilt and pain. It was those days that his soul burned into the blackened shell that no longer held sympathy for the world around him. Now all he felt was hunger, terrible, agonizing, burning, tantalizing hunger!

As if of another’s will, his paws began to move, to track forward ever so slowly and gracefully. His face was hard and grave, his eyes glinted in the moonlight, held the insubstantial hunger of his soul. He glided forward on feet of silver, his claws barely touching the ground before he took another step, his tail curling seductively behind him. His jet fur was blackened even further by the pale light of the moon and stars, making him a living shadow, and yet it highlighted the planes and valleys of hard, lean muscle, made his glossy coat all the more glorious. He stopped not a foot away from Taranis, gazing down silently, until his face finally softened in a look of sympathy.

My name is Armand, little Sun. May I be the demon in your night, until the light rises to drive me back to Hell.” He paced around the other Helix, taking a quick glimpse of his own features in the small pool. Yes, there was the monster, the demon. Always alluring, always dangerous, just as his Master had taught him.

You have no idea of what you express, of what you inspire in me. I have set the trap; and you have walked right into it. Now is the time to think with that insolent brain of yours, and ask yourself, ‘What have I done? Can I really handle this?’ Because, little Sun, you do not get what you want from me. I take, I steal, I give no mercy, no remorse. You receive what I have thoughtfully granted you when I am sated.” He slowly sank to the ground behind the other, close enough to breath into his ear. “I am truly the Darkness, Taranis. Are you afraid of the dark?” A deep growl erupted in his chest, though it was more from the pleasure of the situation than hostility.

Taranis wondered at Armand's question. Was he afraid of the dark? No. Not really. Was he afraid of Armand then? Again, not really. His heart wasn't in it, so he had no need to fear. Then again, it would be a dangerous thing to one day care, wouldn't it? No. Even if he wanted Armand, he wouldn't let him into that special place in his heart. That warm place that hurt just thinking about it. The reason he'd left his former pack, and his family, to be alone. It was so much easier to keep from getting hurt if you were alone. No, what he was afraid of was death. Death, and those who caused it to the ones he loved, ripping them from him before it was time. Like him. His beloved Xavier. Goddess, it hurt even now to think his name. No. Armand would not reach that place, he decided.

Masking his hurt with playfulness, he rolled onto his back and looked at Armand, the grin on his face not quite reaching his eyes. "Why would I need fear the Darkness, Armand? When I am Sunlight, as you've said? One shouldn't be without the other though, don't you think?" he purred, swishing his tail a few times before getting up and going to the water''s edge. That deep, spiraling blue that turned black.....Xavier's eyes were bottomless like that. Like looking up at the spaces inbetween the stars and wondering where they stopped. But he couldn't think of that. Not if he was looking for a placeholder for his Xavier. Armand seemed to be well enough to suffice for that.

Yes. Put him in that category, put him at arm's reach but pretend just a little longer that you love him to keep him here. Oh, how wicked the sunlight could be......not all horrible creatures dwelled in the shadows of darkness, it seemed. Even if Armand WAS very alluring. Even if Armand made a tiny, subconcious spark in Taranis want to grow, to live again. Even if Armand and Taranis both didn't realize just how much Taranis needed him. Needed a pillar of strength to hold onto, just to keep himself afloat until he found his own ground again. Swiping at the water gently, he swore he almost heard Xavier's soft chuckle and he turned quickly to look at the forest, cocking his ears just in case. But alas, it had been his hopeful imagination, trying to douse the little spark that was for Armand. Trying to keep Xavier pure in Taranis's heart.

But perhaps, just perhaps, with time and effort and patience, Armand could make the spark grow. Taranis was so unaware, it showed his adolescent puppy side, it was endearing he didn't know himself truly yet. Looking to Armand and throwing away all thoughts of Xavier for now to spare himself pain, he trotted back to the dark helix's side and nuzzled his head against Armand's neck. "Are you sure it isn't YOU whom is afraid of the Sun, Armand?"

Armand was taken aback by the simple, innocent question, that yet held a strong sense of forbidding slyness that he could not fully understand. A sudden turn of emotion had sparked the air as flint sparks a fire; he couldn’t help but feel a skip in his heart beat, once so strong, but now… so sorrowful.

Wait… who really was this young male? Already, Armand had put so much trust into him, lured to his body with his toxic beauty. He had heard tales of seducers, magic-users, who lured their prey using the most secret longings of the heart. But this Helix did not possess that dangerous magic, nor the evil intent. But he had been lured, had had no thought of what the outcome would be, of who this Helix might really be. Sure, Taranis seemed just as caught as Armand was. However, Armand could sense changes very easily; he knew that something was wrong, though couldn’t quite place it in his mind.

That was his weakness, he supposed. When he lost his footing and the firm ground shifted to the other player. He had always been a needy child, full of love and trust. But it had been overlooked, thrown away, by those whom he had cared for. Sure, he was hardened, wiser, and had lost his capacity for passionate mercy. But there was still a little piece of the soft pup that he had once been, hidden deep in his soul and protected by incorporeal barriers. Sometimes, if another soul had just the right missile, the soft words that made those barriers melt, his resolve would be lost, and all he would possess would be the undying pain of loneliness.

He stood silently, his red eyes fixed on the beautiful Helix before him. The sensation of foreign fur still tingled on his neck, but it was dimmer, colder, now that he had regained his morality. His eyes narrowed, but not entirely scrutinized, as he softly, calmly asked, “Is there a reason I should be afraid, Taranis? What would you truly do if I gave you my heart? Warm it, thaw it? Or scorch it and singe it, and send it into an inescapable drought that I will never recover from?” His voice steadily grew as his deep voice drew on, but the last word faded, his confidence stolen, his reluctance to trust surfacing once again. Yes, he thought that he truly loved this Helix, even though it happened in the space of a moment. But what of Taranis? Did he voice a simple, playful question, or a warning? Was he like… Marius? Louis? Lestat? The present could seem certain, but the future was cloaked in mystery. Maybe Armand would rather not know the answer to the question.

Perhaps ignorance would be his bliss... but there was still that feeling, as warm as the golden rays of summertime's sun, that resided within him at the touch of Taranis, at the image of his beautiful fur.

"All is far in love and war..." he whispered to himself, solemnly gazing at the waning moon.

Taranis blinked at the questions that Armand was proposing. It almost sounded as if......no.....no one fell in love that quickly, and surely not Armand. From what Taranis could glean from his personality so far, he was very secretive and didn't seem the type that was the hopeless romantic that fell in love quite a lot. Not like Xavier. At least that was a differenc. Xavier had gone through a long string of Helix's before stopping at Taranis, and had been killed because he'd fallen in love with someone else at the same time as Taranis. That someone had killed him. The sun-colored helix was wary of Armand's sudden love and affetion if that's what it was he was showing. Instant love didn't appeal to him. He'd only fallen in love with Xavier through many years of growing up together, and catching his eye. He shook his head regardless.

"I can see no need for a fear of me, Armand.....though I cannot truly say what I would do if you willed your heart to me......the last heart I thought was mine was given freely to another, and then torn to shreds before my very eyes by that other.....the most I can say is that I will try to take care of it, though I will not give you mine in return yet.....not all of it," he answered, finding Armand increasingly perplexing. Why would the Helix care about such things? It was obvious that he too had been hurt before, possibly multiple times actually. Taranis didn't want to add to that hurt, but something in him stirred that hadn't stirred in a long time. The need to defend Armand. To make his life worth living if only to take care of another's heart and protect it with all his strength. In that moment, Armand's eyes were so full of pain and confusion, and even a small spark of hope that Taranis would be different from those that had hurt him before.

But would he really? As he'd said, he could not know. The future was not certain by any means, or he'd be with his pack still, curled up with Xavier right now instead of courting Armand half-heartedly. He supposed it was probably a good thing for him to want to be with another again though, after all this time alone and cold to the world and it's beauty. Perhaps he could take care of Armand, and Armand could take care of his heart and teach it how to feel for another again.....to be brave enough to realize he could lose that special person and still love someone else. To be brave enough to have a future. If nothing else, he supposed Armand could teach him that much. Walking to Armand, he nuzzled the other Helix, licking Armand's muzzle gently and whining softly. Begging.

'Take me. Keep me.....don't let me lose another one.'

"The future isn't written in stone, Armand....I can't say what I will and won't do for you. All I can do is hope you will take this small part of me that doesn't belong to someone else and take care of it, as I hope to take care of you," he murmured back, wondering if this was what proposing a mate was like. Were they mates? No. Not really. There were certain channels you had to go through for that. Were they lovers then? Again, not really. Armand had not touched him, nor shown that he was willing to claim Taranis as his, no more than Taranis had made clear that he would claim Armand as his own either. There just wasn't the kind of commitment that needed to be had there. What were they at this point then?

Passing souls perhaps. Two lonely souls that sought eachother out, seduced by the thought of leaning on the broken wing of another one just as damaged and lonely as they were. Yes. That's what they were. Taranis could live with that, and with that revelation that small spark his mind was trying to drown out for Armand kept burning softly. Not much yet, but a spark was all it took in the beggining. With the right coaxing and teasing, it would grow soon enough. If only Armand would take him. For he feared if Armand refused him now.....that spark would die forever and never come alive for another Helix living again. Condemned, he would be, if Armand told him no.

Armand took all of Taranis’ words into careful consideration, yet he was not entirely skeptical. Taranis seemed almost identical to him; in sense of emotions and past happenings, of course. But he seemed as if he too had had a past love and had given them his heart, only to have it broken and torn and thrown to the wind, never to return. His eyes, when allowed in those sparse, fleeting moments, showed the pain from deep within, pain that Armand knew all too clearly. Pain that ate the soul from inside out, turning it into a shattered shadow of darkness that clouded the mind and heart. Pain that left him breathless, winded, as if fresh from a cross-country trek. Pain that was cold, warm, all sensations; but it hurt all the same, this pain. And both of them shared it, but each had a different way of dealing with it.

But why did Armand have to live with this pain, every single day? Why couldn’t he, and Taranis, finally rid it from their forlorn hearts? The pain was never-ending, but Armand found himself tiring of it, being sickened by it. It was time for the pain to stop!

Taranis…” he breathed, in a soft, compassionate voice, rich as chocolate and smooth as velvet. This was a voice that he had thought forgotten back in his childhood, but here it was, and it was sincere. He stepped in front of the other Helix, his eyes soft in his tenderness, and he leaned forward to rub his muzzle against the other’s. Such acts of kindness and benevolence were unheard of from him; he almost felt strange displaying them now, but his heart said, ‘It is alright. It is alright…’ So he leaned in as gently as his prideful heart would let him, and whispered, “I am not going to leave you, so long as you follow me. So, I question your loyalty and commitment in this moment. Will you go with me?”

Then he turned, not even waiting for a response… or perhaps praying that if it was a “no,” he would not have to hear it at all. His silver, blood-clawed paws moved methodically across the grass, past the pool, into the night, as a phantom would disappear into the darkness. But he paused at the edge of the forest, looking back, a questioning look in his dark eyes. It was as if they spoke not to each other, but to the separate souls. Armand could feel the pull, the pain, of a love that would once again be lost; but he also felt a newfound emotion, or perhaps one that he had simply been without so long that he had forgotten it.

It was hope.

Come, Taranis. If you wish to.”

Taranis was silent for a while and lay there just watching Armand walk away. Asking him to follow. Was Taranis brave enough to follow him? He bit his bottom lip, shifting a little and staying quiet as Armand got further and further away. The Helix wasn't walking too fast, and Armand could catch up in a few bounds, but then again, why did he want to? Why did he have this insatiable urge to follow silently behind Armand? He had no idea, was the answer he came up with. The little spark grew a little more until it was a tiny flame in his head. Just a tiny one. But not just a spark that could dwindle in a moment. Now it would take a bigger mistake on Armand's part to put out the tiny flame, and less stroking to make the flame bigger.

Taranis leaped at the chance, almost literally, and bounded after Armand, his tail swishing with interest. What would the mysterious, brooding Helix have in store for the young beauty? If Taranis had known what Beauty and the Beast was, he'd have put him and Armand akin to that story. But he didn't know about human fairytales, so it didn't cross his mind. Catching up with Armand, he nuzzled the dark Helix's chest with his head, growling softly and bumping up against his side affectionately.

"Armand, wait! Are you sure you want me to follow you so badly? I.....it's been so long....I don't know how far I'll be able to open up to you, Armand..."he worried softly, weaving in and out of Armand's legs and being altogether affectionate. He didn't want this dark and mysterious Helix to just vanish, as if he was a dream fading into the night, dispelled by morning. It almost frightened him, actually, and he couldn't fathom why. He hadn't felt this way since his past lover. Could Armand possibly be charming him so quickly? But.....surely the Helix had a pack, perhaps even a mate? It would sting Taranis if he did. "I just....want to make sure you really WANT me, and won't just leave in the morning for some pretty little girl, never giving thought to me again," he said softly, finally vocalizing his worry.
