This is an outside area where Marines train. Most new recruits are taught here and learn the techniques of higher ranking marine members. This is also where Marines can test their weapons and spar if they'd like.

Taro walked down to the marine training grounds with a tired expression on his face as he took a seat next to a training post and took a breath. "It's a nice day to realx. Humm." He was about to take a nap when all the sudden Koby came up to him after finishing a lap and shook him a little. "Hey Recruit! Taking a nap on the training grounds can get you in trouble." Taro looked up at him and gave him a slightly out of it look. "Huh? What did you say." Like he didn't hear him.

Koby helped him up to his feet and nudged him a little bit to try and wake him up from his slight lazy daze. "You must be new here. What's your name?" Taro looked at him and answered back. "My name is..Taro D. Willts. And you are that one guy." Koby raised an eye brow. "That one guy? You know me?" Taro rubbed the back of his head while shaking it a little. "Ahh, nevermind. I forgot." Koby smiled a little and started to jog in place. "Well looks like I'm your tutor here Taro."

"Welcome to the navy Taro. We are deticated to upholding the justice of the world on our shoulders and preventing any and all crime from taking place." Taro yawed as Koby talked on and on about what being a part of the navy was about and held his hand up to Koby mid explination and looked at him. "Uh, Koby was it? Not to say that you don't know what being in the navy is about but my dad is in the navy and he raised me just so I could join the navy like I am now." He said in a mild tone.

"To be in the navy is not a job or a task. It is a way of life that requires all your divotion and soul. The strength of a navy man is not determined by his weapons or rank but by how much heart he puts into it." He said the entire phrase in a dull tone since he was tired of hearing the same thing every day from his father. Koby looked at him and smiled a little. "Haha. Well it looks like you got the will of a real naval officer Taro. You wana come train with me?" Taro shrugged not really caring what he did next at the time.

Seeking out Koby hadn't been hard for Riley, but then again -- it wasn't hard to find most people around here. In some cases, the cases that she liked; you could just ask for someone and they would point you in the correct direction. Upon finding him, Riley had questioned him about learning some of his specialized techniques, something she thought would be best for the moment at least. He'd agreed and then told her; "I will teach you Riley!" His voice was pure, excited and willed. "You will first learn Navy Will!" Again, his voice was pure enthusiasm, and Riley just watched him.

"Just one question?" Riley chirped, putting a hand on her hip and tapping her chin. "How does one learn something like Navy Will. Shouldn't it be instilled in all of those who put their heart and soul into the Marines?" She questioned the boy. Koby didn't seemed bothered by the question. "Well..." He began -- then he realized he didn't exactly know how to answer it. "You just will!" He told her seriously. Riley raised an eyebrow. "Should I prepare to put some effort into fighting, or...is there any another way t-" Riley was cut off by Koby. "You will see!" He told her seriously.

What Koby wasn't telling Riley, was that her questions; her inability to let this go, was actually her training. It was simply, in the Navy, you had to know when to fight, and keep going -- and how to do better. This was he was trying to instill her. Riley raised an eyebrow. "I would feel silly to have to fight someone, such as yourself to learn something that I think shouldn't need to be taught." Riley was the type to question everything, it made her smarter. She loved learning, it was crucial and she craved for it. "I didn't say you were going to have to!" Koby told her.

Koby took a breath and smiled at her, "You don't need to fight, you've already learned it." He told her seriously. "To learn something that is un-learnable; as you maybe have put -- you must just do." He shrugged proudly. "You've done so already!" He nodded his head. "And now, I can move on with teaching you something's that will surely help you rise you way to the top!" He puffed out a bit, and Riley thought for a moment that he looked like of like a blow fish, mid blow. It was disturbing and she shook the image from her head right away. "Well.." She murmured, "Alright."

"Next I will teach you, a basic punch." He told her with a nod. "That if when used appropriately; and to the fullest power could knock someone out!" He seemed very proud about this, because he stayed puffed out. Riley sighed inwardly, she had no use for fighting. She was a doctor, but she assumed that if it needed to be done, it needed to be done and she would have to deal. He snapped his fingers, "Riley!" He berated, "Pay attention." She stared at him, "You stopped speaking," She pointed out, and he shook his head. "Come on now!" He said and turned towards her completely. "Ready to see it?" Riley nodded.

"Good! This is a Discipline Punch." Turning slightly, he took a stance; when Riley noted gave him a complete opening to be hit before he could get off his own punch. Then again, in the situation they were in -- this was merely a stance for show, she could modify it, she imagined to better suit herself; her smaller form; and her longer arms. Riley watched, and listened as Koby punched the air; she noted the force behind it, the swing angle and the noise that he made when he showed her, that would definitely have to go. She didn't like making noises, they got you in trouble -- and they got you killed.

As she watched Koby prepare to show her a second time, she thought about the fact that she was in the Navy now, something her brother had dreamed of doing -- and she did it, and here she was; already learning a technique, already given more books than she could imagine on medical procedures, and she was downing on this boy because he was trying to teach her how to fight in the face of imminent danger. She shook her head, she would have to be nicer, he didn't have to show her -- but she needed it. She knew that much, sure; she could fight a little, but a little more couldn't hurt.

"You ready to try it?" Koby questioned her. She looked towards him, "I think I've got it." She replied and nodded. He puffed out more, "Okay -- try and hit me!" He told her, "And don't worry; If you nudge me a bit, I'm strong." Koby seemed proud of this. Riley turned towards the boy, and looked over his form, he had hit with his right hand, so he would block with it. He also aimed for the face, but if I tilt and aim for the chin. Her thoughts wandered and then she took the same stance he had, adjusting it the slightest bit to be more comfortable for her form. Then she began.

Shooting her arm out, left handed -- because she was; and she had been right, he tried to block with his right hand; but her added curve cleared it, hitting him square in the jaw, there wasn't much for behind it, but enough for him to let out something of a pained groan. She sat back and looked over him; worriedly. "Are you alright?" She questioned, grabbing his face a little bit more gently than the punch and checking his jaw. He groaned and nodded, pulling away and laughing. "Of course!" He was nodding. "You're good at this Riley." He told her and then waved his hand.

"The last thing, I can teach you is simply; moving faster." He shrugged like it was simple. She stared. "You mean, you're going to try and teach me a speed enhancement?" Riley questioned, seeming in disbelief about the situation -- this boy didn't seem that fast at all, but she supposed that if he could teach her, it was best to learn. He nodded and produced two buckets of water, and two mops. "This one you learn by doing." He told her honestly. "We'll make it a race." He said, "You finish before I do -- and you'll have learned my move." It was simple enough -- at least to him.
