IT was a wonderfully bright and shadey day, the wind was blowing lazilly creating a rather pleasent breeze that seemed to dance with the flowers. The clouds floated by as if they out for a sunday stroll, changing shapes here and there. Everyone should be out and about and enjoying a day like this... everyone that is except for a blue herla, laying in a clearing, trying not to think about what a day like this used to mean to her.
Lumi sat beneath the shade of a rather big tree, chewing on small flower, and attempting to think about anything and everything, but always coming back to one thing... her past. She sighed and stood up, shaking off the leaves from her body and looking around for Heret. They'd been an 'item' for a month now and she was enjoying their time together more and more. She found she really liked not being alone... Although she was also happy to not have to have Heret's brother (Balin) around either. She grimaced slightly at the thought of how they'd met, she was certain that was going to come back and bite her in the a** more than once.
She shook her head trying to think of something happier, but not really succeeding, she just needed to talk to Heret.

Heret yawned as he sat among the flowers that surrounded the path to his home. He didn't know what exactly they looked like, so he imagined them to be vibrant flashes of colors. It soothed his mind when he got upset at his dark world to picture it to look like he wanted it to. The breeze felt nice against his fur as it ruffled the flowers around him. The herla wasn't exactly sure where Lumi was, but he knew that eventually, she'd find him. She was sweet like that, all checking on him to make sure he hadn't broken his neck by tripping over something. It was only a matter of time before he'd hear her coming and then hear her sweet voice...

Lumi didn't have to be quiet when she walked around in search for Heret, mainly becuase she didn't have to worry about attempting to be stealthy. She swung her head from side to side, looking for Heret. She wondered slightly where he might have gotten off to, she didn't think he'd gone to the river, he hadn't gone in that direction when he'd gotten up to leave earlier. She stood still and thought for a moment, her ears twitching slightly in thought until she remembered he'd gone off in the direction fo the flowers. She slowly switched directions and made her way there, calling out to him once or twice.

Heret's ears pricked as he heard a familiar voice calling his name. "Over here, Lumi!" He yelled back as he carefully stood up. He could hear her now, her careful steps causing soft crunches against the ground. It was a beautiful sound.

Lumi turned her ear, and then her head in the direction of Heret's voice, she smiled excitedly when she finally saw him among the flowers. She giggled girlishly as she made her way over to him. When she finally reached him she nuzzled him lovingly and laughed lightly, "I was wondering where you'd gotten off to! I'm going to have to tie a bell around your neck or something." she chided teasingly.

"Where I'd gotten off to? Why Lumi dearest, I believe you're the one who wandered off." He teased as he returned the loving nuzzle. "Now, where did you go? See anything exciting?"

Lumi snorted and nipped at Heret's ear playfully. She smiled and thought up something outrageous to tell him...
"why yes actually, I saw a dragon, drifting lazilly in the sky, I almost didn't catch him because he was sleeping in the clouds, but then he stretched out his wings, and they glittered. They were a shimmery green, almost like the plants that grow along river banks. It was a rather interesting sight."
She laughed and couldn't help but tease him slightly "and then i thought of the reaction you'd once given to snakes and i decided to come looking for you."

Heret chuckled and nuzzled the side of Lumi's neck. "A dragon, hmm? Well, I wish I could have seen such a sight." He replied with a smile before shuddering ever so slightly at the word snake. "That was probably a good idea."

Lumi suddenly became quiet as she listened to Heret. For what felt like the hundreth time, she found herself staring at Heret's face, or rather, staring at the cloth that covered what was probably the most heartwrenching thing about Heret, his eyes. Her lips pulled downward in a frown as she wondered what it must have felt like, to become blind, and what is must feel like to live in a world of darkness. Lumi sighed and smiled weakly as Heret nuzzled into her. She nuzzled back slowly, thinking about her past, and thinking about Heret's past, always made her sad.
"You do know that i love you dont you?"

"Of course I know." Heret stated firmly as he snuggled against Lumi's side, "Just as I know that I love you." He frowned slightly, knowing that Lumi was sad even if he couldn't see her sad smile. "Darling, what's the matter?"

Lumi looked away from Heret for a minute, her heart soared everytime she heard him say that he loved her. Hell it made her go all gooey inside everytime she heard it. She turned her face back to Heret. How could she tell him what was really making her so upset? How could she ever even dream of telling him that she was sad becuase whenever she looked at him, she thought about how much she missed her family, and that Heret should be with his own... And that she'd recently been having thoughts about meeting his mother? Lumi sighed again and shook her head. "Nothing, it's nothing... Don't worry about it, I'm fine ok?"

He frowned, sighing. "Lumi, you know that you can tell me, right? I won't get upset or anything..." He nuzzled her. "I don't want something to be bothering, and even if I can't see that you're upset, I know you are." Heret stated softly, worried about his mate.

Lumi remained quiet once more as allowed herself to be nuzzled and comforted, suddenly she really didn't want to speak, she strained herself, in an attempt to not speak, eventually though... she'd have to say something. But how could she tell Heret that she wanted to meet his mother? She knew that it would only hurt him. But it hurt her too... She remembered the rumors about Heret's mother, she was supposed to be so extremely beautiful that the Duke would never let her out into public. meaning, if she ever wanted to see her, she'd probably have to see Heret's father too, and she knew that was impossible. She looked away from Heret, trying desperately to think of something to change the subject.. she had to make it sound good... um... uh....
"H-heret.. I don't know if i should say it or not... but... It's um.. It's just that well... um... I WANT BABIES!"
Lumi's eyes widened and her mouth dropped, of course she couldn't think of something better to lie with.

That...... was not what Heret had been expecting. For a long moment, he stood there, his jaw dropped slightly, completely still and silent. Fawns? Well.... He did want to be a father someday but so soon? And with the risk of his father coming looking for him? What if his father hurt them?! No. No, he wouldn't, couldn't, put his own children at risk. "Lumi..... I.... I want fawns too, but..... But not yet. Not now."

Lumi felt like giving a sigh of relief, she'd almost felt certain that that lie was going to backfire on her. She tried not to laugh out right on the expression that was currently on Heret's face. Instead, she decided to help drop the subject by licking at Heret's cheek and saying in a light hearted tone, "ok, when you think we're ready."
awkward conversation avoided, Lumi couldn't help but think about Heret's response, and the fact that he'd admitted to wanting fawns as well. She listened with little interest to her Guardian who was currently telling her that was a very mean thing she'd just done and the Heret was very good person for dealing with that the way he had, and that it was very rude of her to keep secrets from him. That one, she agreed with. He'd told her about his father, she'd met his brother... But what had she really told him about her family? Smiling softly Lumi nudged at the side of Heret's face, close to where his eyes were. "What have i told you about my family Heret?"
