I have heard many a rumor on the Internet of what happened to Invader Zim. I am here to post what really happenend. Nickolodeon cancelled the show, but Jhonen said that he would not supervise the show, even if another network bought it. I am posting this just to clear up any confusion of how "Invader Zim" was cancelled.

Hey, could you explain a little more? I dont really understand, and Ive been looking around to see why it had been canceled... (Im pretty sure I spelled that wrong... oh well...) anyway, so yeah, could you tell more about it? And where did you find this information?

I researched into this when it was cancelled. I even wrote an article about it in my school newspaper. I'll post more after I research more.

jhonen canceled the show. I quote himself saying "It's a good thing I canceled the show, huh?" from some commentary. The work was too stressful for them and Jhonen likes making people cry. All good things must come to an end. crying

Wow I haven't been here in a while...

From what I found it also just wasn't doing as well on Nick as they thought, it was a vain attempt to try to grasp at an older age audience to deter from the NickJr kids, but Invader Zim just was BEYOND Nick I do believe...and I've also heard it was a VERY demanding show to create, mostly b/c Nick became real asses as to what Jhonen could and couldn't do with it.

I heard that it got to be to morbid for nickelodeon and it was to innaproppiate......... stare thats crap they should have put it on w/ the other stupid shows at night like drake and josh. If you think about it the show would actually do very good now I dont know about then, but look at this guild and how many people are in it and this is only a small portion of a lot bigger group!

Jhonen does indeed like to make people sad. Plus if it stayed Nick would have warped it to suit them and then it would be ruined. Better it goes uncorrupted.

good ponit, and for nick to try and bend invader zim to their liking would be horribly wrong beyond all reasoning

Yes, apparently, anything having to do with dookie, or any form of excrement is A-OK by Nick's standards, but a little violence and gore isn't. I always wonder if Nick had ever read any of Jhonen's other works (ie: JTHM) before they agreed to put on Zim.

ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I can't believe that Nick knew what they were getting into with Jhonen, and yet seemed surprised when IZ turned out to be darker, more violent, and more morbid (and, coincidentally, better) than anything else on Nick. I hadn't known that Nick had read JTHM first.
Heh heh heh. Yes, let's have the author/artist of one of the most violent and profane comic books of all time, and take him, and have him do a nonviolent, dookie-filled, childrens show for our network. Makes so much sense.
Of course, I love JTHM and IZ, and am glad thet it aired, but am pissed that Nick acted the way that they did. If IZ was too drk for their regular audience, then they should have emulated Cartoon Network, and reserved later on in the night for the more adult things, instead of airing TVland, which noone watches. I know that Jhonen really cancelled, but maybe if Nick hadn't expected a 180 degreee turnaround in his work, then perhaps it would have run longer.
