Well, I think I mentioned it before, but maybe not. I'm sure we did though as I remember discussing some of it with Uma in another thread, heheh.
Willowbark and I are renovating our first home. Things are going alright, all things considered. It's sucking up a lot of time and a lot of effort, but things are starting to look very nice (mind you I'm optimistic about this so far, as about half of the rooms are torn apart to repair/modify a lot of things)
It's the reason we haven't been on much since about February. I try to make it in here and look around but some days it's 1am when we get home. Whee!
But yeah, we're hoping to be moved in by our first wedding anniversary on May 23!
on a random note, it's Easter. I painted eggs yesterday, ate a bunch of chocolate, helped my kids with an easter egg hunt and overall feel kinda kiddish right now. Hell I even spent an hour playing star wars arcade games while the kids napped. So today my avatar is a pretty good reflection of my overall mood about a lot of things, despite the typical depression/anxiety I always feel due to medical conditions blah blah.
It's been a good week overall.

Oooh, sounds exciting. I'm glad to hear that you've been doing well. My Easter was filled with funness too, though it's still weird that my mom makes me look for my Easter basket. *waves* And happy early anniversary!

I am very glad that your renovations are going well. That is an undertaking fraught with peril and anxiety! So bravo that it is working out.
I did not do much on easter, I sat around and played on the computer and did some laundry, lol.

A decent portion of stuff is now moved, including my PC crying
So my net connection is very erratic as I rely on time on my sister-in-law's.
Hope to be back up consistently in a little over a month!

We still have a lot of small jobs around here to get done. It'll take time but we'll have that time at least as we don't plan to move any time soon, heheh.
But yeah I'm still excited about being in my house!

I hate moving, but I love being in a new place, It's exciting getting to know it.

We've mostly settled in by now. The kids really like the new house, which is good.
Both of us are really liking it too. Yay!

I am so glad your new house is working out for you.
We are getting the deck done. It's coming along beautifully.
Do you have a yard?

Well, kind of. It needs a lot of work as, while moving in, we inadvertantly tore up most of the lawn. We also have a large trailer piled up with what used to be our back porch. We tore that down as it was in bad shape.
The roof over our kitchen has been repaired and reshingled so there is no longer a small leak there, which rocks hardcore.
Anyways, the backyard is in decent shape. We have a swing set out back and it has a lot of trees enclosing the space. I keep my dog, Zephrym, in the back. He's a Chocolate Labrador/Border Collie cross. My large scale chicken barn (built roughly in 1914) is back there too.
just need to level it out and replant the grass and it'll be good to go.

Oh that is very nice. Well, I was surprised upon receipt of the bill for taxes on my house in the mail this week. I thought I paid them for a year when I bought the house, but apparently they are due. Scary.

That is a very scary thought. I know ours is pretty low since we live in a small town in the middle of the prairies, but city ones can be stupidly high.
Hopefully the taxes won't cause too much stress for you. But then again it's taxes so don't they always stress people?

I have since found out that our property taxes are built into the mortgage which caused me considerable relief you can imagine!
Still struggling with the HOA to get approval for the deck stain and for the new sliding glass windows of which they seem to only want us to select from a couple brands that have the right color frame.

That's good that your property taxes are paid along with your mortgage. Ours are separate, but it's not too high at about 700/year.
And you have to get approval for the deckstain and sliding windows you want to use? Why is that, if you're paying a mortgage to own the house? I have never heard of the HOA, maybe that's something American.
