 While her family slept, Imani stalked through the grasses, a grin on her face. This was no time for sleep! She had to locate the evil Warlord before the King surrendered! The King was relying on her skills as a warrior to save him from subjecting his subjects to the Warlord's rule. Of course...Imani didn't mind at all. The King was no fighter, and Imani was. Simple as that.
It was also all in her head. Her latest bout of make-believe. Spotting a rather large bush, she bristled. "So, Warlord...we meet at last! And I shall defeat you, and save my home from your evil ways!" With a child's roar, she leapt forward...and got caught in the bush, flailing about. "Unhand me, foul villain!"

Adetokunbo relaxed nearby, her eyes on the verge of closing for sleep, growing heavier by the second. That was, until she heard a commotion from nearby. She jumped up, looking slightly afraid. She stood, shaking out her bristling fur, and inhaled deeply.
She began padding forwards, towards the commotion, which was not something she usually did. Her instincts were telling her to find the cause but her body and mind screamed in unison to turn tail and run from it. She shoved her fears aside as best she could and continued on.
As she walked the sound grew louder and she could make out words. Warlord, villain, evil... they caused her worry to increase, fearing she was walking into a pride dispute. Until that is. She found the bush.
It was shaking wildly and yelling, a rather odd thing for a bush to do, in her opinion. But then she saw the cause, a young lion was seemingly wrestling with the bush. And apparently the bush was an evil warlord.
She tentatively poked at the bush, "H-hello?"

Imani's fantasy quickly popped, leaving her hanging in the bush, staring at the lioness wide-eyed. "Uh...hi!" She grinned sheepishly. "I look pretty weird, don't I?" Laughing, no longer embarrassed, she wriggled until she'd gotten free of the bush.
The red and violet juvenile shook the leaves and branch-bits from her fur, then trotted over to sit in front of the older lioness. "I'm Imani!"

"So, the bush isn't trying to take over the land?" Adet smiled at the cub's playfulness, she could almost remember a time when she were as sweet and carefree... almost.
She looked down at the brightly colored cub and nodded, "Well, Imani, I'm Adetokunbo."

Imani grinned and shook her head. "Nope! I was just playin' 'Pretend'! I like playing 'Pretend', and being a great hero!" She puffed up proudly. "And one day...maybe I'll get to actually be a hero!"
When the other lioness gave her name, Imani remembered her manners. She bowed her head slightly in acknowledgement. "It's very nice to meet you, Miss Adetokunbo!"
