First off, should we make a topic in the forums or would anybody go?
Secondly... well... what are your thoughts on the event?
I've only played in the Hell and Hillbilly room, but my reaction is mixed. The items are pretty awesome, but the rooms could use some work. They're really small. So while I can find a corner with nobody in it in most... I'm gonna be ******** when I go to Aquarium with all the n00bs who don't know how to switch rooms.
On the one hand, I'm a bit disappointed the requirements for the items are so low compared to the last prom, but on the other... Only four songs in, the lag pretty much killed me. I should be able to get 80% no problem and I wound up with only 23%. Shaaaaaaaaaame. gonk Guess I'll just have to keep reloading after every theme.
It seems kinda silly to me that the event is so long. I can probably get all the items in an hour or two.

got the items i wanted, ******** everything else. i hate that they reused the same broken minigame again. it is still unintuitive, doesnt follow any form of beat and the controls are s**t.
also the music sucks, the instrumental theme in hillbilly is enjoyable, everything else is bland and boring.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. The music is awful. I expected it to fit the themes for the rooms, but other than the hillbilly room and the rainbow song in the Skittles room, it really doesn't. Dance music in hell? I was hoping for some hardcore doomy metal instrumental (don't want to hear the screaming and Gaia wouldn't be nice enough to get us a real singer). And a song about swinging? In HEAVEN? WTF? Didn't they learn anything from how upset people were about all the sexual allusions last year?
I'm no prude, but it's just really in bad taste to have these happy bubblegum pop songs about getting it on on a website like this. The only people that genre of music appeals to should not be having sex in the first place, so... yeah. Really really bad taste.
Dammit, Aivi. If they have a prom event next year, send them some of your stuff. That would be hella enjoyable. I mean... they're obviously getting this stuff from undiscovered "artists" on Myspace. And there is a REASON for them being undiscovered. It would be better if they'd just had us dance to zOMG music.

zomg music would so own.
I'll be playing the prom now and giving my critique. I don't mind a thread in the prom forum. Why not? surprised But I may not be so active within the next week (but what else is new?) haha

After last year's little incident about the first Gaia Prom and its song that mentioned cunnilingus, I am unsure whether I even want to try the dance game this year.

everyone's bitching about how hard or non-functional the game is, and i'm historically terrible at that sort of game anyway, so i'm giving this event a miss.

It's really not that hard. The Chicken Yodel, which is supposedly the hardest song? Empty room, low quality, sound off - I got 95%. Of course, I'm also the chick who gets invited over to a friends to play games of their choice she has never touched before, and winds up kicking their a** before the night is over.

I'm so mad I missed that now. I didn't even want to bother with the songs, so I just turned the sound off and played my own DDR music. scream Plus it's not like having the songs on would have helped anyway, the arrows are all randomly generated, which really throws me off especially when a whole ******** of arrows decides to show up.
