I've been very suicidal lately. I told my doctor, and he added Lithium to my Clonazapam, Cipralex, Concerta and Risperdal. I asked him to refer me to the Royal Ottawa (our city's hospital for the mentally ill), but he told me they wouldn't have time to see me until January.
I even told my mum how I really wanted to kill myself, and to bring me to the emergency room because all I wanted to do was eat pills and drink myself to death, but she keeps making excuses not to take me.
Please help, what should I do?

Can you call an emergency number? Even calling the police might set the wheels in motion. Good luck!

I've been too afraid to call 911 or anything, I guess I should though, I get so suicidal at night that I'm really afraid I'd do something to hurt myself sad

If you really have this strng urge you must insist on recieveing help, so d follow the suggestiona and call the emergency yourself. : emotion_hug : I hope you get the help you need!

*hugs* I don't have other suggestions, what the previous posters said is definitely correct, if you're not feeling safe and your mother and doctor won't help you, call the police. I assure you they will take what you say seriously and start the wheels turning for you to get care.
We're here for you, hon, and things can and will get better.

I just tried calling 911 crying
My parents took the phone away from me and won't let me near it crying
I don't know what to do crying

jesus christ whats the ******** deal with your parents??? I wish i had helpful suggestions but atthis piont my mind turns to hostage situations and that really not a good thing. The best i can suggest is trying to get out of th house and reach a phone?

Do that (try to get out of the house) or see if you can get someone outside your house to call the police for you.

im not sure if i understand this you have let your parents know your suicidel and they still won't let you seek help?? dam you know you should try to get there attention and try to tell someone else that is close to you about it and they could probably call for you... but no offense or anything this sounds to me like you just want attention but like i said if this is really going on call 911 any chance you get... if you go to school talk to a school counsiler... if not you could probably seek a psychiatrist... ask your doctor about refering you to one instead of the hospitol a psychiatrist will probably see you sooner... than the hospital will admit you ... good luck

My friend's on lithium. If you OD, you can get lithium toxicity, which is sometimes deadly. In its mildest form, there's an itchy red rash that looks like acne but... well... itches x3. Along with the rash, my friend got the sickness bit, too... she couldn't hold down even a spoonful of water. That lasted for two weeks. The only reason she's still on it is the abusive bastards she has for adoptive parents won't let her off of it. I mean, no dip she's depressed, her dad tried to ******** strangle her.
BUT HEY, I'M GETTING A LITTLE OFF TOPIC HERE. I'll go be an emotard on another board.
Anyways, lithium works pretty well, but make sure that the dose starts low, and please be very careful about agreeing to up it by anything more than 15 or 30 mgs at a time. Even on lithium, if you still feel suicidal, just remember.
There is no problem on this planet that is so bad that you would rather die. If you don't want to be a burden, think of all of the pain it would cause to the people who love you. You might have problems, but please, think. Don't do it.
