Seclusion It has been many years and the Institute continues to perform experiments on the Altered people. There didn't seem to be a place where the Altered could hide and fighting back seemed impossible. The Institute possessed technology beyond Altered intelligence. Hope seemed lost. The future of the Altered looked grim. But rumors and tales have been shared amongst the rebellious and escaped Altered. A new haven has been created where Altered are free to inhabit without having to live in fear. They have their own technology and their own warriors to fight and most importantly, they have given the Altered everywhere hope. According to a message sent, behind the back of the Institute, across an underground radio signal to rebels, an underground structure is being designed and will be large enough to hold as many escaped Altered that can make it without being caught by the Institute. The organization requests that anyone that can come and help build and help out. Once the structure was complete there would be Foragers sent out to search for other Altered that didn't have access to radios to hear the message that their freedom wasn't just a dream any longer. That their hope was no longer dead. That Retribution was alive. It has been a few months after Retribution was opened. Altered continue to travel from all around, their destinations the same. They must not be caught by the Institute for the location of the base is still unknown to them, although the Institute is aware of the rebels and their plans of creating a base. Retribution is open, The Institute is getting nervous, and the Altered finally have a chance at the fight for their lives.

Bailey had decided to head out with a few of the Foragers to search for any Altered who couldn't find their way to the Altered's haven. Retribution, her father's dream was finally open and ready to take in any Altered who needed shelter and place where they could be safe. She smiled at the thought of helping as many Altered as she could.
The land had become dry and the world was almost a wasteland in these parts. Of course, Retribution lived underneath a city that was almost still in tact. A few humans willingly to help out lived above and gladly shared any supplies they could get their hands on. In return, the Altered gave some of their own supplies they came upon.
She stepped over some debris and almost tripped. A Forager caught her arm but said nothing. She regained her balance and continued on, her eyes searching the land for any sight of an Altered who still lived in these parts. One of the Foragers called out and Bailey continued on. So far, they hadn't been able to find any Altered, but she hoped at least one would turn up.

Hours passed with no avail. There were not any signs of life in these parts, only death and then feeling that something wasn't right kept eating away at Bailey. Their group had stopped for a break and as Bailey sipped some of the water she had packed to bring with, she watched the sun begin to set. The same Forager that had prevented her from falling earlier placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Maybe you should head back. We can continue the search." He was about her father's age, probably one of his close friends at that. And her father had probably threatened this man's life had Bailey ended up getting hurt on this mission, friend or no friend of his.
She started to protest, not feeling the slightest bit tired and didn't feel like giving up just yet. But arguing was not an option and so she nodded grimly and then stood and headed off into the opposite direction. The night was coming faster every second and the air was started to cool. She had reached the half way point when she spotted a small light coming from inside a broken down building. She started to head over to see what it was.

Bailey entered the crumbled, half standing building and looked around. The light was gone now, and she started to wonder if she had imagined it. The darkness was eerie and she shivered. Realization that she was alone came over her and she bit her lip and headed towards the exit. Instead of reaching it, she ran right into something tall. She backed up and rubbed her forehead. Thinking it was a wall, she went to walk around it when an arm grabbed hers.
"Hello there, sweet heart. Lost?"
The voice chilled her to the bone. She could hear her own heart beat and her instincts told her to run. She tried to, but his grip was strong. Suddenly, the light she had seen earlier flickered back on from a nearby candle. Many candles actually. She had stumbled upon someone's hide out.
And not just anyone. The man that held her was grinning wickedly. Tables were set up with different technology and devices she had never seen before. She counted five other men in her line of sight standing in the room. It didn't take a genius to know that these were Institute men. People sent out to find Altered and kill them on sight. She had walked right into a trap.

Ava had decided to check out the area to see if any people from the institute had found her again. So she grabbed her staff and took off. While walking, she decided that the abandoned building near her hiding place was probably a good place to hide. Either there was another altered or another one from the institution. She still had bruises from the last one. Ava moved around the building quietly, searching for a good place to go in unnoticed. Then she heard something. Ava pressed her ear to the wall. She heard a muffled voice. "Sounds like a man's" she thought. She decided to get closer.

Bailey narrowed her eyes at the Institute man. "Let me go." She knew he most likely wouldn't agree to her demands, but it was the best she could do. If they didn't let her go, she'd have to fight them. All of them. And they didn't know she was an Altered, so she still had a chance of escape. But if they tried anything stupid, she was going to have to give herself away.
He laughed aloud and dragged her over to a chair. "Come on sweetie, we're friends, right?"Another man was holding a rope and some tape. Bailey's eyes grew even larger and she swallowed hard. She was cornered in this building and there was no one around to help her, so she thought. She was going to have to use her telekinesis.
Before they could push her onto the chair, it flew across the room into another man. Bailey had lifted it using her powers and hadn't even been slightly strained. The next thing she did was lift the man holding the rope and tape up in the air. He went flying across the room and a wall. Then she turned to the first Institute man. "Let me go." She repeated, her eyes narrowed. He looked slightly shocked, but he still held his composure. "It's one of them!"
Bailey felt she had no other choice. She lifted her arm so that his was next to her mouth and she sunk her teeth into the flesh. He screamed out in pain and Bailey went running towards the exit. Two more men stepped in her way and blocked it. She halted and went to turn but two other guards had appeared there too. She was trapped, again.

Another day and not an inch closer to this new so-called ‘haven’ for Altered, like himself. Sammuel sighed, pushing his face against the bars of the tiny cage, and stared out at the room he was in. Seeing it all through the protectiveness of his blind-fold. He had waltzed right into the scientists’ trap as well-only earlier in the day. And this time they were ready for the cunning Alter. This cage was small and cramped, so they figured it would restrict him and prevent him from morphing to get out. Fools. Sam thought as he pulled his face away from the bars then.
He hadn’t even tried to get out as of yet. They weren’t close by to see him do it so where was the fun in that? The ‘Shadow’ liked to see the looks on their faces every time he foiled their attempts at holding him. It was highly amusing. And it almost made him wish he had a camera. As he was biding his time today though Sam heard a lot of commotion suddenly from another part of the building. Oh ho what’s this? Instantly his interest was piqued and he shifted around in the cage. It was too cramped, the noises were exciting him, and finally Sam couldn’t wait any longer. Groaning he doubled over as he forced himself to change right then and there.
His face elongated, wings slowly sprouting out of his back, and then the cage burst open when the transformation was nearly finished. It couldn’t hold him because he was too big for it. The scientists should have thought of that. But if they did well then he wouldn’t be stalking out of the room right now. Hissing out a breath the dragon-like monster that was Sam sniffed the air and caught the scent of another one of his kind. And then he heard a man’s scream. A twisted frightening grin showed large teeth, Hmm sounds like a party. He chuckled inwardly before dashing out of the room and skidded around the corner into the area where the girl was fighting the scientists.
Seeing her get blocked off by two of the males he shook his beastly head and leapt up as high as the ceiling would allow. Only to promptly come crashing down on top of the two. Two large clawed feet planted firmly into each back, his weight crushing them, and he got down to eye level with the female. “Hello, need a claw?” He growled out then swept his tail back and knocked away the next set of would be captors.

Bailey had frozen in her place. The sudden idea that she would either be killed or dragged off to the Institute to be a rat didn't sound inviting. She was just about to try and fight the two men in front of her when it looked like something fell from the celling and crushed them. Her eyes felt like they were going to pop out. A creature stood in front of her, and it resembled a dragon. Then it spoke. She whimpered and took a step back into something hard.
She had backed up into an Institute man who was holding a knife. He placed it by her neck and let out a loud laugh. He put his face into her hair and breathed her scent it. Bailey tried to struggle, but he held her fast and his grip was strong. He kept his eyes on the dragon. "Come on, buddy. Get out of here or I'll kill your little friend here."
Bailey considered telling the Institute man that she had no idea who this dragon guy was, but he seemed to be her only option of escape. She was getting irritated that three times she had managed to get herself into a predicament and couldn't seem to get herself out of them. She promised herself that if she got out of here alive, that she would work on not always being the damsel in distress. She watched the dragon, hoping he would do something and not kill her.

Sam’s golden eyes narrowed and he rose up to his full height, starring the scientist down. “Well now that’s just not fun at all.” He seemed to sigh and shrank back down into a semi normal looking human. Raking a hand through his black hair Sammuel turned his back to them both for a moment, pacing, and then suddenly spun on his heel to face them again. “Oh wait I know!” He stated with a grin and in a blink of an eye morphed back into a dragon-monster again. And inched his open maw close to the man’s face, roaring in it, while sneaking the end of his tail up and coiled it tightly around his wrist.
“Let the nice young lady go or you lose your hand, ok?” Sam growled, adding more pressure and he pulled it slightly away from her neck. He had the strength to take it completely away but that would mean breaking the man’s arm in the process. Sammuel at least wanted to give him a chance to do the smart thing or the girl would get away from him on her own.

The Institute man was shaking so bad that he dropped the knife, turned, and ran out of the building screaming for help. Bailey fell to the ground and gasped, trying to slow down her heartbeat. So the dragon creature was an Altered like her. That was good, and he had saved her life. She looked up at the creature and studied it. He was strange, she had never seen anything like him before. Most of the abilities she had come across were ones that didn't affect the person's physical appearance, except for shapeshifting but no shapeshifter that she had seen could do this.
She stood up and dusted herself off, dirty from the long day of searching and from her current battle, one she hadn't even been able to finish herself. She looked back over her shoulder to see if the Institute man was still there. He was long gone.
She turned back to the creature and was quiet a few moments. She had no idea what to say, so she racked her brain for a while until she remembered what people in her place would say to their rescuers. "Thank you." She said, not meeting his eyes. She was clearly scared of him and couldn't think of anything else but getting away.

Another smirk spread across Shadow’s face when the man ran off like a scared sissy. He loved doing that to people. A deep chuckle erupted in his throat before he shook out his scales, much like a dog would its fur, and he stretched his wings out. That had felt good; then he turned his attention back to the girl he had saved. Sam watched her with a bit of curiosity in his golden eyes, tilting his head a bit in observation, and then he folded his wings back down. She was pretty cute, even if she was a little dirty it seemed. Done with all his stretching and showing off though he changed back, slower this time, since it did drain a bit of energy every time he did it too quickly. He had to take things a little slower.
Once Sam was back in proportion he patted down his leather jacket and tightened his blindfold. When he was finished he blinked behind it at hearing the girl thank him. “Don’t mention it, love. But what’s a girl like you doing in a place like this?” He inquired as he draped an arm around her shoulders and attempted to escort her out of the building. No doubt the guys that were still there, and alive, would be waking up soon and probably would come after them. Or go to their higher ups to let them know that not only did the morpher escape but so did a telekinetic.
And frankly he didn’t feel like sticking around for that. “And sorry if I scared you, but these things can’t be helped when you are a 8ft tall monster that could rip you to shreds.” Sam babbled slightly with a laugh and just patted her shoulder in a reassuring way. He would never hurt other people for the fun of it, especially not a woman, Sam had morals. And was old-fashioned in that sense.

Bailey shivered at the sudden touch of his arm and slid away, not wanting to have any physical contact by a stranger. This guy was clearly strange, and although he had good manners and acted like a gentleman, she didn't know if she could quite trust him yet. He was wearing a blindfold, which just made the strange stranger. And he did have an ability that she had never heard of.
"I wasn't scared." She lied. She didn't want to come across as weak and pathetic to this guy. "And I was..." She trailed off, wondering if he knew about Retribution and the rebels. She decided to give this guy some slack and she answered truthfully. "I was searching for other Altered with the Foragers to bring back to Retribution. Have you heard of it?"

Ignoring her shying away from him Sam stuck his hands down into his pockets, still walking out of the building with her, and breathed deeply. It was good to be out of that tight cramped cage. He had been in there all day. Which was why in his creature form he had stretched out so much after scaring the knife-guy off. But he couldn’t help but smile upon hearing her deny that she wasn’t scared, Cute. He thought while shaking his head. “Sure, of course you weren’t.” He said sarcastically but in a good humorous way.
Sammuel stopped though in mid step when she mentioned Retribution. He glanced over his shoulder at her then tipped his head down and sighed almost tiredly. “Yeah, I have. Been trying to get there for awhile now. But the Institute won’t get off my back.” He muttered with a shake of his head. It got old every time they caught him, the only fun was getting away, but getting caught again well that was just annoying.

In the distance a young boy who appears to be fourteen draws cautiously to group. It is color of this eyes that appear to stand out. As the wind blows his fiery red hair sways side to side. Feeling a bit curious he walks closer and closer. When he's finally he seeing difference he looks over at the at the two at looks at them suspiciously as if examining them. He looks over to Bailey and whistles. "Why hello dere cherrie, your currently quiet fine today no?"As his mouth opens it appears he has a cajun and southern acent. Soon after he speaks a smirk come across his twisted his face.

Bailey stared at him blankly for a while. They hadn't been able to find an Altered in days and here was one standing right before her searching for the only home she knew. Now she just had to convince herself it would be the right thing to do to bring him with her, but she was hesitant about it. He was so mysterious and accompanying him all the way to Retribution would probably involve talking and explaining things about her home. She waited a while longer and then sighed.
"I live there and I can bring you there, if you like." It wasn't her job, but she knew her father would want her to lead this man to safety. She knew the paths that the Institute did not and she knew her way around the still-standing city like the back of her hand, so getting there wouldn't be a problem. Trusting him would be. She noted that she still did not know his name and wondered if they should keep it that way.
Then the sound of a whistle came to the left and she looked over to see a young boy. She looked him over quickly and noticed his eyes and his unique hair color. She narrowed her eyes at him at his comment. "Can we help you?" ((Edited!))
