Tiva closed her eyes and focused on the clear cool water that spread out before her. Slowly she raised her arms, smiling as she heard the accompanying splash of the water as it obeyed her commands.
Zula shook her head regarding her sister's practice. Meditation had never been her strong point. Too much sitting and not nearly enough action for her liking... She threw a few quick punches, pleased by the spurts of orange and red heat that flew from her hooves.
"I still don't get how you can do this at night..." Sunfire said watching his cousin. "You know...by nature our strength is increased with the sun..."
"Unless you happen to be Carpathian and the sun burns your body until there's nothing left..." Zula said dryly. "It's not my ally."
"Then how exactly do you hope to become a master?"
"My grandmother is like me an a firebender at the same time..."
"No...I've seen Aunt Ziyala," Sunfire shook his head. "She throws lighting..."
"Which is an extension of firebending," Sedena reminded her brother while she sat beside Tiva observing her work with the water.

Hayden laughed and threw some fire of his own back at Zula. "Hey there."
Dimitri followed, his red coat shining almost with its own glow. "To be in touch with nature is the nature of our cousins. Unlike us, they can draw on that power whenever they need to."

Zula grinned and shrugged, "It's a gift."
"It's weird..." Sunfire muttered.
"Not for us," Tiva pipped up. "It is completely natural."
"Just as it is natural for us to pull and push the waters..."
"Still talking about this firebending at night thing..." he shook his head.

"What are we getting into tonight? I hear there's a grumpy lake spirit that could use some livening up."
Dimitro rolled his eyes, "Looking for trouble isn't always a good idea..." He crossed his legs and began meditation. "Do we have any tea?"

"Yeah...no..." Sunfire said quickly. "I could go without getting drenched tonight. That's why I'm sitting so far away from Sedena and Tiva."
"Do you really think we'd intentionally hit you?"
"No, but he knows we will if he angers us..." Sedena shook her head.
"It's called being smart!" he called back. "From here I can make my comments and stay dry."
"It's cowardly..." Zula muttered rolling her eyes.

Hayden shook his head, "No idea of fun in this group..."
"Unable to take a bit of water, Sunfire? What do you do when it rains?"

"Spar? Or are you up for something else?" Hayden grinned, finally someone to do something with.
Dimitri grinned and dipped his hoof in the water, slinging the liquid at his brother. "Careful or I shall begin to think it will burn your skin."

"I'm up for whatever you think you can take on," Zula grinned.
"Gah!" Sunfire backed a little further away from the water. "Come on, Dimitri, that's not fair!"
"Boys...fight nice..."

"I can take a lot." Hayden flipped backwards and shot a blast of weak fire at her.
"How can you fear something that makes up most of your body?"

Zula smirked and let the fire wrap around her and her own heat shield, "So can I...ready?"
"Not afraid...I just don't want to get wet..."

"More than ever," Hayde grinned, setting his hooves aflame in anticipation.
"Some would argue that those are the same things." He shrugged, dipping his hooves into the water and meditating, the water suddenly heating to a boil around him.

"Then let's go," she grinned.
"Well I'm not..."
Tiva opened her eyes and glanced over at Dimitri, "Um...I was trying to bend that..."

Hayden fired the first shot and rolled away, laughing heartily at what he anticipated to be a blast.
"You can still bend that, can't you? I was just trying to supply you with an environment where you could test your skills."

Zula hurled a few firebursts to intercept it.
"But I'm still focusing on the basics," she said softly.
