I'm stressing. This is the first time I've logged on Gaia today, & I really should get off. I have a ton of homework due tomorrow, and this huge huge essay. And I only have one paragraph [mostly] done so far. I already know I'm going to be up for at least another six hours. DDD:
I know, how lame is it all my "angst" is school-related? Pretty lame. But shoooot, I'm so going to fail all my classes. And by fail, I mean asian fail, or that's what I've heard it called when failing = ≤B
D: *not racist, I swear*

Hun, calm down and take a deep breathe. You may want to just walk off the stress and not look at any of that essay or school related stuff until you calm down. If you aren't calm or stress free when doing the essay... then don't do it at all. Just know, yes it's an essay... and yes it's a big portion of your grade... but you don't have to turn your life upside down because of it. Have you may considered to make yourself an outline and work from there? Have to tried researching the topic? Reading information about it? You may want to organize your paragraphs in a specific order (if at all possible):
make your strongest two paragraph's your first and last and all the ones that are soso... put them into the middle... that way you start off and end off strong.
life's all about learning from your mistakes. I assume that you procrastinated this essay? So you can now learn that doing that will only make you freak out... so try managing your time wisely next time... don't look at the clock... just write and write... you will finish before you know it... i have faith in you heart

I agree with Z. You're roughly the same age as me, so chill out, have a cup of tea/coffee/other warm beverage and take an hour to give yourself some spoiling before you put yourself to work. After that, work your butt off. When you're done, give yourself five minutes of spoiling, just for a treat. Eat some chocolate. It helps. Then sleep. We need it at our age, with school and all.

Maybe even try chewing on some herbs that are soothing: like mint.
Or even chew gum or eat some sort of sugary candy
I agree with Kia on the tea and chocolate parts. 3nodding
I think we are the same age... are you in junior or sophomore year? sweatdrop

Thanks guys! x3 <3
I'm a junior. :3 And, well, it's not REALLY procrastinating, as our teacher gave us less than a week to do it. ;; But, my friends & I kept the email up so we kept each other awake. C: After my parents went to sleep, i did have another soda. >.> And when I finished... well, I had to HW & studying for at least the other class that I had a test in that day, that's like if you miss a point your grade falls 5% (Seriously. I'm not exaggerating on this class. There are like no points to earn) For that class I had to outline over 80 pages. I went to bed after I finished that, and did the rest of my other class's HW during the day. D: I got 4 hours of sleep, but since I don't normally have coffee, when I did it perked me back up. I'm sososo relieved. I had to do some final editing last minute, it freaked me out. But it's done now. Thank God. And he told our teacher told us yesterday we need to read Beowulf or something by next Wednesday. @.@
But I did take your guys' advice and took a minute break. I listened to some flyleaf. <3

I listened to some flyleaf. <3 we are in the same year O;... so i totally get the stress aspect of what you are going through... i won't lie that i have had a meltdown... because all ap junior year was a dumb a** decision. The point of my story is... i do meditation and exercised breathing and pressure points to avoid that from happening on a daily basis... have you tried that before?? At the end... she gave you A WEEK... you should have broken it down into parts and did one part per night... i get 10 page essays to do in two nights and sometimes in one night... so consider yourself lucky. WTF? What kind of class is that?? O.o''??! The lowest per marking period of points that is possible to earn in any of my classes is 750... all my others have over 1000 O.o'' You honestly need to pay attention to that class since the points is so low... you cant afford to slip in any class... especially this year! See? You shouldn't have to put yourself in a position in which you stress out and have to do homework in your classes neutral I am going to stress again, that you need to manage your time a lot better... WITHOUT TIME MANAGEMENT... JUNIOR YEAR WILL BE LIKE THIS EVERY DAY... MAKE WISE DECISIONS AND DON'T CONTINUALLY BURN YOURSELF IN THE SAME PLACE - TIME MANAGEMENT... TIME MANAGEMENT... TIME MANAGEMENT... 100 TIMES TIME MANAGEMENT!!!!!! Flyleaf is a good band to listen to when you are stressed... but listen to what i said about time management 3nodding hope it helps <3 --Zora

xD If you're in my year you really shouldn't be patronizing me. xD Yo, I don't what kind of school you go to. It sounds a LOT different. O.o Anyhow, I think I manage my time alright, though I admit I should probably have spent more time on this particular assignment. I don't know, I did all AP this year, too, and an extra class. I don't think all AP was a poor decision though. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and most of the time I wasn't working on my essay, I was editing other people's. I have my priorities, and right or wrong, they're what I work with.
As for 1 part a night. Ha, That's not how it works here. It's like, you gain momentum as you write. So if you write things during different times, it shows in disjointed writing. You have to put it all down and then revise revise revise. I was just having difficulty deciding on a thesis for most of the week. I mean, when the teacher's instructions are "Write an essay on one of these (over 70) poems," it's a bit vague.
And I'm a high school junior, by the way. That would be a big difference. xD

Same. High school junior. I need to do my Independant Study on Depression. I seriously would've preffered OCD over that, but meh. I have until the end of the semester.
That's an example of me being bad with time... Happens a lot, unfortunately. sweatdrop

O.o'' Yes, i am a junior in highschool razz I am not patronizing you... i am just telling you what i do to survive XD I am a perfectionist too... so i am in your boat. A ha... you should have said that before... about you editing and such. That's were we differ and everyone differs from everyone else in the world: priorities... whee I wont lie that school is my number 1 top priority (behind family that is)... i wont deny that i lost a good amount of friends because they didn't support my commitment to school and how seriously i take it. AP here are harder than most college courses offered in our state... sweatdrop ... i dont know how bad they are on your end though O.o'' Teacher's force us to hand in a log every night with our progress and a copy of the paper up to that point... its kind of pointless... but at least they know that they we do our work O: That is vague... i had to write a 10 page essay about my name... anything about it or how i got it... utterly pointless... everyone had a different take on it... What state are you in? I am in PA sweatdrop

I'm in CA. xD Our AP courses get students up to the level we need to be. They have like, 98% pass rates, with most kids getting 4 & 5s. O.o *pressure to succeed xD* Our almuni, too, say that college was easier than high school. xD *yay similarities with your school, if few*
Yeah, no. Teachers don't care how much progress we make a might, as long as we have a finished product in the end. My group of friends, and the school in general, is really cooperative & solidaritic (I know that's not a word, but that's how it would be constructed). We all want each other to do our best, so we're sort of like a family, I guess, in a way. ;;
Name essay sounds like fun! ^w^ But awful fluffy. Essays need a purpose. Oh no, what has my school done to me? D:

D: we are on two different parts of the country... now i see why O.o'' Our AP teachers no joke make sure that the AP course is the hardest that we have ever seen... they push us to the lines and usually 30-40% of the kids drop out due to that... kinda insane. i wish i went to school in CA; officially!! it wasn't fun... it was 100% pointless -.-

Then they fail. Our school doesn't want people to just take the course to put on their transcript. They want people who are willing to challenge themselves & are passionate about the subject. Also, I think they fear a flood of drop-outs other-wise. They make it very clear that AP courses are hard, and that if you'll be afraid of the workload, you oughtn't take them. It's why I didn't push myself to take AP Calc. xD I'm taking just honors math. It feels low, but I know it's not really. D:

I know a bunch of smart kids that were in my AP classes in the begging of the year... who had the ability to do it... but ended up not having a successful start and were forced to drop out because they were on the failing list for two weeks... and if that occurs on an AP level... you get two weeks to drop out on your own or you are kicked out due to failure by the teacher. There are kids who are capable of taking on a AP course and some that have the depiction that they can and take the course and then have a hell year or drop out... do you know what i mean? AP Calc BC is cake... easiest math course in a while for me... or maybe that's because math comes easily for me O.o?
