I've been playing a lot of video games recently but there are still a lot of games I haven't gotten around to yet and I was wondering what everybody has been playing lately. Mostly because I like to have another game in line for when I finish one.

Could possibly exchange friend codes/gametags/whatever if people want to.

Lately I've been into more freeware games and such than anything else. La Mulana, Cave Story, etc. A lot of those seem to be going to Wiiware too.

Played a little bit of AaaaAAaaaAA: a reckless disregard for gravity. It's a fun little time waster, but I'm not sure if I want to get the whole version. Demo was cool though.

I keep trying to play Aquaria, but I run into weird problems (My hard drive crashing, etc.) so I still haven't gotten to the end of it.

Been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2. I think I've logged about 20 hours as Pyro and 23 points since I reset my stats, where all the other classes are like 4 hours and 10 points. Compression blast is seriously one of the best things in the game. Too bad it eats ammo like it's nothing. Prop hunt and Dodgeball maps are hilarious and fun. Plus I think I got the Orange Box for like $5 or something when it was on sale. (Speaking of which, I have an extra copy of Half Life 2 if anyone wants it)

There are probably a ton of others, but I really can't think of any off the top of my head.

Prototype was amazing fun.

Verrrrry fast paced.

I prefer it on PC, amaaaaazing control.

But I lag behind what's new and current quite-a-bit, so.

I have to say I was incredibly, INCREDIBLY, disappointed with Crysis: Warhead.

Shortest.
Game.
Ever.

What was amazing about it? The shiny stuff? Physics was cool...

;l

UUhmm. Yarp. Just waiting for...

Ugh,yeah. Unless it's something my roommate is playing I pretty much only play indies and imports lately, or replay old games like Arcanum or something.

I think the last recent game I actually played was Fallout 3.

I am totally looking forward to Diablo III though. My friends and I recently had a LAN party where we all played Diablo II for a couple of days. It was good times.

I've been playing Civilization IV lately. I found it for 3€ in the budget bin and it's been great so far.

World of Goo and My Life as a Darklord on Wiiware have both been eating my time. World of goo can be relatively short, but trying to get the OCD (obsessive completion distinction) for each level makes it a hell of a lot harder.

I'm playing through Half-Life 2: Episode Two, trying to see if I can get the "Little Rocket Man" achievement. For those that don't know, there's a lawn gnome near the beginning of the game; you have to bring it with you through the entire game (and cheat codes invalidate the achievement) to load it into the rocket at the end.

Right now I'm about to get the car, from here on out... oh boy. You can't strap him in or lock him down inside it.

I never had the patience for Little Rocket Man. I keep telling myself that I'll do it someday, but then I look at my games droplist and see Team Fortress 2...

Speaking of which, Halloween event weekend in TF2. Or through the 2 or 4th or something.

But since I'm on my laptop I've been playing the original Dragon Warrior I and II, and Maze of Galious.

I've been doing the old beat em ups on my MAME.

It's kinda funny how many of them are blatant Final Fight ripoffs.

Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins are actually as good as people make them out to be. Borderlands especially with multiplayer.

DA:O is a bit ridiculous with all of its DLC though, and most of it is kind of crappy. The main story is pretty good though, and I don't know why Shale is DLC.

Looking to kill time while waiting for Diablo III? Try Torchlight.

The best opinion I've read so far:

Brian Clevinger of 8-Bit Theater
Do not buy Torchlight. It will consume you. I mean it. The person you used to be will be dead. It will be crushed, ground up, and torn apart by the gnashing teeth of Torchlight. Your mashed remains will undergo alchemical transformation in the great belly of Torchlight. All that was real and true and alive about you; the dauntless essence of your human spirit; the untouchable center of your being that knows love and joy and hope, all of that which once made a full if slightly ugly human will be destroyed. It will be transformed into a toxic sludge that fuels Torchlight’s hideous eternal unlife. And when it’s drawn out the final ounces of vitality from the pulp of your being, it will leave your remains — unrecognizable, desiccated — in a ditch filled with the mangled lifeless wretches of those who came before you.

And you will lie there. Not quite dead but not quite alive. A mockery. The world will grow dim as you’re slowly buried in the bodies of others. You will reach out to the machine, the monster that did this to you, and in a voice like two gravestones scraping together you will say, “More Torchlight.”

It's true.
