For me, it depends on the circumstances. If I was keeping it in a home book collection or whatever, I'd use hardback. If I knew it would be handled a lot, I'd prefer paperback.

I really don't mind either way, although I always take off the covers of the hardbacks because they tear so easily.
Also hardbacks are heavier and harder to enjoy when you're snuggled up in bed. wink

I prefer hardbacks, they seem to last longer.

If it's those books that I would want to collect (HP series), I'd go for hardcover.
But if it's books for leisure reading, paperback. Easier to carry, though at the same time easier to be worn out.

Hardbacks make me feel more safe for some reason eek lol With paperbacks I'm always afraid they are going to get ruined.

Paper back is better cause when they fall and hit you on the head they don't hurt as much as hardback books..... XD

Paperbacks. Because you can roll them and smack someone with it. xD Who said books don't hurt people?
Although, I want someone to make an in-between. The cover's hard but, it's still bendable! :p

There's a lot of things that depend with this. Hardbacks are heavier, more expensive and bulkier yet paperbacks can be damaged more easily. Personally though, I think I prefer hardbacks, for me there's something about a hardback book that's soothing and relaxing, it makes me wish I lived in England in a cottage in the woods with an open woodfire and a cat sitting on my lap ^L^

It's hard for me to say, really, because I like them both. However, based on cost and comfort while reading, I will have to go with paperback. Even though... series are better collected in hardback... Ah well, I can't decide, too many factors to put into account, xd

I would choose paperback because of it portability, but then again, there's the hardcovers, which last longer. I don't really mind which one, it's just reading with a hardcover kind of hurts of hands after a while, and with paperback, I can hold it with one hand.

Hard cover. The reason can be rather very obvious.
