Personality: Initially Muscardini strikes most people as a stick in the mud, but that impression can't long hold up against his innate good humor. Muscardini loves jokes and laughter, and he particularly loves stories, whether they're true or fictitious. Nevertheless, he does have a strong sense of obligation and a powerful urge to protect people. At least his sister, and those who remind him of her. In this he can be a little naive and easily taken in by damsel in distress-types. Every so often he has fits of self-doubt that manifest in a manner that bears a close resemblance to despair, but he's usually able to bring himself out of them. He isn't fearless, but he can be brave. He doesn't like to be alone.
History: Muscardini and his sister Gliri were the only cubs born of a rogue lioness's brief fling. Their mother was as attentive to the needs of her offspring as could be expected, but she was never exceptionally affectionate and with one memorable exception she never seemed overly protective of the pair. There was also a period of several weeks when the siblings were on the cusp of adolescence where their mother vanished completely. During this time, Muscardini was forced to learn to fend for himself and his sister, who was simply not brave enough to make a decent huntress. He wasn't terribly good at it, but they didn't quite starve while their mother was away. When their mother returned, she taught him how to hunt properly. She also announced that she'd found a mate in a pride that wouldn't allow her to bring them with her, and left shortly thereafter.
They wandered the rogue lands for a long time, just the two of them against everything and everyone else. They settled into a comfortable routine wherein Muscardini provided for them both while Gliri did as she always had and made up stories and songs. Every so often their solitude would be interrupted by others, and as long as the others weren't aggressive and showed no tendencies toward violence or insanity Muscardini and Gliri were content to occupy the same territory. Mostly, however, they kept to themselves until Gliri met a rogue male and fell in love with him. That relationship set Muscar into a panic and he took Gliri away.
As they traveled farther from Shazidi and his family, Muscar met a lioness named Lipi, older than he by a bit, but undeniably attractive. She joined up with him and Gliri, and at some point their relationship moved from friendship to being mates. They also produced six cubs, which was likely a contributing factor.

Personality: Gliri is a lioness who is easily spooked. Loud noises and sudden movements startle her, and when she's startled her first instinct is flight, rather than fight. Gliri may be shy, but she's not retiring by any means. Once she's relaxed and comfortable, it becomes apparent that she has a wicked, dry sense of humor. She is also inventive and imaginative, a talented storyteller and singer. However, she has to be coaxed to share these talents with an audience, much like her sense of humor, which only manifests in quick, secret smiles most of the time.

There were complications with the pregnancy and after she gave birth Muscar found a home for her two cubs and helped nurse her back to health. She recovered fully but a high fever actually caused her to lose some memory of the time she spent pregnant and Muscar never told her about it.
Once she was recovered, they moved to a new location and settled into a comfortable routine wherein Muscardini provided for them both while Gliri did as she always had and made up stories and songs. Personality: Like all of his people, Txuratan has a deep and abiding respect for nature and his family is the core of his world. He privately mourns the fact that he never had the opportunity to know his mother, but not to the point that he fails to properly appreciate the family he does have. As an adult he'll get along well with females, having spent much time with any sisters he may have, but he'll be very intent on marriage to a point that might make them uncomfortable. He will also take a great deal of interest in his siblings' lives. He is an average hunter and perfectly all right with that.
History: Txuratan's mother and father did not stay together for very long. As soon as the cubs were old enough to get by without her, his mother parted ways with her cubs and their father. Txur came to the Iknimaya with his father and siblings as a cub and has very few memories of his mother. Not much else has happened in his young life that is worth mentioning except that his father is the chief warrior in the pride. He did encounter a young goddess, Laini, who was the goddess of sight, and that encounter helped spur him into his adolescent decision to train as a priest. It was during adolescence that Txur began to notice himself feeling a growing attraction for his childhood friend, Petra, who was sister to Eytucan's heir presumptive. Eventually they became mates and bore a litter. After their cubs grew up Txur decided that he had to seek out his mother and left the pride, only to be captured by Stormborn on his quest and made into a thrall.

Personality: Pur'Jed is very much aware that she is a member of the noble class in the pride, and extremely proud of it. She will never tire of making others of lower rank perform petty or embarrassing tasks solely to demonstrate that she can. Her favorite targets come from the groundlings, since they are so very different and inferior. Even as an adult, this streak of arrogance (and dare we say prejudice) will persist, though she will learn to be surreptitious in this sport to avoid trouble with those who don't see class distinctions as clearly as she does.
History: Pur was out in the rogue lands one day late in her adolescence, bemoaning her unmarried state when Aesir came along and terrified the living daylights out of her. He came close to raping her but was distracted by the arrival of some mystery male who gave Pur the opportunity to escape and run home. Later, because she spent a long while afraid of everything, Pur forced herself to return to the rogue lands in search of the lion who had saved her and finds him still recovering from Aesir and not unattractive. She fell briefly for Koursi while she tried to care for him and gave it up to him one night, after which she realized her mistake and left him. Pregnancy was an unpleasant surprise, but she and her parents made a plan where she would leave the pride to have the cubs and then return when they could be left on their own.

Personality: Mananakbo was brave and adventurous growing up, but after the failed rebellion he started seeing threats in shadows, constantly concerned that the rulers of his old pride are going to hunt him down and kill him. He hated behaving that way and views it as the worst kind of cowardice. He's really a very proud cheetah, confident in himself and his skills. He knows he's reasonably intelligent and very fast and unafraid to take risks, and these are all positive traits he's proud of. He is also able to understand that he needs direction for his talents, and for someone with the right cause, he'll be very loyal.
History: Mananakbo was one of the rebels in the recent war in the Mizimu'Tungika and after his side lost he decided to get out of dodge as quickly as possible, slinking toward the roguelands as rapidly as his injury would allow because his arrogance made it impossible for him to believe that the Mizimu might not bother to come looking for him and that they would wreak havoc when they found him. He ran injured for weeks until one day, in a near-delirious state he chanced to meet Nyoka who accepted an oath of fealty from him. He now serves as her ears, or anything else she may require of him. Some time after being taken into the pride Mana met a female cheetah while scouting and they had a one night stand which resulted in five cubs, which she returned just to deliver and dump on him. One of these five was born very weak and died shortly after birth.

Personality: Mirsajadi aspires to be like his father in every way. He desires his father's authority and position when he grows up, even though he is not the oldest son, and knows that he will have to work incredibly hard to achieve that title. To that end, he does everything as though he had an audience, and as though that audience was his father. He emulates his father in nearly all of his actions and evinces all of his father's attitudes. The only problem is, he's not quite as twisted as his father seems to be, and actually has a gentler nature, like his mother's, and so for him much of what he does is an act, no matter how much he wants it to be real.
Because he is practically consumed with a desire to please his father, he tends to ignore his mother, as is only right and proper. When he does address her, particularly as he grows older, it is rarely with a great deal of respect and often he is subtly mocking her for her oddness, which both embarrasses him and evokes a sense of compassion that he tries very hard to pretend he doesn't have. Deep down he has an instinct which tells him he ought to be protecting his strange mother, but he is quite firm in ignoring it and tells himself that it's weakness. Mostly he distances himself from her to avoid feeling that weakness.
As he grows up he will learn to smile with his father's grin and he will pretend to prefer wilder females, even though his own preferences lean more toward sweet and docile females who delight in pleasing. Every so often his true nature will break through, particularly in the wake of any visions he might have. His visions are always brief and rarely show him anything he can understand, and the confusion combined with the violence of their arrival and departure (he can almost be said to go into a fit and then swoon when he's struck by a vision) leaves him too vulnerable to play his self-assigned role.
History: Born as one of Tariq's many sons to a goddess, and thus a seer by birth, Mirsajadi has never been exactly normal. Since he strives to be exemplary, that's fine with him. Nevertheless, his first vision startled him badly, and - worse - one of his older half-siblings witnessed him having it. Anwar implied that he might know something about what Mirsajadi had just experienced, but already Mirsajadi had learned to be careful about who he trusted and ended up forming a dislike for Anwar. Much of his youth he spent escaping the den in any way he could and exploring, and thus he met many others his own age that he could not have otherwise known, including the banu who would become his best friend, Arezoo.
