Oooooh! That sounds really GOOD! Man, creepy old mental institutes where they shock-therapied people and tortured them are most definately haunted for REAL, so as a setting for a movie. Man . . .
I thought it might be worth a good rent.
3nodding Yeah, they mention in the movie that the hospital they are working in is where the frontal lobotomy was perfected, although I don't know to what extent. At the time, the procedure was sometimes called a 'Pick Lobotomy' in which they insert the shaft through the patients tearduct and blindly scrape away.
gonk Look up Walter Freeman when you get a chance.
Pseudokai mentioned Jacobs Ladder earlier which is another one of my favorite movies. I think it has some serious Silent Hill elements in it. Very disturbing and warped imagery in this one. Demons of the mind? Anyway, watch it when you can. The ending will blow you away.
Anyone seen The Devil's Backbone? Great spanish horror movie with some very talented actors. A wonderful immersive ghost story set in old mexico. By the same director of Kronos, Mimic, and Hellboy!
Oh, and watched Boogeyman this weekend. I guess it was an alright film, although many people (myself included) felt that the ending seriously lacked. Also, the movie relies heavily on things jumping out at you on screen in order to get it's scares. Maybe a movie to rent, but not watch on the bigscreen. Im interested in seeing more from Ghost house Productions though. You Sam Raimi fans will be happy to know that some of those bizarre camera angles and zoom-ins from the Evil Dead series are in this movie. Wish they had cramed in more. I just love those weird and absurd shots.
