What I like about the layout:-The colors are nicer.
-We get immediate updates to notifications.
-The "View more" under status takes you straight to your friends list.
-It's not so impersonal and people can't stalk you to every forum you go to.
-The notices and friend's stuff are seperated.
-You can chose to view more of the notices and friend's stuff.
-The requests box is very convenient for taking care of requests quickly.
What I dislike about the layout:-The page is so cluttered with words.
-I can't see my viewer stats and the picture of my avatar, car, and house. It was convenient to just see everything all together.
-I can't just go to a town and tell my friends to follow using the "Join me in towns" button.
-I can't see who of my friends are online.
-The suggested content seems like it should be on the Forums page instead of taking up room on the My Gaia page.
-The advertisement seems like it's part of the page instead of just off to the side and not in the important stuff.
My suggestions are:-The picture with the avatar, car, and house should be brought back because it made the layout look nice and personal. It really felt like it was MY Gaia and not so much an update page.
-The requests should stay because you can do them quicker.
-I should be able to view MY stats on MY Gaia.
-The viewing of friends who are online should be brought back so we don't have to view our entire friends list and poke through the whole list just to find people online.
-The "Join me in" so and so buttons should be brought back but have them be under preferences so we can chose what people can join us in. Some users like having their friends know what forums their on but some would feel it's impersonal and I mean for some people it's like "What will they think if they see me read this?!". The same for towns. Some like the convenience of telling their friends "I'll just go to my house and you follow using the button." But some would rather not have their friends popping in on them in private conversations. Same type of thing for Vj and Games and such.
-Keep the notices. Sometimes it's nice to know right away when someone is replying to your forum when you're on different forums and not refreshing your My Gaia page!
I like the old layout and I like the new one. Both were/are subject to tweaking!
