(Kaden is still considered a bit green, having been only on the force for a year now. However, not green enough for the department to feel uncomfortable sending him out into the field patrolling alone for most of the time (due to the need to cover more ground and increased crime rates). He's just your friendly neighborhood beat cop!)

Hobbies:
Sports: Kaden loves the thrill of scoring points and winning the game. It doesn't matter if its on an organized team or just a pickup game with whoever he happens to run into that needs another man. He doesn't normally have time to be committed in a league, however, so he tends to stick with informal games. He'll play almost any sport, but usually gravitates towards soccer, football, and baseball. For Kaden, sports is a stress release. He can kick, hit, and tackle out all of his excess aggression and problems in a productive environment. It also helps by keeping him physically fit and increasing his stamina which greatly aids him.

Detective Novels: Kaden is your run of the mill amateur detective. When he was a child, he loved 'Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?' more than any child ever should, and probably owned about a million of those choose your own adventure books. Since then, he's constantly wanting to read new who dunnits, murder mysteries, and other types of detective novels. Kaden has an insatiable curiosity for mysterious cases and happenings, and his shelves are full of these types of books. He likes to think that it helps his deductive reasoning powers, but he's also the kind of guy who likes to read the last page first.

Obscure Law: Being a cop means that you need to know the law, but Kaden likes to take it one step further. The parts of his bookshelves that aren't taken up by detective novels are occupied by law books. One or two of them are practical police officer law guides, but the other 98% are books that cover obscure, outdated, and useless laws. For instance, did you know it's illegal to not wear shoes while driving? Well, you do now that you have a warning for it! He'd never actually ticket on obscure laws (seeing as that would waste man hours just to get thrown out in court), but he likes you to be aware of them regardless. Much of his spare relaxing time is spent reading.

Cooking: Living alone in a bachelor pad doesn't mean you have to sacrifice a good meal! This is one of those hobbies that Kaden see's as 'genderless' and therefore perfectly acceptable. He particularly likes grilling and sauteing things, enjoying the effect it has on the senses. He specializes in Italian cuisine, but also dabbles in other European dishes as well. Kaden also has a knack for throwing random things together and having it turn out wonderful, which is helpful if something comes up last minute.

Virtues:

Fair Hand-- This is one cop that you'll never see abusing his powers. He likes to go by the book, sometimes much to the chagrin of his coworkers. Most of the seasoned cops attribute it to the fact that he's a greenie on the force, and assume he'll grow out of his cute law abiding ways. However, this is actually a deeply ingrained trait that he'll never be rid of. He very rarely steps outside the letter of the law, and to do so he has to have a damn good reason.

Cool Temper-- Kaden isn't the kind of person to get up right in your face about something. He'd much rather engage you in conversation, be nice about it, and gather information about it that way. This also extends to most emergency situations; Kaden keeps a level head and tries not to let it get to him. It takes a LOT of button pushing/name calling/rudeness to send him over the line and get him angry. Most insults and yelling will simply get brushed off politely.

There For you--Kaden is the type of person that you call at 3am to get you out of a bind. He always has his phone on him, always answers, and is always willing to help. Even so far as stopping to help a broken down vehicle on the side of the road. This is particularly true if you sit on his good side, but he's also willing to put past grievances aside and help you out again, even if he knows its going to be bad for him in the long run. That’s just the kind of guy he is.

Hopeless Romantic-- Kaden is the kind of guy that believes in true love. He cherishes the thought that someday, that lucky guy with the perfect wife and family could be him. He's saved up money specifically for the down payment on a cute little house with a white picket fence; the only thing he's waiting for is the wife to go with it. He adheres to many of the unspoken rules of a classic romanticist, including most chivalry and etiquette. He holds doors open, shows up with flowers, and likes to keep notes of others likes and dislikes. Sometimes he slips up and does things wrong, but he tries- he really, really tries. (His chivalric tendencies mostly show when he's with someone that he's actively trying to court. In his line of work, he's certianly not going to be shy of physically restraining a woman if the need arises.)

Flaws:

Too Invested-- Sometimes, simply put, Kaden gets too involved in things. Things he takes a personal interest in garner special attention from him. He knows the legal line and moral line of being a stalker, but he also knows how to skirt right up to it and still be within the letter of the law. If something about you is interesting to him, expect to see Kaden popping up in your life again. Whether it's just running into him randomly, or hearing that he's keeping tabs on you- the man likes to follow up with people.

Stereotypical: Putting people into neat little boxes makes it easier on Kaden. Part of it comes from experience (teenager out after dark? Must be up to something!), and others from intuition (something seems off about the fact that you are wearing a ridiculous outfit and have a toy weapon, clearly you are a trouble maker); but regardless, first impressions mean a lot to Kaden. Please note that he DOES NOT stereotype on race (that would not be giving someone a fair hand, judging them based on things they cannot control), but more so on the way someone walks, talks, and dresses. Prove him wrong about it and he won't outwardly treat you as such, but you'll still be labeled in his head in that same little mental box.

Footprints--Many are surprised that he doesn't have footprints embedded in his skin with the amount of times he's been walked all over. Because he is always so willing to help, he often gets taken advantage of. Sometimes, Kaden knows it's coming, but still won't stop himself from giving someone another try. Usually another chance just ends up the same as the previous few, but Kaden is holding out hope that someday, it'll be different. This has already hurt him badly in the past, when a girl he fell head over heels for used him and then cheated on him. He's cautious with his feelings because of this. Kaden has also gotten into a bit of trouble in his department with not pulling in enough tickets and giving too many warnings.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Bright Green.

Hair: Brown, in a trendy haircut. His hair is a little bit longer and tends to look a little shaggy sometimes, but its not enough to get into his eyes and impede vision.

Face: Typical smiling friendly face!

Clothes: A cops uniform (gonna leave details up to Lizzy/mods on this one, seeing as I don't know what the DC police uniform looks like. I would assume some kind of navy blue, though).
