Nafsi liked this place. It was...well, it was like the lands she'd had her cubs near. The lands she'd been drawn to so often, but could not enter. Her pelt wasn't right. But this place...oh this place was most intriguing. She knew of the strife the land had been through. And it had rebuilt. And was recovering nicely. The odd lioness smiled. Yes...this place was perfect for her to settle down in. Provided they let her leave now and again to make the journey to visit her son. Hmm...who did she need to see...

She'd find out soon enough. She was at a border. Nafsi-kataa kept her smile and sat, patient. She'd wait at long as needed, though by the scents on the air, she wouldn't need to wait long. And it wasn't as if she was worried about being attacked...She could easily rival some of the larger Firekin in size, despite her slim build.

It had been a long, but wonderful day for Aang. Between rebuilding the Arba'Sehemu, making sure Malu was doing well in her new duties, and keeping an eye on his younger 'siblings', he was nearly exhausted. But, he thought as he idly roamed along the border, it was a good kind of exhaustion. Of course, when he caught sight of the lioness he knew his day wasn't over. The young Avatar grinned, dashing forward to meet her. He probably only looked like an adolescent compaired to her!

She perked up as someone approached, but stayed sitting...to look a little less large. No sense in intimidating anyone right now. "Good day, young cheetah! I was wondering who a newcomer might talk to about these lands!" He was indeed much smaller than her...but she knew he was an adult. Younger than her though. Much younger.

"That would be me," Aang said absently, moving to sit before the lioness with a smile. He was young, but it was obvious he'd seend a fair amount in his days. "I'm the Avatar of these lands."

Ah...what luck she had! She bowed a bit. "My name is Nafsi-kataa. I've been a wanderer for many moons, and feel it is time for me to settle." She looked back up, to meet this Avatar's eyes. Ah...there was indeed age in them. He'd seen much. "I've heard tales of this land, of the strife it has been through...and yet it has rebuilt, and strives for peace once more. A place with strength like that...I would very much like to make it my home, if it will have me."

"We would be honored to have you, Lady Nafsi-kataa," Aang replied, nodding politely towards the lioness. "I could tell you a bit about the clans so you could choose your place."

Perfect! She nodded. "Thank you, Avatar. And that would be greatly appreciated." She knew a little but...it was always best to hear things from the source. And to hear about the clans from a native, the overall leader, was best of all.

It was relatively simple for him to explain the clans to her. Sure, he'd been out of the lands for a while, but the way he spoke about them... It was obvious he knew his home from back to front. He described everything he could think of, from general beliefs to attitudes to appearances to everyday life, and then he touched on all the various ranks the lioness could go into. And after a long time he fell into silence, his eyes shining with fondness for his home.

Wow. Nafsi was a little stunned. She was silent for a bit after listening, thinking...then nodded. "I would like to be a part of the Fire Nation, if they will have me. They seem to be the closest to who I am. And I think I would make an excellent fighter for them. I am strong, quick, and have an eye for gauging my opponents." She was also STUBBORN, and not above using her size to just sit on an opponent.

"I have no doubt they'll have you. Currently, they're suffering from a rather profound shortage of members, far greater than any of the other clans. They could use the extra paws," Aang said lightly, his tail flicking behind him. For a long while, he sized up Nafsi. She would make an excellent Warrior, but there was something about her stance that told him perhaps there was a better rank for her - a rank that needed filling after the disappearance of Kuroi'kumo... "But perhaps the rank of Warrior wouldn't suit you, Lady Nafsi-kataa... You have a very strong presence, the kind of presence many would attribute to a General. Would that be acceptable to you?"

A shortage of members. She'd chosen right than. With a shortage of members, they were certainly going to need someone who wouldn't mind being on her paws until numbers were larger. After all...it was likely the had few warriors left if they had such a shortage. The young Avatar's offer however...well, it certainly caught her off guard.

"I...I would be very honored, Avatar." She bowed her head. "If that is the best way I can serve, than I shall strive to excel."
